It is a sub-order drawing its membership strictly from those who are already Freemasons. This means, by default of logic, that nobody can join the Illuminati (which is actually now a part of modern Freemasonry anyway) without first being a Freemason of a particular degree. My father is a 32nd degree Mason. He's alos been past Master three times as well as currently holding the title of High Priest for Royal Arch. He is also Commander of the Lexington Commandery. My son is also a member of DeMolay, the teenage boys version of the Masonic Lodge and has been past Master 3 times and is currently a State Ambassador for DeMolay. My family has been Masonic for over 60 years, and the Illuminati has never been part of the Masonic Lodge. Where do you get your info?

It is a sub-order drawing its membership strictly from those who are already Freemasons. This means, by default of logic, that nobody can join the Illuminati (which is actually now a part of modern Freemasonry anyway) without first being a Freemason of a particular degree. The Illuminati draw their membership from the Order of the Golden Dawn, which is today as much a part of the Scottish Rite as any of the other degrees that were incorporated into it over the centuries.
