  • I love Wizards! and I think its awseome that the first time I watched this vid, Daft Punk wasen't cool yet! or at least where I live... lol

    they both rule!

  • @MythicDude oh yeah ^^

  • I love both, but IMO, they don't go together.

Daft Punk is disco-vibe: lustrous and immediate - like ecstasy.

Wizards is stoner-vibe: spacious and faded.

    Not that I didn't enjoy, I just don't find them a match.

On youtube, you can find a video with Wizards animation that uses Amon Duul, a legendary German band (60's-70's), doing a tune called "Deutsch Nepal" that really fits the mood/vibe of the images. You even see Hitler pontificating in sync with German dude ranting in the song.

  • I still think Ralph Bakshi's finest movie was American Pop and my favorite of them all.

The film is gory but nowhere as brutal as Fist of the North Star.

  • ah i like Fist of the north star ^^

  • @truearumando

Awesome dude! do you think Wizards is similar to Fist? same Sci-fi fantasy set in a post-apocalyptic future where mutants and tyrants want control of the world and two magical brothers battle each other as one must heal the world back to it's roots. And do you think both are as gory?

  • the story background i believe is simular, wizars of course has the more fantasy feeling instead of the kung fu brawler. i love em both though. ^^

  • Own it, love it.

  • same here.

  • Believe me, no one, not even the greatest animatio company of all time, can touch this movie. If they saw any scene from this movie, they'd run like crazy.

  • haha, i agree.

  • That was Awsome!!! I give it 5 stars!!!

  • thanks!

  • Awesome video!

"they killed fritz, they killed FRITZ!"

  • This movie is so ridiculous, but I love it anyway. My absolute favorite part is:

    "THEY'VE KILLED FRITZ!!"

  • haha that was an awsome part.

  • My favorite was always when necron finds the elf in the woods and the elf goes tazmanian devil on him, screaming and choping until they hit the water... I need to get this movie.

  • look in borders book stores, sometimes they have the dvd!

  • lol thats not gonna happen.

  • yo wuhz the name of the song.. i need 2 knoe man!!!

  • haha no prob. its "Human After All" by of course, Daft Punk.

  • I think this movie had the best ending of them all.

  • yeah. ^^

  • Ralph Bakshi FTW.

  • hehe you know it.

  • i have that laser disk..haha

  • suprisingly good song for a tencho band.

  • i love daft punks music. their very different form other run of the mill groups.

  • they're very interesting. They have a fun sound.

  • why dont you actually post Wizards? i would be soooo happy!

  • the movie sorry i would but i had to make space on my laptop. its already gone from harddrive.

  • can u say the artist and title of the song paying in this vid?

  • oo thats easy, you might like them alike like I do. The Artist is the one and only "Daft Punk". the song is "Human After All" The album is also called Humna After all. but they have alot of other good songs too, check em out ^^!

  • I kind of want to see this, but I'm a little leary about buying it because Heavy Metal sucked so much ass.

  • aww I liked heavy metal ^^ haha oh well. Its a good one, you might like it. but if you are not into the older animations then you might not. hmm.

  • Amazingly well done, and here I was thinking I was the only one who remembered this movie. "Fritz? Fritz?! Oh god they've killed Fritz!"

  • Love that part. this is such a great film!

  • good job to the dude who made this!

  • thank you ^^

  • i love how that one elf in the battlefield huck's an ax into the head of one of those monsters and steal's the machine gun

  • bad ass little elf huh.

  • Kudos on the video and music. Fifth time watching this. I haven't seen the movie yet and haven't seen it on youtube. I guess I will buy from Amazon or something for DVD.

  • Yeah, its a little hard to find. but a great peice to have!

  • oh my goodness, this is great. perfect with the daft punk. I just rediscovered WiZARdS... an old childhood favourite-- and watched it for the first time since I was nine.... "and one more thing, I'm glad you changed your last name you son of a bitch." BANG. man, kids movies from back in the day rocked so much harder.

  • yeah, this had to be one of mine as well.

  • I got the movie on my laptop. Dvix!

My girl is sick and tired of it... and I just love watching random parts of it during the day.

    ;) Memories...first time i saw this movie I was probably 10. :p

  • I was around 7, my father had all the oldies.

  • I love Ralph Bakshi, I just dont get why he doesnt make movies anymore!?

  • He lost the will to carry on after one of his long-term associates died in 2002. Bakshi is now retired from moviemaking, unfortunately. Besides in the age of CGI animation, he probably wouldn't get the chance to make his kind of films anymore.

  • hey man....he's not retried..he's into works of "what could be his last movie" The Last Days Of Coney Island.. unfortanaly....the budget has dried up..and is in devlemonet hell until someone "that has animation company" can take on the project

  • Well, Bakshi claimed to have retired on the Wizards DVD commentary, made in late 2003. He must have changed his mind since then. Thanks for the update, anyway.

  • your welcome..i for one cannot wait for this film..i hope bakshi finds someone who can help raise the budget

  • My family shielded me from a lot when I was young, so when my friend brought up Wizards a night ago and found me clueless, he directed me to this video.

I've wanted to watch this movie ever since, and I've begun looking into Daft Punk as well. I have a lot to catch up on. Seriously, this is a good video.

  • I remmber when i was young&8 or 79. in school. i won a spelling test. and my teach took me to se this film. it was cool. i was about 12? thanks man for the memorys

  • no prob i'm glad it could bring back good memorys.

  • Old skool.

  • the only school ^^

  • daft punk is sexy

  • the song and the vid match up perfectly.

  • thank you ^^

  • Max: Fritz! Fritz, get up for God's sake! Get up! They've killed Fritz! They've killed Fritz! Those lousy stinking yellow fairies! Those horrible atrocity-filled vermin! Those despicable animal warmongers! They've killed Fritz! Take that! Take this! Take that, you green slime! You black hearted, short, bow-legged...

  • haha

  • Well... the daft punk part of this vid seemed weird to me at first, but as soon the vocals came on I was amazed on how nicely they match.

Oh, and I love fritz and his merry friend ^^

  • Daft Punk to Ralph Bakshi's only Fantasy Film? What the hell were you thinking?

  • Ralph Bakshi also made "The Lord Of The Rings"(1978) and "Fire And Ice"(1983)

  • speaking of wizards sign the petiton that is helping wizards be on DVD ! go to ralph bakshi's wbesite and find the petition. sign it . and once wizards is on DVD ralph bakshi might do the other two squels

  • I've signed it, under my real name Taylor Wright.

  • when do u think the other wizards would kick in?

  • Haven't a clue...but alot of people will die by my hands if it's CGI.

  • well, there is a cgi short of his original character "cheech wizard"

  • Wizards IS on DVD. It was released on DVD region 1 in 2004. You can probably find copies on Amazon or E-bay.

  • Yeah!! I remember this one :S it was pretty scary :S when i first saw it i was 8

  • pretty rad!

  • i have that laser disk..haha

  • OMG! Wizards! I still have it on VHS... But I can't watch it. I've only got a DVD player.

Anyone know where I can get This movie?

Oh. And what do you people think about Bakshi's "Fire and Ice" ?

  • "Fire and Ice" is bad to the bone!

  • I thought the standard of animation and rotoscoping on "Fire and Ice" was very good but the plot was very weak and derivative. It was also far too short, about 80mins. Bakshi would have been better off using the money for that movie to make "Return of the King" instead.

  • He could of, but he said in an interview about a couple of years after TLOTR that he accually wanted people to read the book because the movie would of been a little too hard to make and he also wanted to work on American Pop.

  • Ralf Mother-f*%$ing Bakshi. Damn it...we USED to know how to animate so well... I can forgive the Lord of The Rings fiasco but damn near everything else he's done is nothing short of amazing.

  • Does anyone have heavy traffic? post the movie on Beacuse Ralph Bakshi's work is awesome . for anyone who has the movie.

  • Very cool, but you should have shown more of Elanore!

  • Those black/bray and white shots remind me a lot of Elfquest.

  • Yes they do, Ralph Bakshi should make an Elfquest movie.

  • ...It took two million years for the radioactive clouds to once again allow sunlight to reach the surface...

I used to watch that back in Jr H.S.

I bet it goes well with shrooms (not that I would know anything about that)

Must've set off the whole RPG craze

  • omg, i love it ^^ great work!

  • thanks ^^

  • i need this song what is the name

  • Daft Punk "Human After All" the Album for this is also title Human After All

  • One cool violent movie rated PG, seven years before

    PG-13. You're right...an awesome intense battle sequence.

  • awesome

  • Thanks for this video, Wizards is one of my favorite fliks. I'm in my animation class, and we are learning rotoscoping, and I wanted to show people the way it was done in this film, so thank you for having so much of the rotoscoping in your video.

  • My friend Jake Dunaway is trying to start a rock band,

and he wants me to direct music videos... I could make him a rotoscoped one.

  • well, it's kind of hard to make a rotoscoped video. sorry to be a bother, but back then and now, people had to take every single frame and animate over it. It was a cheap way of animating, but it was much faster.

  • I know that, but I'd still like to give it a try when I get the right software. I'd make an extra effort to make it look good too.

  • I love this movie. it´s really a good thing that you made this clip. I am 17 years old and love those oldschool films like the heavy metal movies or Fritz the Cat.

Maybe you could make the same thing with a heavy metal story, i think this could be nice, too.

  • Heavy metal, now there is a good Idea, I am going to have to try and find some clips of that.

  • hm, i agree, i have to find this Wizards movie.

Very well put together, this video, good work

  • It's awesome man

  • Hectic!!

  • Right on!

  • wizards rules.

  • Like... this just kicks ass, I can't even explain how much. I bet this montage of scenes could persuade people to watch the movie.

  • really? thanks alot!

  • Yeah this takes all the awesome bits of Wizards and runs them together. Great song too.

  • Nice vid, not too fanciful in the editing dept but still cool. At least now I have a good idea on what Wizards is like. I still need to see it.

  • thanks, its a great movie. I tried a bit to edit it but precise timeing is so hard with just windows movie maker.

  • This is going on the Bakshi MySpace page SOON!

  • sweet ^^ when its there gimme a link so I can add as a friend, and thanks!

  • Very cool!

  • thanks ^^
