cool, awesom job, but i kina agree with deanguitarsown. the headstock is really nice, it looks good on the guitar, but it is used a little to much. anyways i love your guitar!!!
Hi I really need to know about the les paul pickups, I've tried finding out about the speakers behind the pickups but can't find any information anywhere, What do they do? does it work? and if they are good where can I get some?

@iglitchhalo2 your so right, after completing my first one i had this ich to build a better one and top myself, its such a great feeling to creating something personal with your own hands!
yo wtf is your problem? do you know how fucking hard it is to build a guitar? especially the way he did it without a router and shit? go be a man and learn how to do something productive with your hands that doesn't involve touching yourself.
first of all, iglitchhalo2's response was completely childish and unneeded. But seriously, the headstock is his choice. If you dont like it, go and build your own showing what you prefer. Dont just go around hating.
Yo Aaron you make alot of guitars can you tell me if I build a LP Junior with Pine will it catch on fire from the pickup? If so should I pad the pickup cavity with rubber or some other non conductive material.
fire! are you serious? most pickups output less than 1V, it could not set off flammable gas let alone dry wood, so would have no problem there. Apart from that pine would be a very bad wood because of its low density & weight, this would give short sustain and poor tone. You need dense heavy wood for a good guitar eg: mahogany, maple, oak, walnut, teak, alder, ash, swamp ash. I also think you need to read more about the workings of electric guitars because of your safety concerns,...............

vulta. suck my left nut. gibson is the BEST. fender sucks. they make copies of the same guitar with the same shit. gibson has many diffrent pickups to chose from and better shapes.
honestly, you think gibson makes a larger variety? although i do love that one set neck 2 vol 2 tone, 3way HH guitar they make. the one with the tuneomatic bridge and stoptailpiece. remember that one?
Cool...although if a flying V HAS to have a trem I THINK(not demand) it should be a floyd locking or kahler...But I think V's don't need trem's there perfect with fixed =)
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
personaly, i think that if you're going to build a guitar, you should build an original design, because you can't make a gibson copy that would be as high of quality of a gibson. if you want a flying v, then buy a gibson made one.
that is very very NOT true. gibsons are not really that high of quality. you are paying for the name. my guitars i build are far better than gibsons, and you can make any options you want and change them to whatever you like.
Gibsons are defiantly good guitars but are not worth the money, you are right it is just the name people pay for. something i would criticise both Gibson and fender for is using very basic pickup selections, i think that the best tones come from more unusual split coil combinations.
lets all start a protest by buying plywood guitars, then top brands will be forced to reduce prices, spread the word, remember you heard it here first.
welll fender is coming out with some very forward thinking wirings. the jaguar, mustang are old examples, but they now make teles with series and out of phase sounds, and strats with all the parralel pickup combinations and series tones. although i have a fender jag hh which i did some mods to with give it a total of 9 pickup combinations. youre not limited to stock wiring. also this guy called deaf-eddie makes a rotary switch for strats which gives 11 diferent pickup combos.
if you look carefully at the finished picture you will notice that i curantly only have 5 strings, il post a video of it being played as soon as i get more strings. ps look out for 'how i built my les paul' coming soon
:O It looks really amazing :D I always loved natural guitars :D I don't really like the headstock :/ but its your guitar :)

what were your dimensions for the body?
keithgatti 1 year ago
You can buy these in the USA at rmolsonguitars add the dot come or just do a search for R M Olson Guitars
You can get LP's SG's Flying V's and Explorers.
These are made out of real mahogany bodies not the cheap poplar or basswood.
The LP's have flamed maple tops and multi layer binding and come with set necks. You can even get ebony fretboard and a choice of fretboard markers!
