  • 240p we meet again.

  • I think this is my favourite song of all time.

  • Anybody know where I can download this version instead of the Geico one?

Itunes only has the Gieco :/

  • Comment removed

  • london? .. but the trains and escalators work

  • obviously not a london scene..the trains and escalators work

  • you could write a PhD thesis on this video and song, that is if has not been done yet. Humanity and humanities?

  • @yippitydodah I'd love to write a PhD on this video and song, it's so fascinating. I love the song so much!! and the video really makes me think... I know humanities subjects are not regarded as respectful or decent but I might be starting a degree in a humanities subject, imagine if I had to analyse and write something on this music song and video :o haha! I'd love it but I think it'd better for fun, it wouldn't exactly be work because I would actually do that as a hobby :p

  • @xxberni2k6xx There is always Philosophy as a subject itself, or maybe it should be Modern Philosophy, I should say? But it is a bit hardcore on the imagination though, and really tests any modern "rational" mind.

  • @xxberni2k6xx Read in the newspapers again recently, on the oxbridge interview question - which better to be, an apple or a banana?

The simple answer is to be an apple, to have a round view of the World, with iron inner core of seeds to move forward in life, and a protective slippery shiney outer surface for protection from life that is not always good and can be unhealthy.

Heavy duty philosophy, see. Spooks some people, but not all.

  • I have never gotten tired of this song. I used to listen to it as a young teen and i still love it 2 day!

  • As a member of the United Kingdom/Great Britain/Wales/Cymru/Pays de Galles, I feel quite flattered. Thanks Röyksopp. Diolch. Da iawn.

  • if the world was made in google sketch up, this is what it would look like :p

  • We are witnessing the pre-extinction of human beings.

  • ahh yes. "Remind me" Mostly famous for having cork in the video :).

  • i can do this easy jk lol

  • 3D Studio Max... they even had the teapot in lol. :) Nice vid!

  • Is this a one-hit-wonder or do these guys have other GOOD songs?

  • YES! My favorites are Triumphant, 49 percent and What else is there?

  • Listen to the Junior album

  • This version is so much better, the one I got on iTunes is different.

  • Why does this song come up first when I look for "The most awesome song ever" ?

  • for that exact reason! DUH!!! lol

  • I suddenly have this urge to save up to 15% on my car insurance by switching to GEICO... O.o

    /so easy...

  • this video is soo deep, i notice something new everytime i watch it

  • cool, i like it... what is the story behind the video, would someone tell me, cuz i don't get it completely? ^^ :)

  • A day in a typical english middle-class single woman's life, as expressed through the use of diagrams and instruction manuals for commercial materials, but animated. She gets up, goes to work, comes home, and sleeps, and everything in between. In the meantime, we see how she interacts with the world around her, and what we can learn about it through the diagrams. Hence, when she gets a milkshake, we see its origin from grazing cattle straight to the machine in the shop she buys it.

  • Thats some serious clip !!

  • liking the vid ;)

  • liking vid and song, both good as hell

  • yeah me too.. but the vid is just brilliant

  • the song and vid are brilliant lol

  • what remix is that?

  • i dont think this is a remix, theres probably 2 versions for the geico.. well i seen this one on Mtv so i think its the original.

  • oh ok

  • thats somekinda remix

  • I wish I could make such an impressive presentation for my job with powerpoint

  • Great video and cool music from this Norwegian band!

  • stunning

  • This video reminds me of how interconnected our world is, and how hard it has become to change the rules by which it operates (for good and for bad).

  • And also reminds us how vulnerable is our lifestyle as time goes on.

  • nice vid. now all I can think about is warning labels and instruction manuals.

  • does anyone know where i can get this version of the song... cd version blows and reminds me of geico everytime

  • The song is "Remind Me (Someone Else's Radio Mix)". You can find it either on the Melody AM bonus disc (slightly shorter version) or on the Remind Me EP.

  • cool vid

  • Wow.

This video caught my attention very long time ago, when I saw it on TV. Haven't heard of it since. Now I go to YouTube just to look at the new Audio Preview feature and I see it among reccomended videos.

No big deal, but still strange coincidence.

    Really well-made video, anyhow.

  • If you step back, the graphics suck. but i really respect who ever made this video, its so well put together and alot of work went into the 'simple' graphics. songs pretty hawt too

  • The graphics are carefully done. Some 8bit culture there and also the type of graphics that you can see on language books, or manuals. Is not that they made it all squared because they don't know how to draw... XD.

  • Exactly. Actually, it reminds me of books on urban planning and urban design from the 1960s and 1970s. The graphics are really spot-on, and I don't think the aesthetic was accidental, either. Those decades were the height of modernism and the belief in infinite progress, when most of the world that we live in today was created.

  • Annoys me that this is different on the CD, as this version is better imo.

  • is this a diffrent version then i heard. i heard one like this on a geico commercial but it had a diffrent beat and rhythm to it

  • Yeah, the version I have is very different.

  • awesome video. thats really cool how everything is connected

  • Probably the most succinct depiction of modern society I've seen ever, it's beautiful.

  • i don't understand the catch where they get the map of Japan... is there something in particular that they want to portray by it??

  • It's supposed to point out how complex global society is; the different connections in the video were of one person in one city in one country. The pointing out of Japan is to suggest that all the connections pointed out in the video apply globally.

  • I think Japan at the end means that as people are going to bed in England, In Japan they're getting up to start the whole cycle again. It never stops. The video is a great depiction of modern global civilization, endlessly moving, using it's own "created language" of charts and diagrams.

  • hmm.. your argument makes a lot of sense. I think that might be the reason. Thanks! :)

  • how was that even an arguement? he just stated what happened in the video...

  • I quote grafight: "I think Japan at the end means that as people are going to bed in England, In Japan they're getting up to start the whole cycle again. It never stops". this is the part which I said makes sense. This is my opinion, sry if you don't agree.

  • Best song ever. "You look like BANKY EDWARDS!"

  • that was really cool

  • LIZAAAAAAAAAAAA

  • that is a great video!

  • excelente!

  • Thanks so much!!! I have been looking for this video for ages, because I just love this animations so much!!

  • What a great remix. Does anyone know what this remix of 'remain me' this is?

I'd highly recommending doing to see Royksopp. I saw them one hot summer evening in London. They were fantastic!

  • I'm still waiting for them to come to Seattle ;;

  • wow, this reminds me of how my future engineering job will be like... in a flash. i like this vid. cool.

  • The animation totally adds to the song.

  • I like the video, I mean you think about the many things that are apart the modern day life, but i like the way this video shows it visually.

  • that was some kind of awesome astonishing(whatever that means) is awesome, exept your peoples legs dont move..its awesome, favorited and added to a playlist, i honor this vid

  • It's awesome because their legs don't move.

  • I agree. If their legs moved then it would be like every other animation.

  • I think that, in a sense, the use of non-moving legs highlights the fact that many people have highly-routined lifestyles during the workweek. With a routine, an action is done repeatedly such that it can eventually be done automatically. The non-moving legs symbolically represents how people are in "automatic mode" when it comes to the activities we engage in during the workweek.

Also, when we want to walk somewhere, we do not consciously think of each step we take; we do it automatically

  • ..... i guessss

  • this is my favorite music video especially for this song really fits somehow

  • really Interesting :)

  • great music and awesome animations

  • Great song. isnt this the song they use in the Geico airport caveman commercial?

  • haha, that's what i was thinking (more like a versionn of this) i listen to Royksopp but havent heard this song yet but it's good. didn't think that song in the Geico commercial i liked was Royksopp's lol

  • The video is epic

  • This is a great song added to the genre of Electronic music!

  • why show Japan in the end?

  • So the song could start over again in a neverending cycle ;)

  • it's a company named H5 and their work made this video win the Video of the Year award on 2002's MTV Europe Music Awards

  • amazing video

  • this is the song on the geico commercial!!

  • wow it shows you how life really goes on and on even though your just one person in this big world.

  • one of the best videos i have ever seen. nice job

  • this dude didnt make this fucking video! i saw it on mtv 3 years ago

  • what a disappointmment

  • you are a dissapointment.

  • uuh. i meant a disappointment coz i thought it was this users own video

  • oops, my bad but still haha it couldn't have been a youtube user who did this video is just WAY too good.

  • I cannot fathom not having seen this. Good job. It hit my faves immed.

  • This is amazing, but I think it might be the remix to the song.

  • yes i its the thin white duke remix

  • think*

  • This video is amazing, it gives me a feeling of how large and complicated life is.

Our society has taken so long to invent every appliance and tool that we take for granted every day. This editor "Reminds" us to realize how our lives are.

  • it also gives me a feeling of how small and insignificant one person is... how everything about this girl can be mapped out and that she's just a consumer and that every action she takes is "designed" to be taken

  • My take on it was that we have to be "reminded" as to what makes life meaningful because as you dissect and label every relevant aspect of a human beings life you only find trivial things like cars, toothbrushes and the machinery that carts us around inside an even bigger machine. Machines within machines. It's so tedious, what's the point of it all? I don't mean to be totally cynical btw..

  • Yea, fo sho. So many connotations can be brought out from this video.

  • that video is cool.

  • its a god sort animated is best cuality because bad animation of arms by girl

  • something about this video is really depressing. : (

may be the fact that this "person" is just a consumer and that all of her "actions" in her day to day "life" can be mapped out like that.

    I think I cried a little.

  • hot

  • cool -

almost a little melancholic to see something so elaborate - must have been a lot of work to produce - and now we are all watching it for free.

    Thank you!

  • wow loved it, that was awesome. Now do Japan!

  • define life very well!

  • define life very well

  • wow this was actually really good when i lok at it i see how its saying everybody is part of a routine and a system and its followed constantly

also showing how all the parts of the system need to be there in order for society to function

i wil definitely be looking forward to more
