This whole say "Merry Christmas" thing is a joke. I'm an atheist, I celebrate Christmas with my family who are Christians. If I'm out and someone says Merry Christmas to me, I say Merry Christmas back. If they say Happy Hanukkah, I say that back. If I don't know if a person is religious or what religion they are I say Happy Holidays. There are plenty of holidays this time of year, everyone just needs to chill out and the Christians need to stop acting like their holiday is the only one.
Reminiscent of Kleburg County, Texas changing their official greeting form "hello" to "heaven-o". (Because of, you know, "hell"...)
