Usually it is said that excavator can escape from any possible situation by using it's arm, if engine is running /able to be kept running. So I think that some of workers might have not had enough balls to get the machine up from mudhole. I don't blame them, propably I would chicken too in some cases.

I've pushed it to the limit myself and haven't been seriously bit yet knock on wood but this video humbles me big time because it could have been me or someone I know very easily.Something as simple as a pair of ramps could have saved the dozer operators life so think before you act and be careful!! After 30 years of excavating if I could only share one thing that I know with you always try to keep your tracks strait in front of you on the idler end .Thanks' Mitch for a great video!!

Carrying out a silly risk assessment has been proved to be a statistically unsound practice. Its the sign of the stupid times we live in. WAKE UP. Just tell the boss to do it himself.

Appearantly the hoisting equipment malfunctioned and snapped a ling?¿ (not sure about the name. woven strand of hoisting equipment like 15ft long)

And dropped this excavator like 25meters down. no1 got hurt. as no1 is allowed down the hold when hoisting ;)

Last picture didn't look very nice :( 200 meters from my ex job, a construction crane fell off from it's rails, because end limiters hadn't been mounted or tightened. Crane collapsed towards 5 floors apartment building's balcony, it was constructing. Operator died crushed between the balcony and destroyed operator cabin. :(
