Thank you for posting this wonderful calypso. Absolutely love it. This I could always listen to and think about my homeland and it's people. I miss Trinidad and Tobago, will always be home.
Why I cannot be a Racist! Because I understand that I was the first man on earth according to history. Evidently, ALL other culture of people came outta me so technically I am not their brother or sister, I am their parent. In every people there are traces of me in them but in me there are no trace of any other! Like it or not, accept it or not! Facts a very stubborn and they are extremely hard to change!!
Check out the absolutely infectious beat to this most harmonising and lyrically sound rendition of David Rudder's "The Ganges and the Nile" We might have our differences at election time but when it comes to a collective bacchanal and wine, we good to go. Together we aspire, together we achieve. Our Carnival is testimony to that.
Congratulation rasadam for posting the lyrics of another good, I will not go as far as to say great song because there was Lord Shorty in the 1970s who used to bring out Indians to Calypso Tents by the multitude. Every Friday and Saturday nights Indians used to singlehandedly support Calypso Tents in the 1970s. Indians used to buy out de bar and food. Indians used to have such a great time. Indians used to go on stage and wine openly and they did care...until Cro Cro and Sugar Aloes came...!

One of the things I respect the most about Calypso is how it makes a statement, and has a message in the song. I wish the musicians up here would take a cue and make positive, uplifting songs like this that unite us instead of just talking about what they have and what they want. Respect to Mr. Rudder, and to you for posting. I am going to play this for my little boy so he can understand a little bit more about his Mom's homeland. You made my day :)
