You are a very beautiful lady with a nice touch. You play with sensitivity and grace but a bit soporific. Remember, Gershwin was partly a jazz pianist who invented his own set of rules. He mixed tempos & combined various forms of music. Please check out Richard Glazier. I think you might appreciate his approach. You really look gorgeous at the piano.
@licoricestic artistic license, I think..I play his second prelude in and out of time (1, because I have ridicously small pixie hands, and 2, George loved fucking around with other people's tunes, esp. with duration and dynamic; what goes around, comes around). I think her dynamics need a going over though.
I play this song, too, and it was nice to see someone other's performence. Mabye I wouldn't "enjoy" the middle part so much, :) but the woman played great.
Gershwin and Vacatello - perhaps worlds a part but combined together, what a world they create! Superbly sensitive and so very real! I heard Vacatello yesterday in the SIPCA - wonderful!

Wonderful pianist! I was in her cheering section at the Van Cliburn. Most impressed.
About this Gershwin--would suggest moving it along a bit more. Too slow and
audience loses concentration, line is lost. Take it easier--this is an intimate
ballad not a grand concert piece. Mariangela would do great justice to the Earl
Wild arrangements of Gershwin.

Mariangela should have been awared the GOLD in the Van Cliburn competition. The judges got it wrong.

Best rendition I've heard so far for this piece, clean cut and good.

very nice, however the melody is notated as dotted eight sixteenth note figures...she's playing them as eights :(

So smooth and delicate her awesome performance, 'The Man I Love". She
should have earned a medal some how!

is this your own transcription? I guess Earl Wild's one is the most performed. contrats

i believe its gershwins own arrangement of the song, and its from the book "meet george gershwin at the keyboard"
