Nope, most of the recient "Survuval Horror" games are just action games, with goofy looking baddies. Take RE5 for an example. and theres Dead Space, FEAR 2... ect ect.

The OLD Silent Hill games were a true survival horror if you ask me, Team Silent understood what fear was, but then Double Helix screwed it up by making it action based, things like the original Pyramid Head from two and the naked baby demon things from one were fear incarnate, the world has not seen as frightening a series as Silent Hill

Yeah, there have been quite a few good gems Silent Hill was one of 'em too. If you gets a chance, check out Penumbra, that might not be as scary as Silent Hill, but it's a really good game. Its very tense, trust me.
