  • You are a very beautiful lady with a nice touch. You play with sensitivity and grace but a bit soporific. Remember, Gershwin was partly a jazz pianist who invented his own set of rules. He mixed tempos & combined various forms of music. Please check out Richard Glazier. I think you might appreciate his approach. You really look gorgeous at the piano.

  • Wonderful pianist! I was in her cheering section at the Van Cliburn. Most impressed.

About this Gershwin--would suggest moving it along a bit more. Too slow and

audience loses concentration, line is lost. Take it easier--this is an intimate

ballad not a grand concert piece. Mariangela would do great justice to the Earl

    Wild arrangements of Gershwin.

  • Mariangela should have been awared the GOLD in the Van Cliburn competition. The judges got it wrong.

  • I agree!

  • BRAVO! :-))

  • @unahennessy

What makes you think? Is the opposit....

  • What a stupid comment ... like most of the ones from North America on YouTube or anywhere.

  • Extraordinario de sutil belleza que nos invita a soñar .Mas imposible, elegancia ,cuerpo, muyyyyyyyyyyy pero muyyyyyyyyyyy bello .

  • ma è stupenda!!!

  • Best rendition I've heard so far for this piece, clean cut and good.

  • very nice, however the melody is notated as dotted eight sixteenth note figures...she's playing them as eights :(

  • @licoricestic idd..

  • @licoricestic artistic license, I think..I play his second prelude in and out of time (1, because I have ridicously small pixie hands, and 2, George loved fucking around with other people's tunes, esp. with duration and dynamic; what goes around, comes around). I think her dynamics need a going over though.

  • So smooth and delicate her awesome performance, 'The Man I Love". She

should have earned a medal some how!

  • @dakinespam145

Yes ! so better than many versions we can hear on YouTube...

  • this is a good rendition of gerswin's piece. it's a girl's piece really... ...nostalgic, isn't it?

  • I play this song, too, and it was nice to see someone other's performence. Mabye I wouldn't "enjoy" the middle part so much, :) but the woman played great.

  • A beautiful performance of a beautiful piece by an amazing pianist.

  • She's AMAZING!!! No doubt.

  • Back here again to hear a pianist I love play "The Man I Love"....wonderful!

  • Beautiful film !

  • Uno dei maggiori talentoni in circolazione.

  • superbe de musicalité

  • written in 1924 and still sounds exquisite today.

  • is this your own transcription? I guess Earl Wild's one is the most performed. contrats

  • i believe its gershwins own arrangement of the song, and its from the book "meet george gershwin at the keyboard"

  • Brava Mariangela! This is the best Gershwin interpretations I have heard! Love it so much!

  • can't believe this piece has become one of ABRSM's exam pieces (2009-10 grade 8)

  • You're lying!? It's also part of the repetoire for Diploma in Piano Performance :S

  • Yes it is but you are also required to play 'I got rhythm' too.

  • Comment removed

  • yeah. I'm definately excited to perform that at the exams!

  • Gershwin and Vacatello - perhaps worlds a part but combined together, what a world they create! Superbly sensitive and so very real! I heard Vacatello yesterday in the SIPCA - wonderful!

  • very beautiful, congratulations!

  • ma perche nn posso???

  • io la amo!!voglio invitarla a cena quando suona qui a milano..posso?

  • Assolutamente NO !

  • @nufenenpass AHAHAHAHAH XD

  • una esecuzione che tocca il cuore e ti fa vibrare.... complimenti Mariangela!!
