  • Man, curt really liked yellow shirts... awesome video.

  • A REAL TOE TAPPING TUNE,ONE OF THE BEST OF THE 80'S

  • So Back to the 80´s ! ;D

  • what a great band from the eighties....a weird turning point came at the same time this song came out in my life...these guys helped me through it....thanks fellas that was very nice of you

  • In an interview Curt said that they did have issues with who sang what song and who's voice sounded the best on what song. :) But you know what? I think that if Roland was to sing this song by himself it wouldn't sound the same as it does when Curt sings it. And you can tell when Curt is singing this song he gets a sense of euphoria. :)

  • wow i thought you just dubbed the music over one of there concert but it was actually live, that's real music

  • mullets :(

  • I never tire of this song.

  • Three years ago from today this was posted lol

  • Best performance I've ever seen of this song .. is all too perfect ... I'm in heaven ...

  • gänsehaut feeling.wenn man das schaut ist man wieder da....in den fucking good old 80ties

  • Lo mejor q' escuchado en my tiempo de vida i love this

  • <3

  • I always kind of wrote off this scene but I gotta say I'm really impressed with these guys' musicianship.

  • @ilikehairbands Me, too. They were great in the '80s and they still are. Tears for Fears is one of the best bands since the Beatles, the Jackson 5, the Bee Gees, Genesis, and other rock bands from different decades.

  • What a masterpiece! I listen to this song everday in 1985, just couln't stop playing it, time and time again..... Now it's still amazingly fresh!

  • what a bad ass concert!

  • Damn I wasn't even born in the 80s but damn I wish I could have lived during then 80s rules

  • @xXsweetoothXx

Hehe - serious case of rose tinted spectacles :P

  • 05:02

I'd take it that Roland wasn't in the mood to be filmed?

  • 0:07

Is Curt doing this song bare foot?

  • The song is great. just can't say eneugh aboout it. BUT the musicianship, THAT'S what amde them so succesfull.

  • ZzZzZzZzZ damm what happen

  • one of my favourite songs of all time, easily.

  • Three people didn't rule the world.

  • Wow. i know nothing about this band. I had no idea the "Head over heals' and this song were done by different singers. They sound so much alike.

  • The best !!!!!! I saw them in 1984 live @ the village NYC.

  • thanks for share dude

  • Infectious energy! Ahhh, to be young again.....

  • WHAT? 3 people didn't like this?

  • What a Great song from back in the day takes me way back to my school days love it.

  • Shoot that boy,(Curt), can move. :) He still can move.

  • thumbs up if you agree

  • fuck today's music... thumbs up if you agree!

  • @cometoanend No, there is a lot of great music today. You just have to find it (:

  • What a really great hit this was....! A real musical masterpiece....Thank you Tears for Fears! Their voices and playing just like a chiming ring in a bell....Wow.

  • como me encanta esa rola =) sobre todo el ritmo

  • TFF forever. How I love this song. Curts performance is just amazing + what a handsome guy...

  • This song reminds me of summer and golfing and being able to get outside,I miss summer and anykind of good weather

  • Comment removed

  • very unique and best original song and forever treasure the TFF music. they're one of my favorite bands in the 80.

  • I wanna go back 25 years just for the music and the fun.

  • This is amazing but i cant VH1 didnt include at least 1 Tears for Fears song in their 100 Best Songs of The 80's list.To hell WITH VH1!!!!!

  • @rboffill Huh! VH1, MTV, Much Music, and Much More Music wouldn't know good music even if it jumped up and bit them.

  • I will forever remember this song as the one that carried me thru my first Mardi Gras, in New Orleans - 1986... I danced my ass off.. fell in Love... had the best time...!!!

  • Dave Coulier on keyboard!!!

  • Kings

  • 43312 views, only 97 agree, what is wrong with whe world? is the global warming? hope al gore isnt right :(

  • Brilliant!

  • Can't wait to play this song on Rock Band 3.

  • I agree! Curt Smith is SO cute when he's having fun! You can just see he enjoys this unlike everything else :D He was very sexy in the 80's, I must say.

  • absolutely wonderful!

  • it is amazing how much Smith and Orzabal sound and look alike. I thought they were brothers

  • This is in my desert island music list. One of the best songs to come from the 80's as well!

  • Curt is so cute when he is having fun!

  • @Zugzugul I agree he is cute!

  • jesus i knew the band did quality live performances but this is fantastic. curts voice is unique. no shit!!!

  • @coralbay00 Curt's voice is very unique, and the sad irony is, if someone with a voice like that showed up to audition for American Idol, he'd get slammed. The music industry doesn't discover really good bands like this anymore.

  • @duman8 I agree as well. Even for someone my young age, I agree that nowadays the new talents coming into the spotlight don't have strong vocals like the ones from back in the 80s and 70s. Even 90s music was better than the 2000s music. Nowadays the new talents sound weak and the voices don't sound as mature.

  • kanta con madre el puto la canta =

  • Is that Nicky Holland in the back on keyboards?

  • @hankaaron1961 Yes that's her on Manny's right, and Ian Stanley is on Manny's left. :)

  • This is a great performance. They will be in the Buffalo area in August and it's a free show. Can't wait!

  • oh noooooooooo sax dude has a little mullet going on

  • I flew to this concert in 1985 and entered it in my "comments' section in my logbook. This was and still is the most memorable show I ever saw.

  • en este video se le ve muy alegre a Curt,me gusta mucho esta canción, me encanta,se ven super bien los dos

  • why do people want to rule the world? JUST LET THE WORLD BE!!

  • i'm not dissing the song by the way..... the song is sarcastically raising awareness of those who want to rule the world... who could honestly believe it's good to rule the world-- no one, hence them being sarcastic about how everyone wants to rule the world... just thought id add that, since after reading my comment, i realized it could be interpreted as a stab at the song, its not.

  • eh suddenly im infatuated with that girl wearing a yellow jacket at 1:40. damn it she's gotta be old now. fuck damn it

  • @WeirdMrBilly She's got to be at least in her late 30's or early 40's, in this, she looks to be about 14 or 15.

  • I'd have guessed she is in her early 20's in this

  • She looks about 14!

  • hahaha... you know why she's hot? She's listening to TFF, brother. But she is pretty

  • @WeirdMrBilly i can tell you're a fucking psycho you just saw some chick for a few seconds now you're 'infatuated' with her how do you live your life

  • I don't know if anyone can sing this song the way Curt did. This particular song with Curt's vocal is truly untouchable.

  • Bob you didn't happen to be at this show were you?

  • Sick performance. Curt really got the crowd going on that one. I especially loved it when he hit the cymbals. A great song by a great band. Wish there was still this quality today.

  • Yeah, I remember being a kid and wait for the whole song to see Curt hit that cymbal at 3:46...!

  • Tears For Fears... I love this band... pop music with high quality!!!!

  • si algun dia muero que me entierren con esta cancion... carjo si que es muy muy buena no por algo fue TOP...

  • Excellent Guitar work !

  • whats the name of the song at the end?

  • Listen from Songs From The Big Chair.

  • the guitarist is awesome! he is now old but back then he was sooooooo energetic!

  • He just turned 48 August 22.

  • really? wow. how old was he back in this concert?

  • He was 24. Roland is 2 months younger than Curt is.

  • Curt is really getting that crowd going.he is so getting into it....he looks like he is really enjoying himself, and that is great.

  • That's because it's a song that Curt sings that's all his own. Written by Roland of course but I can tell he really enjoys that song.

  • ritienne17,

Curt was having so much fun in this vid, it's just too cute. It did seem that he was getting the crowd going. Gosh this takes me back the the concerts the past summer. And yes they had just as fun as now as they did then. It was truly awesome to see that. Well, at least the concet I went to...just sayin'

  • Perfection =)

  • Curts having a good time!

  • He certainly has a lot of energy here. They both do actually.

  • At 4:37 it says: "All live numbers from the Massey Hall, Toront, May 30th and 31st 1985."

  • I think it's confusing because, at the beginning of another clip from the documentary, there's a guy in the street *saying* they're in Germany, and certainly the "behind-the-scenes" footage intercut with that performance (I want to say it's 'The Working Hour') looks to be in Europe; but, unless the Old Lady of Shuter St. has an identical twin in Germany, right down to the godforsaken pillars, the performance space is Massey all the way.

    On Black Friday, no less.

  • I can always tell Massey Hall because of those black pillars that the concert hall has.

  • They're like a rite-of-passage. I don't think you can call yourself a true music fan in Toronto until you've had to pole-dance your way through a show at Massey.

  • i love this songggggggggggggggggggggggaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • I really love the energy of Curt here<3

  • I was born 1986, shame on me I am disgusted, these are the live bands I should have seen as I grew up!

  • Saw them live at Cobo Hall in Detroit in 1985 as a High School Sr. A New Wave group called The Adventurers opened for them. Out of all of the concerts I saw in the 80's, Tears For Fears and Mr.Mister were the best in that era for reproducing their studio sound live.

  • Best song ever!!!

  • What a great band and fantastic song...that triplet feel through the song makes it so interesting...

  • I saw them in 1985 at the Paladium in

    Los Angeles California. Great concert.

  • ive got this on video ScenesFTBG.

  • was not in Toronto was in Germany

  • Yes it was in Toronto. At the end it says "All Concert footage shot at Massey Hall Toronto, Canada."

  • Check out the Roland Orzabal ass shot at 2:11.

  • And wow does Curt ever have a lot of energy here. He's got the same amount of energy now as he did back then.

  • Yeah I was right. Some of this video was filmed at Massey Hall in Toronto.

  • This is an "exceptional" live performance. Curt r-e-a-l-l-y gets "into it" throughout the whole song. Check out his eyebrows at 3:25-3:27. Too cute.

Roland is so intense on his guitar at 3:53-3:57. Go Roland!

They appear to be so "happy" in this clip doing their "gigging". I really enjoyed watching this.

But, leave it to Roland to throw his towel at the camera at the end of the performance (backstage)? Too funny.

  • I guess Roland wasn't in the mood to be filmed at the end of this clip.

  • Golly! I wish I was old enough to go and see them by myself at the time that this was filmed. But I was only 9 so I would have had to go with either my mother or my father so that wouldn't have been too cool for me to be seen at a T.F.F. concert with one of my parents.

  • I could go for a 5 min ending solo on this tune in that same key... Such a great tune!

  • anyone has the guitar tabs for this beautiful song???

  • Man they sound awesome live as well.
