The reason it comes with a standard AV cable is because not everyone is rich, most people would have a non-HDMI compatible TV. Besides, HD TVs USUALLY come with an AV slot, and if you're THAT desprate for HD, HDMI cables are like chump change compared to the XBox itself. Don't get me wrong, I love playing in HD, but it's nice that Microsoft are appreciating the fact that there are gamers that don't have HD TVs.
