They chose action over Daniel's time travel explanations? Idiots. What he said in the final version made no sense at all. This version still makes little sense, but at least made MORE sense and made Jack and Kate seemed like less of a sheep.
i think they choose to make a shorter version of this scene for this only reason:
To keep the "desperate" air from Daniel, that makes us wonder if Daniel was a little nuts when he decides to detonate the H bomb. This long speech gives him credibility, and shows him as perfectly sane (mentally), what should dissuades us from all especulation.

there will be more juliet but sawyer is going to kill her when she tries to kill kate. juliet is going to come back possessed with evil. evil can only get into people that were evil in the first place. juliet is and was always evil, thats is why jacob didnt bless her.
