I cut all the metal off their feet and pinned them to my Scenic Resin Bases. ANd nope, I dont water down mechrite at all. Straight from the pot.

ooh, only finalist lol, somewhere along that video I was wondering how you could have made first place. I don't know if you want to change your style to much, right now oyu have the average (GW) tabletop style, but more details. If you want to take it further you should work a whole lot more with light, there was way to much plain and simple lining, and you could have added better light to the metal parts maybe even slightly darker and lighter parts over the whole powersuit depending on angles.

oh and jawaballs, you know the dark angels wings you put on their feet? I had the same idea! I used it on my custom chapter master. I gave him a bare eldar guardian head (the one with the full head of hair) and a golden jump pack adorned with the wings. then I got carried away with the magnetized weapons... all ten of them...

How do you paint red over black without it being so thick? I've tried a couple of times, but the black still show through! (I used black primer,Mechrite red,blood red,Baal red wash.Higlights:50/50 mix blood red blazing orange, blazing orange, Fiery orange. You're right, they are Blood Angels Honor Guard. The BA have no idea what Vanguard are. (Vanguard box set does include jump packs btw.)

Elapsed time, Each one probably spent 10 hours in my hands. Just the apothecary and standard bearer required cutting and drilling... I had to cut and put the little vials on his belt, and completely drill out the sword that was in the hands for the bearer so he could hold the pole. Had to cut and file the vanguard bases and put them on my own... heh hours and hours...
