  • Just brilliant, sir.

  • damn that was nice

  • top dude

  • Sick!

  • Good playing. Not EVH tone though...

  • Great playing. In fact, a player of your caliber deserves something better than a Line 6...

  • Thanks! I actually have 4 amps now, a 5150, a framus Cobra, a JCA20H and a dual rectifier. Stepped up somewhat from the line 6! I still stand by the spider valve series as a geniunely decent amp though!

  • @chrism3006 You are a lucky man to have that gear. I want a 6505+ like you wouldn't believe. Lol. Keep on rockin, bro!

  • @Seandude223 Normally I'd agree, but the HD 100 is a simply fantastic. Company finally did something right ha ha ha. I absolutely love mine and I'm def a Line-6 hater.

  • @ihventura Hm...I may have to head over to a GuitarCenter to try one out...thanks for the reply!

  • hey dude great playing remind me of satch haha anyway im really considering getting this amp but im concerned it will loose tone if turned up really loud does anyone know if that happens?

  • That was sweeet.

  • Great sound! How do you recommend this amp? How exactly did you record from the amp?

  • Not bad :)

I like to see the younger guns out there playing the good stuff

  • AWESOME TONE!

  • Nice tone. Like it :)

  • nice shredding

  • Dude that's great! For once its someone that isn't trying to sound just like Van Halen, but instead has been influenced by him and incorporated some of his style into their playing to put a new spin on things.

Good job man! Keep it up!

  • I lovemy prestige,,, sweetass neck

  • How do you records using the direct out?

  • everyone knows to play halen you have to be drunk! shame! lol

  • Sounds more like a Steve Vai sound. The sound is good, it just reminds of Vai more than Van Halen.

  • Your amazing!

  • That sounded great! The sound was pretty damn good. I just picked up midi mobilized (line 6) for my iPhone and cannot get it to record thru my POD X3 LIVE.

Any clue? I updated all drivers etc ....

  • i got the same amp, how did you get record from it????? what program did you use??

  • Nice work man! Great playing and tone!!!

  • Hi dude, i have a question if you dont mind.I have the same amp nthe the MkII pedalboard, how do i record into pc with that like you do?

  • ohh men, what is this guitar???

  • Great playing and tone.

  • sound bad !!!!

  • good job man!

  • What song is this? i can't get the tune out of my head!!!

  • absolutly un fucking balievable that is amazing

  • good job

  • Nice! Ibanez is awesome, my friend has an awesome Ibanez hollowbody guitar, to go along with a Vox Valvetronix amplifier, it sounds great

  • my god your amazing you make everything sound so clean

  • Damn bear claw hands... =)

  • un fucking believable that was amazing

  • definitely gonna buy this amp ust fr the direct outs. no more shitty sound techs =)

  • That's some great playing man!

  • Sounds nothing like Van Halen.. but nice playing. I'm just not a fan of the fake sounding Line 6/emulated amp tones.

  • @hvrock13 actually most of the amp models sound really close to the original, its how you tweak them. just listen to my videos .. their done with a pod x3

  • that was sick! loved it!

  • why don't you use the van halen preset on the amp?

  • The sound is really nice !!! I have the spider valve 112.

You manage to control the annoying high frequencies and bring the sound up front..very good articulation of the notes and overall perfect midrange sound for solo..Excellent!

    I have two questions

    1. how do you use the boost?

    2. do you have choices of speaker emulation in line out?

  • nice dude

  • O_O....... :O........... YAY!

  • You should upload your settings to the line 6 site.

  • Doesn't really sound like a Brown Sound... But a great tone nonetheless!

  • I like the amp

  • Where do you set the presence knob?

  • What's the verdict on this amp? I feel like I'm doing the wrong thing somehow if I don't get an all tube amp.

The versatility appeals to me of this amp and I won't be able to play loud and get the tubes warm so to speak.

    Is this amp like that?

  • @suzuki15 The Spider Valve is a tube amp so yes you will be able to play loud and get the tubes warm sound.

  • dude, you make it look so easy...nice work fella..!

  • Dude! U sound like Dweezil Zappa! (That's a compliment!) Nice! How old in this vid?

  • choad

  • wow. that backing track is gay. Are you doing a song on the new rainbow surfers soundtrack or what.

  • I think you're just Eddie Van Halen in a costume. :)

  • well done!!

  • DUDE! YOU'RE AWESOME! and you really captured the van halen sound if you ask me ;)

  • Line 6 stuff is too thin sounding. get a Marshall and a Variac set to 93 volts

  • @PhuckHue2

Marshalls are a one trick pony. BTW, the SV MKII IS a tube amp. That said, I'd grab and Egnater Renegade 212

  • Hi bro!..that is a good sound...i have a quiestion, ¿did you use any pedal of efects or did you plug in direct to the amp?....i´m planing to buy one of those amps...

  • Its extremely close to van halen's tone but I truly think the only way to nail it is with a plexi.

  • That was some badass playin' dude!!

  • can anyone tell my why on the blue channel the effects are different than on orange? I don't even use the blue channel because the delay is like a weird echo...

  • Cervoni, you are one of the biggest idiots there is.

  • You do know that the line out bypasses the tubes, right?

  • Great crunch, what pickups are in the prestige?

  • @skinkskankmomma They'e some Dimarzio/IBZ's I'm not sure of the exact models, but that's what comes in most of the high end prestige's.

  • @chrism3006 you make me proud to play an ibanez, and a schecter =]

  • @chrism3006 How do you do the speaker emulated line out?

  • @chrism3006 Awesome sound buddy!! nice playing as well - enjoyed listening to that immensely.

P.S. You've got nothing to be annoyed about - it sounded great!

  • @chrism3006 Awesome sound buddy!! nice playing as well - enjoyed listening to that immensely.

P.S. You've got nothing to be annoyed about - it sounded great! Were you mic'ed or did you run the pre-amp direct?

  • Awsome, really =) Your other vid's are great as well!

  • FATT!!!

  • lol

  • @prkprk666 FU

  • Can you send the tab? pleaseeee...... Its so great

  • Great playing , man. Really enjoyed listening. I know that's not the point... but still.

  • What song is that from? Sounds great!

  • that was awesome

  • Makes me want to buy one of these. Good riffage.

  • Great job man!!

  • nice job yeah like casey your right on that! But casey is hard too beat!

  • A little Casey Jones ay?

  • it's a more modern sounding tone, it doesn't have the 'rawness' of VH, still sounds nice and beautiful playing

  • can ya plug any pedals into this or just line 6 pedals?

  • @SRodgers145 any pedals

  • how did you use the line out? Did you have to put a DI between the amp and recording device?

  • killer

  • I can't do that, good job

  • great tone

  • Nice one, this is oldskool :D

  • @johnjohnjohn222 is this a song by van halen? or is he just improvin? do ya know? Thanks

  • What´s his song?

  • It's not a VH song, it's just in the vane of VH. Unless I'm mistaken...

  • Awesome!

  • so boost just adds more distortion?

  • Wow. Wait no. AMAZING is the word!

Love the song :D Awesome. Dude.

    Im thrilled now :O

  • When it's on Blue, you're playing through the Bogner preamp section. When it's on Orange, you have the emulated sound of Line6. I love the blue sound. Bogner is always going to be amazing

  • wow really? i didnt know that. my sound has been on orange metal since i bought the amp lol. im gonna have to compare the blue and orange again

  • The guy at a local music store told me that, I had it on orange not knowing it even had a blue for everything, and the blue just sounded amazing xD

  • sounds like a pod in my opinion and is better to buy a good tube amp and a pod because you will have original tube sound. But i must say that this line 6 series is the best.

  • Awesome Dude!

    Great sound

  • NICE!!!!!

  • dude this is more like a vai tone the tone is great but u need to put some reverb and delay because it sounds too dry and compressed

  • love the result of the emulated line out!!!!thanks for the advise

  • Very awesome!!!

  • Sweet! Great job.

  • add a little phaser

makes the harmonics squeal a lot louder

    great playing

  • Great tone

I have the same amp, and i can say that is awesome and very loud

  • Great playing. You list the gain setting at 1:00 w/ boost. What's the boost? Thanks, Jim

  • The boost is when you press the Tap/Tuner button while adjusting the gain.... ands a little more distortion

  • do you like tap it while its moving or hold it in or what? i had no idea there was a distortion boost on it

  • Hold the TAP TEMPO down when the distortion is at 0 and turn the distortion to the desired location. To know that its working when the knob is turned past 12 o clock the A and D channel buttons will light up (i think)...

PS. It sounds better without the boost :)

  • ok i got it but actually you turn it to how much distortion you want then hold the tap button and turn it to how much boost you want. if you turn it to zero and hit the button it will have no distortion and distortion boost so it sounds like its on crunch

  • i forgot to ask in my other comment, whenever i change the amp model (clean, twang, etc) the channel volume is almost all the way up so i have to redo my channel volume level everytime i want to change sounds a little bit is there a way to fix this? thanks

  • not bad at all, I have a SV and I have had a hard time getting a good VH 'brown' sound. I would have liked to use the flanger or phaser with the VH sound, but unfortunantly the SV doesn't let a person set the specific parameters of the effects. The factory setting for phaser and flang are too much at times. I would have liked to see a chorus and flang individually also, not as one effect. Overall I like the amp.

    Thanks for the video...

  • now the sv mk 2 allows you to!

  • Yea, but for the price difference. I'll keep my original SV and add a Pod X3 and still have more options than with a SV Mk II. I got my SV for $ 500 new and still happy with it. One thing I have come to know with Line 6, they are always working on the next thing. There will probably be a SV Mk 3 in 2 years...

  • Thats true you have more options. I run an xtl in front of a spider 3 but I'm thinking about just getting a svmk2 and using the floorboard. That's all I want to have to use and I think I can pull it off. The amp doesn't have as many different variations of effects as the pod but I found that there are too many effects on the pod for me.. i mean that it's hard to have a distinct sound with so many models. and I'm goin for my own sound now. but to each his own. lol mk3

  • Also, I wasn't too impressed with the 14 second loop option. Most phrases that I wanna loop are longer that that time wise. I have a Boss RC Loop Station that I use with the SV on the effects send/ return. I was kinda suspicous when the orginal SV's price dropped as low and as fast as it did. In today's world that means something better and more expensive is going to replace it (SV Mk 2).

  • not bad

  • good job on finding that van halen tone bro!

  • The tone isn't quite what it should be, but your playing is dead on, very clean.

  • that's good

  • yep that's a prestige

  • It's nice to see someone actually playing a Prestige!

  • That was really good!!!

  • UG!

  • that not his tone.

  • He never specified it was the tone of EVH.

  • what do you need to record from the direct out

  • Mixing board with a stereo line out, or USB/Firewire mixer, Then send the XLR cable to the board and the board to your computer. Or if you have a Mixer that has a recorder on it then just use that and cut out the computer, I like recording programs personally I feel like there's so much more you can do. If you're going to get a comp to work with get a Mac. Nothing compares to a mac when it comes to recording.

  • beautiful

  • hey fuck you ain't got no money for that guitar, you're a thief!

  • does your ibanez have the wizard2 neck or a standard contoured?

  • Nah, I don't have any money now. :P Thanks anyways though.

  • should i get this or peavey Vypyr?

  • the line 6

  • First play both and then decide, which you like better!

  • the vypyr all the way

  • can you explain the setup required for direct out recording from this amp? is it a cable that goes straight to the pc or do you need a preamp or mixer board and what cables are needed and how to hook them up?

  • I think you captured the sound perfectly, no need to go any further, you sounded great. The tone of the amp was nicely professsional sounding. If you want to try something that I do when recording my electric is; use several tracks of your recording software (or use a mixer with several inputs as follows). Record;

    1) the amp from the direct out

    2) The amp with a close mike

    3) The amp with a far mike (room)

Then, blend all 3 on mix down for the perfect sound that you like.

    Cheers-GeneM

  • That sounded professional quality. Granted you messed up a bit, but sheesh. I am really considering getting that amp.

  • Well,i have the solidstate spider2 75w and what i do to get a vanhalenish tone is: insane - gain 1-2 oclock w bst bass 12-1 oclock mid 8-9 oclock treble 3 oclock chan vol cranked, reverb and delay and some phaser when needed( although the phaser on that amp sucks). I dont know if it would sound any similar on the tube version.

  • insane on green led of course (probably blue on valve)

  • OMG LOL 0.27

  • If you want it to sound more Eddie-ish, I mean when Eddie was young, which is the only Eddie that influenced the greats. Use crunch blue and crank up the master 3/4, and turn the channel volume up to half way. The other amps like the one you have dialed in are more gainy and easy to play through. Eddie had tone for miles in his hands in the early days. He could WILL distortion. Good effort though, just throwing in my 2 cents after playing for 27 years.

  • if you could recommend any Amp...?

  • Very nice. Now I have to go take a big poop.

  • @DragonFarceRock Is it because of how BROWN his tone is?

    [/horrible joke]

  • Nice tone

  • Yeah, more Satch and Eric Johnson than EVH

  • satriani, thats what it sounds like

  • sounds more satriani than anything.

  • that axe a swear looks like a j custom, but without the shiney colours...anyone agree?

  • i do =) even the pickups look like one

  • I'm maybe buying this amp, is it a good buy?

  • fuck yes

  • what song is this, or is it all your own creation?

  • I dont know what it is about that tone you got there..... but I like it! And nice playing man!

  • good sound.

    what song is this?

  • great job i loved how u hit those harmonics simply by tapping

  • dude that was fucking fantastic!!!! u are awesome ma man!!

  • very god boy.....I'm braziliam idlike.....rs

  • can u tell what the settings are

  • Very nice tone. Your playing is excellent. The recording is good too. I like it. Im actually going to get one of these amps tomorrow! Ive been trying to simplify by selling my mesa head and VHT cab so I can get a more diverse setup, that will still sound good and this amp seems to be it.

  • Really clean man nice

  • sweet

  • lush mate
