Sungha Jung is a great guitarist and he doesn't deserve any association with Bieber. the same applies to 99% of youtube songs. As for competetivness part, Here's why so many people are like that, it's in the genes, and in the hearts, to compete. It's human nature. Look at how many replies say "I wish I could do that".
