all that happens is when i make a brush it just shows up as wire frame i want to view it as the brush is.

Ohh i got same problem but just click on the tab "view" and select "3D shaded textured polygons"

Its probably your 3d viewport. In your 3d viewport where it says camera, click on it and select textured or shaded.

when i create a object its not thextured with nothing even with the dev texture.

I've used hammer with css and dod:S etc. Whenever I try to load up hammer in the authoring tools it freezes any ideas as to why this is happening would be appreciated.

Try giving it a little more time. It takes about a 1-2 minutes my pc for hammer to start.

yeah same thing for me it doesn't give me the materials/textures. it comes out just like cheatmaster said... well mine is red and yellow. it won't show the surface materials!! help

Does it render when you compile and looks fine?

I was having the same problem til I just figured it out.

1. Go to your top left black box (Camera Box)

2. Right click it

3. Select 3D Textured

And it should appear for you.

when i make the floor the texture is not there and it gives me black with a yellow out line what do i do to fix this?
