  • My name's Charles Bronson, an' all my life I've wan'ed to be famous.

  • doesn't want to comment on his 50k a year for his 5-6 hour day's and 5 month hoildays.

Must be hard struggling on that.

  • @MrGonetopot you have the mentality of a fucking peasant!

  • Lip Ring, Ear Piercing, Mustache, and Ralph Lauren Beanie....

    WTF.

  • A graphics teacher wearing a Ralph Lauren beanie hat = an unnecessary drain on the Public purse...

  • @SuperTruth77 ah the economics of jealousy ! didnt see/hear you complaining when the credit was flowing, now all of a sudden you begrudge him a £5 beanie hat. jealous, hypocrites the lot of you.

  • @philgoodwin67 yeah you're right about wastage in the public sector ..after all who needs all those doctors and nurses anyway it just encourages people to be 'ill'..

  • @radicalsystems why the 50,s????and how much does the grammer police pay these days u sad sad sad tit

  • Also, when your protesting has to do with being too poor, try to avoid wearing a Ralph Lauren hat. It renders the unshaved look redundant.

  • "I fail to see how my pitiful pension will keep me in mustache trimmers, lip rings and faux-vintage furniture in my old age". First world problems.

  • Since when has Charles Bronson been teaching?

  • Sorry I know this is a serious topic they're talking about and everything but that mans mustache is amazing <3

  • Wasn"t this bloke in the Village people?Hasn"t he got a police pension?

  • If you can't do, teach.

Be a man and get a real job.

  • @sniperHEX As a current uni student I would say the majority of my tutors were fantastic & knew their subject. The rest, however, especially one external tutor certainly confirms this rule!

  • winging git, try working in the real world

  • @wulfricvonspot try posting intelligent comments...everyones job is on the line

  • So the Iron Shiek went into teaching after his WWE days?

  • Comment removed

  • So everyone in the private sector (who have already lost their final salary schemes) should pay more to support the puplic sector to keep theirs!!! that doesnt seem fair!!!!

  • @philgoodwin67 public sector and private sector are related..public sector has contracts with private sector..so, sack ppl in public sector and close departments now you got no customers..bye bye job..

  • @radicalsystems if you had read my comment - i was talking about pensions not sacking people - although there is considerable waste in the public sector

  • Is this guy for real....i work in the private sector.....i have to work longer hours....i do not get the holiday benfits that these guys get.....or sick benefits ,which they all abuse...and yr paid is alot better..... as for yr pension op out ....yr lazy, if u dont like yr job leave......U R NO BETTER THAN FAT CAT BANKERS....TAKE TAKE TAKE .....greed at both ends and its the middle that ends up paying for it

  • Get a life. You are a drain on our society. Teachers should be litter picking in the school holidays to make up there time. Why should they get 13 weeks paid holiday? Lazy sods.

  • Since when did Cheech teach Graphics?

  • Comment removed

  • Bloody disgrace all of you who went on strike.....should have sacked the lot of you......maybe if we had some decent teachers, British kids would get a proper education.

  • @TheSmiler62 here here....

  • @TheSmiler62 yeah what we need is more privatised schools with teachers on low pay so that the companies can make more profits..well said..

  • never seen a teacher driving a clapped out ford escort....if you don't want to teach fook off and work in Mcdonalds...(if they would employ you...which i doubt very much)

  • @mrpinkist yeeeeaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • The Guardian have paid for this whingeing crap to be featured at the top of YouTube frontpage for nearly 3 WEEKS- and the result? 3,826 views.

NO-ONE CARES ABOUT YOU, PUBLIC SECTOR WORKERS!

  • @SuperTruth77 You don't care about nurses then? Don't go to A&E in an emergency then, you narrow-minded idiot.

  • @EngineG9999 why should we care about their pay, do they care about mine, I respect them all, but they do it 4 a living, not to be kind....

  • I'm now just here to check my comment is still top. It is.

  • @jamesvolunteer with six thumbs congrats, narcissistic loser.=]

  • @Babylondemolitionist 28 actually. For the top comment, you have to look at the top. I think that makes me a triumphant winner. Sorry, I don't do smileys.

  • @Babylondemolitionist Holy shit. For an Atheist, and someone into Reggae, you sure are a bit judgemental. But you're only 20, so I'll let you off. ;o) :-o lol, rofl..etc etc.

  • @jamesvolunteer Ty, oh magnanimous one, I wasn't being 100% serious but i don't think i was within the realms of prejudice considering your sad behavior. ( I enjoy smileys, guess I'm not pretentious enough=[) =].=]=[=]=[=][=]=[]=[]=[]=[][=][===bleh.

  • @Babylondemolitionist Don't be so hard on yourself. Judging from what I've seen, you're very pretentious.

  • @jamesvolunteer Ah internet rage clouding your judgment, don't worry bro you can rage all you like at me. =P

  • @Babylondemolitionist Rage? I'm not sure where you got that from. I wouldn't have a go at a mere boy anyway. It wouldn't be fair. You really must learn to detect sarcasm without the use of emoticons 'bro'. Now off to Londis with you, to fetch your inevitable pot noodle, Rizla and half bottle of rough Vodka shopping basket. I tire of your pseudo Jeremy Kyle ramblings.

  • @jamesvolunteer I can see you take the internet very seriously, its ok bro let it all out=]. I'm here for you gramps =P . And despite my emoticons I'm not that badly articulated, but I understand you take solace from arrogant assertions.

  • @Babylondemolitionist You mean your bones and joints work well? Whats that got to do with anything? Maybe you mean you can articulate a conversation well. Who knows. Must be that rough Vodka working its magic.

  • @jamesvolunteer Try putting things in context before you comment, perhaps my grammar wasn't 100% but come on use your head, after all you're the "mature" adult and I'm a mere child. I think ill putt this to rest seeing as i wont be near a computer for a few months have fun arguing with yourself.

  • @Babylondemolitionist Ah, finally you're getting it. Gold star boy! Remember, watch where those sarcastic comments are going, as someone else might also take you to school, so to speak. In other words son, don't start something you can't finish. Hope you've been good for Father Christmas, and you get your Zhu Zhu pets, or whatever the...craze is this year.

  • @jamesvolunteer see your just spam Mr Articulate have you had a bitch at any children 2day,

  • @rchapman4444 Read back right to the start of the conversation, and you'll see he's neither a child or uneducated. He just lost a verbal *2 WAY* battle. You're incessantly messaging me now, so what's the difference? And no. I'm not ashamed of being able to spell and punctuate.

  • @Babylondemolitionist And lastly, at least you can "take solace in your narcissistic views", or whatever pretentious rubbish it is you you keep trying to say to people. Here's a pro tip...The same phrases used in totally different places, suggests a limited vocabulary. Makes one sound like a pull cord doll. Have that one for free! Please...Don't thank me. Bye.

  • @jamesvolunteer Does it make you feel clever 2 put people down, So his education ain't as good as yours maybe, Maybe he should be shot, our better still shoot you down Mr clean????

  • trying to sound smart.

  • This lot live in a different world to the rest of us. I resent paying 25% of my council tax to fund some pen pusher when I can't afford to put that much in towards my own pension. What a shower of arseholes. As for their length of training,it is often less than for many other professions who have to pay for their own pensions 100%.

  • What a fucking lazy shit ohh i'm a teacher and I get 3 months paid off a year fuck off try working for a living dickhead

  • @synchronicity666

Yeah and what about nursing staff that have to put up with some of the most stressful jobs in the public sector. Having to do everything from cleaning a persons arse to saving a persons life.

They get paid shit money and don't have many holidays.

Atleast show some respect to NHS staff.

  • @revron77 I agree with that. Though it has to be said that it's a vocation, like teaching. The job is famous for being that way before people train for ages to get into it. Nurses and Teachers always seemed to be on strike, even 20 years or more ago when I was at school. Not saying thats wrong. Just saying.

  • heres an idea. why dosn't the private sector fight for better pension provisions? bring them up to the standard of the the "gold plated" public sector ones, instead of demanding everyone suffer on the same shitty level. good moustache aswell. :)

  • looooooooooooooool

  • :( im just here because i thought cheech and chong had a new movie....

  • sack all the greedy lazy sods

  • It would seem Marios a socialist.

  • haha..this guy is a teacher...looks more like a tramp. Typical left-wing loser who thinks the world owes him a living. Well i am not paying taxes to fund Christmas shopping jaunts while my children lose out on an education. The standard of teaching is disgraceful to start with

  • It's the private sector that earns the money for the country! If the State worker wants a better pension then stop strangling the private sector! And more importantly stop trying to deny us our rightful pensions with the governments anual raid on our pensions savings before we even collect!

  • The Guardian? Lefist crap! These people have been fed one version of the working Briton! They detest the Private sector as Conservatism and misguidingly think everyone in the Private sector is a FTSE millionaire! The real problem is this Government and all it's predessors have known for years the aging populus is out growing the means to support it! Given this; non of them have ever put aside the necessary funds; regarless of working in the State or Private Sector to give us all a real pension!

  • No-one give a toss about Public Sector workers!

The Guardian have paid for this video to be promoted on top of the YouTube front page for a nearly a week and it's still only got 2,000 views. Tells its own story....

  • just want to point out a fact regarding the S.Y.P.A (south yorkshire) if everyone who contributes to this scheme were to withdraw their contributions today. there would still be enough money in the pot to carry on paying pensions for the next 25 years. so, the argument the government is making that there isnt enough money is a complete lie. they are just stealing our money (and more) to pay off the national debt caused by the bankers. its downright criminal......

  • I used to leave amusing comments. Then I used the one about an arrow to the knee.

  • i used to read the guardian then i took an arrow to the knee

  • Right on Brother!

  • Problem is that we now are spending 53% of GDP on the public sector, effectively taxing everyone 80% of everything they earn to pay for the 1 in 7 who now work for the government, or put another way it take six people working 80% of their lives to pay the overblown wages of one government worker.

At the same time we're seeing manufacting disappearing, along with the millions of low waged service jobs.

The unions want to drag Britain into the gutter, it's part of their grand marxist plan.

  • I used to be on strike like you, then I took an arrow to the knee

  • i'm sorry but i just have to say...."IT'SA ME MARIO!"

  • I'm just here for the Mustache.

  • @jamesvolunteer Greatest Movember moustache ever!

  • if these ppl were full time union minded ppl equality would be their first proirity. so lets have them on minimum wage and no penions.. or is it more a case of reccession what reccession ..not in my pay packet

  • a 67 year old graphics teacher? LIKELY

  • you wanna do a week on a building site matey, then see how you feel.most tradesmen i work with have not got a pension at all,and the pay is shit cos we being undercut by foreign workers.

  • Everyone is feeling the squeeze - this isn't unique to each of us and these cuts need to be made unless we are to increase the UK's HUGE debt.

Nevertheless if the MPs cut their pensions they might not look so bad (although Ed Milliband is certainly as eager to avoid this as George Osborne.)

  • People who will "Like" the videos on the strike are ones off school! :D

The "Dislikes" are ones from the govenment.

  • @TheSimpsonsWorld i dont work for the Government? Why should the tax payers pay for the public sector's pensions? So we can fund your early retirement and sky subscription? Give me a break, you strikers need a reality check because the last time I checked EVERYONE is facing wage cuts and redundancies.

  • @scooterok1 Excuse me, government workers pay taxes too, so in effect are paying their own pensions and everyone has the right to retire, when you chose your career path, you could of gone into the public sector and got a pension and a retirement at 65, but you chose the private sector. So let these people choose to strike and have their say, its what they are entitled too. If you were striking in the private sector you'd expect us to let you get on with your strike and have your say

  • @scooterok1 so let these people have their say. Maybe if you payed more in taxes so that I could have my university place paid for, how would that make you feel? You wouldn't like it and unlike most students, I'm happy enough to pay £9,000 for my degree to become a teacher and at thee end of my career I'd expect a pesion andd retirment, being a teacher is more than standing in classroom for 6 hours a day, 5 days a week, 39 weeks of the year.

  • @dinosaursanddaisys What about the planning and prep time, meetings, marking, parents evenings? These all happen during evenings and weekend and school holidays, they don't get paid for this time, when a brick layer finishes work for the day, he's finished he can go home put his feet up. A teacher can't, a teacher has to prepare for the following day so the children can make a career for themselves and so does a teacher not deserve a retirment and pension? I think they do.

  • @dinosaursanddaisys Including all the additional prep time they do, its still not a bad job. Its still a job at least rather than the millions of other people in this country, i bet most of them would rather have your job and take a pay cut and do more hours than wasting their lives away at home

  • @scooterok1 Do you have any idea how hard it is to control a class of 30 kids and actually try and give them a decent education? Including spending all of your night marking and making lesson plans! Teachers pay tax, student loans and pension contributions, where as most private sector workers dont pay into a scheme. Dont blame public sector workers join a trade union and fight for equal rights having them at a dissadvantage WILL NOT help you full stop!

  • @liamconnelly1987 All teachers should know about the challenges they face before investing several years at Uni, and getting into debt to learn, and then working in a school. True, most private sector workers don't pay into a scheme. It's because they can't afford to. I agree in principal that pensions are not a thing to be messed about with, but a lot of people would give their right leg to have a Teachers job right now, and to them the strike seems insensitive at times I think....tbc

  • @liamconnelly1987 I really don't think the 'teaching is hard' argument is a valid one, when most teachers spend so much effort to get into it, and many private sector workers find themselves in a dead end job, with shift work, nights etc, with no chance of any benefits, and just have to get on with it. Often, ironically, because their education let them down. A strike would have gone down better if the playing field was actually even in the first place. In my opinion.

  • @jamesvolunteer Private sector workers need to fight for their own rights, they need to join unions and get whats owed to them! Your gripe should be against the £120 billion that is getting evaded by the richest people in this country. . Making a teacher/dinnerlady/lollypop lady/civil servant work longer for less does not benefit you in anyway. Please private sector workers join unions and gets what owed, dont kill off the public sector

  • @liamconnelly1987 I agree in principal, but the fact is that private sector unions are totally useless in a lot of cases. And we have to remember that the mess we are in now was partially funded by the very unions that organised this strike. Although I agree with the public sectors complaints, I disagree with striking at this time. It's a weird position to be in, but I guess everyone will have a different take depending on what they do.

  • @liamconnelly1987 The fact of the matter is that in a recession everyone should be defiant together, not divided 50 50 according to their job. We're all playing into their hands currently I fear.

  • @jamesvolunteer the idea that because worker treatment in the private sector is worse public sector workers shouldn't moan is even more redundant. You don't lower the standards of one set of people, you raise the standards of the others. In the apartheid to make Black people equal you didn't take the vote away from white people you gave it to black people.

  • Comment removed

  • @jamesvolunteer At the same time I don't really think the 'private sector jobs are hard' argument is really relevant. It's not exactly fair to treat public sector workers unfairly just because private sector workers are. Surely the logical step would be supporting private sector workers as opposed to putting down the public sector.

  • Comment removed

  • @Erased92 I just wrote a defensive reply to that and deleted it. Yes, I agree with you. I kind of said exactly that over the course of a few comments. I'm just trying to draw a comparison if it sounds like I'm slagging the public sector off. I've worked in it myself in fact, up until a few years ago.

  • @jamesvolunteer Ah sorry mate I probably should have read back a bit. it wasn't so much trying to say you were wrong anyway; i've just heard that argument bandied about too much by private sector workers.

  • @Erased92 No probs. Yeah, this issue desperately needs more people looking at it objectively, from both sides. I can't help feeling that the g/ment are secretly rubbing their hands over all this for some reason.

  • @dinosaursanddaisys Teachers get a salary. Bricklayers get paid hourly. So when they (the Bricklayers) are 'putting their feet up', they're not getting paid, unlike Teachers in the summer hols for example. And they (teachers) at least do get an employers pension, and a decent retirement package (granted, not as attractive now), unlike the same Bricky, that has to arrange it privately, or just get what the state gives them.

  • the country cant be that skint when the government can spend BILLIONS on nuclear weapons that we don't need. oh one of the biggest donations to the Tory party election campaign was from an international arms dealer. he,l get his massive bonus when we go to war with Iran,
