I can understand your greater point of view, which I think is called Universalism. I am not saying I agree, but I am thinking about it, and I can see how the concept is finding acceptance. What is weird for me, is that I can see how the scriptures can be read coming from that point of view (as you)and make even more sense... Anyway, being both Christian (conservative and fundamentalist), and serious about my faith AND homosexual, I appreciate what you are saying here. Thank you!
It was drilled in my head that I was a bad and evil "sinner" simply for having been born. Not that I haven't committed other "sins" along the way, but I was damned just for being alive. That's crazy! Then again, you already know this. I'm still an atheist, but "your" Christianity is the only one that supports God being about Love/Forgiveness and not Anger/Punishment. It's a good message, maybe even the "correct" one. Keep on keepin' on Steve!
It takes tremendous faith to believe opposite of everthing one has ever been taught in society concerning sexuality. I'm 46yrs. old & born & raised in church and I still have the worst relation ship with God & myself. All I'm saying is that is f%$#king hard to actually love one's self after it has been drilled into your soul that you're twisted up & you;re going to hell for it. It's like trying to set free an animal that has been chained up all it's life. "They" have made us hate ourselves.
