  • great start...would like to correct u....its not a parade....its baraat in indian tradition....where we welcome our indian bride with pride.....

  • It's great fun

  • You might get invited to Lunch/Diner. That is normal in India. In Sanskrit it is said "Atithi Devo Bhavah" =Guest is like a Deva. Deva means noble and is opposite to Rakhshas[demon].

From September to January it is festival time in India. If you go to Mumbai ...Ganesh Festival would start .Then starts Navaratri = 9 nights festival..dances and fun on streets. This you can see in Mumbai and Gujrat. Then comes Dushera [Mysore is good]and then Diwali[Main festival-anywhere in India] .

  • @karn2007 : Yup, its happened to me, it was a small town, we decided to stay one nite, with a group of 23 of us went for 4 X 4 tour in south India, including 6 mountain trails, we were filming a marriage possession, which happened on that day, and the bride's father, the old man, came personally to us and asked us to attend the wedding the next day early morning (5.00 am !!), he is the village chief it seems, we were given royal treatment, I recalled the athi devo bhava seen in Incredible India!
