  • real cool video im from ohio and i visit detroit atleast once a year. I go to the joe louis arena when the wwe is in town.

  • hi thanks for the video its nice video, and your review is very good,

this city seems to me very beautiful and nice,

    thanks for uploading

  • Last year we drove through cities like Cairo and East Saint Louis, and those were some pretty god damn scary places.

I think Detroit, however, looks a bit more on the safe side, in particular the downtown area:)

I really want to see some of the historic art deco buildings in the city, like The Buhl building, which I hear is breathtaking on the inside..

Any advice on what to see and where to stay in Detroit will be appreciated!

  • Hi there! Thanks for uploading this amazing video! I love how you are able to give it a real nice personal touch! It´s like going on a really great sightseeing tour :)

Now I´m from Denmark, and I´ve thought about going to Detroit a number of times. I love how much history this city has to offer.

I´ve been to a number of places in the U.S, Saint Louis, Memphis, New York, Chicago, New Orleans and so on. What I want to know, like everybody else, is Detroit really that bad?

  • @Clagize No, detroit is not that bad, every major city has its bad parts of town, just like St lois, memphis, and chicago, for detroit, I think south west detroit is a rough area because of the gang situation on that side of town, I've only been through southwest a hand full of time in my lifetime, detroit is so big, that u can be here for years and not go there unless u know someone there or just passing by.. next time u come to chicago, take a little time and come to detroit, thank 4 watching

  • would be great .

  • Hi there , i loved the video , my wife and me are planing a road trip to Toronto Ontario in the summer time and we are from Winnipeg Manitoba , so our rout on our road trip would be going threw Chicago witch Chicago is going to be our rest stop cause from Winnipeg to Chicago is around 15 hours of driving , then from Chicago strait to Toronto , but we are planing on going threw Detroit , is Detroit a safe city to visit in the day time , like geting out walking around? if any 1 can help that

  • Detroit downtown is a beautiful place. The famous motor city. I'm a student in Windsor, ON. Just across the border. And I have been over to detroit several times and I loved the downtown area, beautiful city. And like proshea01 said on other comments, every city has its bad and good and ugly. Yes, detroit does have a high crime rate. But so does New orleans, St. louis, Chicago. And you have to remember that Detroit got hit the hardest with the recession lately. Cheers on the great video mate!

  • @MaliciousMatt83 its ok, I understand, raising kids here is not a good thing like it use to be back in the day, there be no way in the hell i would raise a kid here, my grandkids live in Warren and go to school there, so that's a plus at least, I understand about the rap thing, you should see the looks i get when driving through the hood playing billy joel, lol, take care

  • @MaliciousMatt83 LOL, did you think because we are black that we should be listening to rap or something, LOL, this should help you not assume how things are not in the city,, there are good and bad niegborhoods in every major city. But you are entitled to think what you want, thanks for watching anyway, have a good day

  • Damn I wish I could run a red light like that

  • Hey ,

I am 18 and I cant get over Detroit,

Is it a good place to live? I know they say it has a bad economy, but I have also heard it is a really beautiful pace. If I moved there in the next year what parts do you recommend to look for property? I currently live in Sacramento CA, were things are VERY low key, so if you guys have any comments about were the best place to live, just hit me up on your free time, thanks,

  • @mentalmake , hello, it depends on your budget, that will determine what area I could recommend to you, just like anywhere else, you have the good, bad, and the ugly, but detroit is a beautiful place, look forward to hearing from u, thanks

  • @mentalmake hey i was reading your comments, not trying to be crerepy or anything lol, umm downtown detroit i hear isent all that nice, well the scenes are, but the people can be a bit scary sometimes, i would try to live about 10-20 minutes away from the downtown area

  • What is the cheapest place to stay in Detroit?

  • i can get you a room in the gm building u seen in the video for $79 bucks a night

  • @proshea01 whoa that converts to 112.10NZD a night.. Thats pretty much the same as a five star hotel here. I suppose Detroit does not have a YMCA accomodation ? A quick google told me that the AAE Detroit Shorecrest at 1136 east Jefferson is 62.08 USD a night. In this country you can stay at the ymca for 25 dollars NZD a night. I just found you can get rooms for the red roof inn Rochester hills for 28 a night but that might be too far from town. Anyway check this out,

  • You'll be paying attention to that windshield when it shatters Shea. I suggest you stick glad wrap on the inside so that when it shatters the glass shards don't hit you in the face. I heard a lot of those big buildings are completely vacant. Detroit looks like an amazing place. I want to visit one day.

  • LOL, I'll get it done, I've been saying it for a while i know, lol. and no, the buildings are not vacant, i hope u do come one day, dave and i will show u a great time, plus i will let u do the shea show while your here
