  • really superb....what chords? may I ask? A Dan Fan.

  • Nice playing, and a fabulous song. He's still missed.

  • this is my fav song by him!!! btw u have a good voice, anyway i can get this tab??

  • Ah, this is such a pretty song, so nice on (what otherwise could be) a stressful Fri afternoon. Wonderful to hear another rendition of Dan's compositions. Thank you;-)

  • Thank you. I hope to record a 'better' version of it soon.

  • What a lovely song, and you played it so well. It's not an easy one to sing, you did that beautifully too.

Hearing all these songs again, after so many years...singing along, remembering all the words, surprising. His music had a big impact on me-as on countless others.

    And yet, no Grammy(s)?

Thank you for wonderful post, can I look forward to more, please?

  • Also I meant to mention some great news about Dan's music. Don't know if you've heard yet, but Dan's wife, Jean, is releasing a song he wrote for her in 2005. It will be available for download on Feb 14th, with all proceeds going to the Prostate Cancer Foundation. And there will be a new CD coming out later this year! I am really grateful to Jean. She has been amazing and wonderful! To read her new message on Dan's site, click on the News page.

  • That IS cool. Hopefully it will be as nice as when Neil Young wrote Harvest Moon for his wife. That is one of my faves.

  • Harvest Moon....absolutely! Classic Neil love song. Do you play it? Love to hear your version, if you do.

I heard Dan's new song on the radio last night. Very mellow, tender love song. Not quite Harvest Moon.....more akin to Believe in Me, but it has it's own sound. Was just beautiful to hear his voice again....feel his presence. Jean's generosity in sharing it, makes it all the more touching. I know it will always have a place in my heart.

  • Really nice job on this, by the way. Think I forgot to mention that. Thanks for sharing it. I've been trying to play this myself, but not doing too well.

  • Nice to know that you're a player as well. Do you think you will post sometime? Would you like some more help with the chords. I don't know how to do 'tabs' online, but I bought a cool rubber stamp so I can make tabs on paper and share them with people.

    BTW, my name is Mark.

  • Thanks Mark. And yeah, I play, just not very well - and that's putting it mildly. I don't think I'll be posting any of me playing. I can assure you, you wouldn't want to hear it. I've always loved playing, and I keep working at it, but I still stink. I could always use more help with the chords. It's hard to see exactly what your playing in the video, but it definitly helps. (and btw, I liked calling you LA - sounded cool - haha)

  • I think a lot of artists struggle with this problem. Dan addresses part of it in the intro to to "Believe in Me". Once grateful to have captured the essence of part of their life's journey, they tire of returning there as a matter of rote rather than true reflection.

  • Yeah, I'm sure that's true too. It would be hard to play a song with the same emotion you once had, after you've gone beyond that part of the journey.

  • Love this song LA. And I too always wished Dan would've played more of the deeper album cuts in his later shows, rather than so many of the hits. I guess he tried to balance his shows for both sets of fans, but sometimes I think he may have underestimated the number of us who appreciate those songs.
