  • More Hints: Find a “You Pick” place during Season for fruits and veggies. Organic seems more expensive but due to the higher nutritional value (up to 3000x more per item) you will eat less. Cheaper by the case if you get a group of friends together for produce. International Markets & Trader Joe’s are very budget friendly. Beans for sweet or savory humus (T.J. .89 a can organic). Think Nationality for rice, lentils, barley, & quinoa themed salads, s/a Greek Lentil or Pico de Gallo Rice.

  • can you please do some healthy recipes? thanks :) xxx

  • I thought of making fried noodles, I might have to fry them at high heat, issit save to put them in the freezer for a week still?

  • this is a wonderful video! thanks Rachel, so much good advice!

  • Thank you

  • i honestly dont have time for cooking. i just buy pre-packaged food. like literally i buy everything pre-package. being a university student really sucks. but good thing my mom pays for my grocery. obviously she wants me to focus on cooking instead of cooking lol

  • hi luvie i just wanted to ask if u could maybe make a video(or just message me lol) about how to create a budget plan, now that im in college i realize ive been spending a lot of money(im not in debt but id like to learn how to make a budget so that i do not become in debt)

    xoxoKira

  • Hey Rach. Here is my problem:

I'm one of the chunkier girls on my cheer team. Since I started losing weight in August I went from 159 to 148.

HOWEVER, basketball season is strarting and I'm going to have to stay til about 10 P.M at school 4 days a week! Heres my typical day: Wake up at 6, leave to school at 7:20, Practice at 2:45 to 6, then games from 6:30 to 10 P.M. How do I find time to workout and what types of things should I take with me to eat? I will not be going home inbetween.

  • Why the HECK have I not found you before today?! I can honestly say after watching just a couple of your videos, your quite possibly my new favorite guru! I am excited to watch them all :) by the way, are you partner? If not, you're well on your way!

  • you are actually my idol. your amazing!

  • Hi Rachel! I know you said you're between jobs right now, so what do you currently work as, and what are you switching to? Right now I work at my college's Kinesiology department as a work study, and I don't like it.

  • Rache I love your video :-)

"superfoods" for dummies is an awesome book! I recommend that to everyone :)

  • such good advice ^^ i will do this when i'll be living on my own in 2/3 months :) i will also be on a budget because school is so expensive :(

  • Why don't you like using microwaves? :) x x x

  • Such Great tips, love them,& i think waters best too!!

  • Also a great tip, is when you do want to buy those out of season fruits, buy them frozen. A big bag will cost about $12 which seems like a lot of money for 1 item. I know that where I live, a tiny tiny container of berries will cost nearly $5 out of season, when you will get literally more than 6x what you would have got with the small container for just twice the price! To me, a person who LOVES fruit, this is an awesome tip! Thumbs up! x o

  • @ElleSmalls So true! Also, when fruit IS in season and on sale I'll buy a ton and freeze it (I find this is best for berries like blueberries that tend to taste better fresh!)

  • @RachhLoves i do that too!

  • I really like this video. I favorited it so I can go back to it!

  • Instead of buying candy chop fruit n freeze it ESP stawberries n watermelon they go super sweet n stop that sugar craving bananas even taste like ice cream wen frozen this tip always helps me wen I'm losing weight.

  • wow! u had some great tips I never thought of! =)

  • I'm a college student and I'm living off campus so I'm always on a budget (even if I'm working 2 part-time jobs...)

I'm using pretty much the same method to eat healthy AND save some money, my record is 25€/week (What is VERY low for Rome,Italy..)

    Great video !

  • you're beautiful smart and know how to shop for food so well you are a so versitle! you are like a pro on this thanks so much for sharing!

  • Great tips!

  • can you put glass in the freezer?

  • sometimes its hard to eat at home all the time. Can you do a video on healthy fast food/eating out alternatives?

  • Great tips! Thanks! What is your job?

  • Comment removed

  • Great tips, thank you :)

  • I buy the pre-made dinners when they're on sale. Its not worth it when they're not.

Hmm. I wanna go make my lunch for tomorrow now. xD

  • I love your videos; especially the ones on healthy living. I have a wacky schedule that doesn't really allow me to eat meals at the traditional noon and evening times. I'm mostly on the go (i.e. in my car or between classes). So I was wondering if you have any food tips for meals/substantial snacks on the go that don't need to be warmed-up? Thanks!

  • Do u eat clean Rach??

  • Can't wait to follow these tips! Great video :) it definitely can be challenging when you're a student with a limited budget. Food at home is even more satisfying when you're the one who cooked that delicious meal!

  • SODA

  • lol i HATE using microwaves!! the whole idea of sending "micro waves" to heat up food grosses me out! haha

  • Hey could you do a video on how to get rid of or cover up under-eye circles? I'm struggling very much with this problem! Thanks soo much!!!

  • @LKDCLH123 use a concealer that is a shade or two darker than your skin colour (something orange coloured) and dab it on in a rolling motion then use a powder (if you have combination to oily skin) but if you have dry skin, you don't need to.

look in the mirror at an angle with your head facing downwards so that you can still see the mirror (this helps you identify where the dark circles are)

  • @CaliHco86 The eyeshadow quad in my October Favourites Video! :)

  • do you freeze vegetables too when you want to store it for the week? (hope that make sense)

  • @girlymoomoo888 Nope I just use them up :P I buy frozen veggies for things like stirfrys, pasta, etc :)

  • Is there any reason in particular you don't like using microwaves?

I just subscribed last night by the way, and I love your channel, =]

  • @KlassyAndFabulous YAY! Thanks babe! Umm, I'm not sure! I used to use it and then Chris' mom told me its really bad for you and ruins all the nutrients in food so I just stopped using it lol

  • @RachhLoves Yeah, that's what I was curious about. I just looked it up and it seems like that's right. I basically use the microwave for everything... so this is going to be an interesting change. lol

  • link for seasonall ?

  • ok. you look GORGEOUS in this video!

  • you can't even say that dairy is health food. dairy isn't meant to be drunk by humans. it's for baby calves that turn into 400 pound cows. last time i checked it wouldn't be healthy for humans to weigh that much. also, meat and dairy both make your blood acidic, which is fatal. if you're wondering why we don't die immediately after eating those things it's because our bodies can balance out the acidity, but it's because our bones are releasing things to alkalize our blood. this weakens our bones

  • @stephlovesthejobros wow, really? thats horrible!! i thought dairy strenghtened our bones.

  • @pamela9994 yes really. the calcium should be strengthening our bones but it doesn't get absorbed because our bones have to fight back against the acidity in our blood, and we can't even store the excess calcium for later! milk = bad for you.

  • @stephlovesthejobros

    No. Really!? -gasps-

That means yogurt is bad. You can't eat most of the food available today in the US since it'll contain milk, butter, meat (omg!) or anything else that might relate to cows. Wow. Thank you for the information because most of us totally didn't know. And it's amazing that you can get internet connection from that cave your living in. Oh oh. Be careful with anything relating to corn, US water, seafood, GMO products, and maybe eggs. Have fun in the cave!<3

  • @LeLuKiBoX how is milk bad?? i understand meat and those damn burgers and other junk in US these days, but milk?? are u joking? no wonder these kids are fat and with weak bones these days! >.>

  • @Nightberrii haha nice :)

  • @Nightberrii

Oh. You misunderstood me. I was replying to another person's comment regarding how milk is bad in the way that she was describing and therefore discredited the gal who made this video.

As far as milk is concerned, it is not the best fit for human to consume because it is harder to digest. The biggest problem however is the level of hormones in the milk. To get calcium, a person doesn't need to drown him/herself in milk because it's readily available in plants, like seaweed.

  • @Nightberrii

And how much your body absorbs calcium depends on how much your body needs it base on how much you exercise and the weight that your bones need to support, like through strengthening exercises.

  • @LeLuKiBoX yogurt is actually bad for you, and if it's pasteurized (most is) then all the probiotics are dead. i'm vegan so i don't have to worry about eating anything related to animals, and i don't buy anything if it's not organic, so i don't have to worry about gmos. corn isn't bad for you unless it's genetically modified so if i buy organic then i'm fine. oh and yes, i get enough internet to do a quick google search on that stuff, but apparently you don't.

  • @stephlovesthejobros what are you talking about they always say drink milk for strong bones and meat is necessary if you are low on protien you hair can fall out!

  • @schnauzergirl43 you don't need milk for protein. you can get protein from almost anywhere else. also, since it's harder to digest animal protein, and undigested protein causes disease, then meat and dairy lead to disease, like cancer. just do a quick google search of non animal (or vegan) sources of calcium, or "does dairy make your blood acidic" before you comment again. thanks!

  • @stephlovesthejobros i know you need milk for calcium its the meat you need for protien. and i dont drink milk either it tastes like butt cheeks so i dont really care if you do or not but i dont think i have ever even heard of a person dying from milk acidity haha i think most milk drinkers would risk it and you live once i think its alright to eat a steak once in a while seriously...thanks!!

  • @schnauzergirl43 there are vegan replacements for everything. if you want chicken, you can have vegan "chicken." if you want beef stroganoff, you can have vegan "beef" stroganoff. it tastes the same, if not better!

  • @schnauzergirl43 also, it's not really protein that would make your hair fall out. if your iron deficient then your hair would thin but if you google some sources of iron, the best sources of iron are vegan, so you really don't need any animal products in your diet. also also, since they're vegan and not from animals, then they're cholesterol free! =)

  • @stephlovesthejobros um i have researched it low protien WILL make your hair fall out and it makes sense since your hair is protien how about you google it! :)

  • @schnauzergirl43 you haven't heard of people dying from acidic blood (aka "milk acidity" as you like to call it) because it's better know as dying from "natural causes." also i agree with you in that most milk drinkers would risk their lives for it because of the casein in dairy. casein is pretty much a drug that makes you feel good when you have it. it's also in breast milk and it makes babies attracted to their mothers. [1/2]

  • @schnauzergirl43 it's higher in cheese though which is why people would give up milk before cheese. also, you can easily get protein (and ANY other nutrient, mineral or vitamin) from plant based sources. you don't need to drink milk or eat eggs and meat! it's completely unnecessary! for example, you can have twice as much protein and way more servings of tofu than eggs for the same amount of calories, and you don't get the bad cholesterol. vegan = the only healthy food that makes sense. [2/2]

  • Love your channel, and I can't see why you say you're pale! you look tan in your videos!
