Maybe the most beautiful live performance I ever listened to. Outstanding. I'm so glad to have stumbled over this. Thanks for uploading. I also like the folks seeming absolutely relaxed and in their own worlds, as they listen. Simply beautiful.
How lucky we were to have lived and loved and been so AWARE during the 60's. We knew even then it was the best years. Thank the Lord for those times, when all of us were young and brorhers and sisters, and we smiled everyday.
Guthrie - you're a genius!! and what a voice!! When you playing the UK again?? Don't forget Nettlebed Folk Club or Gorinunplugged when you plan your trip!
(video response) this piece of styrofoam came bobbing so gracefully down the river and I thought of Arlo's song -catching - not to mention 'littering'. If you see Bob Dylan carrying around a bit of duck-like litter, tell him that I'd let that one go by me
With any luck you'll have plenty of hair at that age. Mine is as long but very grey. It's a good thing. Oh Woodstock was so long ago, I was still a teenager
I LOVE his long gray hair blowin in the wind. You ask, "How do u go from that to this so fast"? FAST? It's been 40 years! Unless we died young (too many did), none of us from the Woodstock Nation look like we did back then. Remember, you can do your thing til your time runs out!
So true. I just said elsewhere, oddly enough, that he's a national treasure. Then I wondered to myself what he'd think of that comment. But seeing that you said it too, well, I feel better about it.
I think it's true. He really is a national treasure.
Saw Arlo in summer of 2005 in Newport Rhode Island my former home state and Arlo didn't play this tune regretfully but was still great. And man can he tell a story, probably as entertaining as his music are his hillarious pre song stories........he's an original......Arlo keep moving man.
One of my favourite songs. Going to see him Oct 25. I hope he does this song. Have all his early albums from the 70"s. I have great respect for the legends who play the small halls and dont forget there roots.
I LOVE this song. I wouldn't say I really understand it fully, but I love it. (Hey! He cut out the line about the father and brothers and sisters!) Love the kid in the poncho dancing and the girl in the beret "zoning."
Beautiful...My love for American folk music began with the songs of Woody Guthrie and reading the story of his life. This is one of my favourite songs...still have Last of the Brooklyn Cowboys on vynl
I've been a fan for many years..I can't remember a time when I didn't know Alice's Restaurant or the Motorcycle song..but this is by far his best most beautiful song..I just love it..thank you for posting it!
@dfmep No, not under rated at all. Arlo is just in a class of his very own - He is an icon, beyond any superficial rating by people who don't know or even care about him, his family, or his music.
Is there a version of arlo's song-Last to leave anywhere.Sung by him

Check this guy out playing at Woodstock.
So young and cute, how do u go from that to this so fast. He still talented, but he looked much better as a brunet!!

No way! He looks cool as hell with that grey hair! I'd grow a long grey mane right now if I could. I hope I can someday.

I believe it refers to the death of his father Woody, Arlo would have been about 20.
