  • I have followed Sigur Ros for about 6 years, and this film Heima is a treasure......

This finale I have always found to be quite erotic in a subtle way....perhaps the subtlety is what makes it so.

Wonderful clip.....others should explore the movie

  • There are no words to describe this song.

  • I don't need a girlfried, lots of money and a great job. I just need Sigur Ros.

  • the singer looks awfully like sheldon from the big band theory...

  • @jammyd33 LOL@ big BAND theory, very good pun, even if not intended

  • niesamowicie silna atmosfera! klimat tego filmu jest intensywnie odczuwalny właśnie dzięki takiej muzyce połączonej z takimi obrazami.

  • BEST VIDEO ON INTERNET.

  • I've watched and I,v learnt this is soulfly beautiful

    Soul food mind food

    Exceptional

  • That was awesome. Reminds me of Godspeed You Black Emperor - Moya. If you like this and don't know that song already, you should definitely check it out.

  • when you open an extra tab and play the same video but just an fraction before or after the original video it sounds even more immense.

  • I'm a grown man, I havent cried in years, and now I'm tearing up to Sigur Ros on youtube.

  • UNABLE TO DESCRIBE THIS BEAUTIFUL CHAOS IN MY STOMACH. ORGASMIC.

  • the best f*ucking thing since sliced bread.... or anything else for that matter.

  • Heads up. February 20th 2011 Heima is showing on Sky Anytime in very high quality. You MUST see this on a big screen through a good quality home cinema system turned up LOUD.

  • hypnotic

  • This is the song of either the beginning or end of the world. I don't know which.

  • @vicodinx I've quoted this a couple of times. Exactly how I felt the first time I heard it. Every time.

  • I would urge, no, implore anyone who likes this to get the DVD version or an equivalent quality copy. This upload is as good as you'll get on Youtube but Youtube simply cannot do it justice. When Orri Páll goes nuts on the drums the dynamic quality and depth is gut-wrenching. It sounds wooly on Youtube whereas in reality when he's rolling down the tom-toms and crashing the cymbals it is distinct, rich, colourful, musical - like being rocked to sleep and punched in the face at the same time. :o)

  • hats off for the drummer

  • This really sounds apocalyptic. like there is a meteor coming closer and closer from 0:00 to 5:10 and at 5:13 it hits the earth.

  • Does this have a track name? I love it!

  • @TheJacksterman it's "sigur 8" on the album "()" :)

  • @Linnfromsweden Thank you :)

  • Orri Pall Dyrasson is truly a mold-breaking drummer. It's too bad he's never in magazines.

  • i've never heard anything like this

    it was reallyyy....

    i have no words!!

  • I didnt want to watch this...i told myself i would wait for a secluded room on a dark night with the actual movie..but when i clicked the play button on my computer...i melted away into the most magnificent golden sounds i could have never imagined...thank you sigur ros.....thank you from all of us.

  • A beautiful sound scape - the saddest part is when it ends cos' than you're back to reality.

  • this is something alien...when were you abducted?

  • you know somethings truely magical when you get chills down your spine listening to this song in the dead of summer.

  • you know somethings truely magical when you get chills down your spine listening to this song in the dead of summer.

  • few things on this planet truly deserve to be called "magnificent". this one of those things.

  • who put a button down fpr THIS?!?

  • buy "heima" dvd

    admire...

    then,you're life we'll be different

  • untitled 8 is more powerfull than 1000 atomic bombs

  • There's no one... fantastic!

  • This drumming is MAD. Totaly unreal

  • @ianwheeler7 there are not two drummers.

  • When I'm running a marathon, I can listen to this one piece repeating over the entire race. I almost need no water.

  • amazing

  • He's the man!

  • lol i was there

  • whats the name of this song??

  • @quisqueyatv Its propagio the number 8 of the untitled disc

  • great

  • Crazy awesome!

  • if aliens came to the earth i would play sigur ros for them :)

  • =) +1

  • dear Sigur Ros, I love you, please NEVER sell out!!!

  • franyesz!

  • the best band in the world.

    "SIGUR ROS!"

    genre: post/rock

you're remembered by every fan in this world.

your music is spectacular by any other band!

  • way harder than any rough metal band!

  • @snorhoofd yea no kidding, that song is more metal than hell

  • This was ridiculous

  • pretty much impossible to not enjoy this

  • FLAWLESS.-

  • This version is, as far, better than the original version.

  • I bought this on dvd when it was released. Anyone got any word when will be out on Blu-Ray?

  • Treemendos

  • slayer ain't got shit on sigur ros' heaviness;hate eternal should open for them for a tour!

  • Orri is rocking this so hard. amazing to watch.

  • in one word: BRILLIANT

  • In tears as I listen to this right after I just played our first show and someone compared us to them after our set. We are no where near this level yet.

  • mind blowing...the finest example of music/band documentary i have ever watched...absolutely brilliant!

  • i share that opinion

  • FAHK!!!!!! I want to cry!!!

  • incredible, going to Iceland next summer... cant wait...

  • FWAH, it sounds like something big is coming, tension in the air, like you know armageddon is near or sumthin or god's wrath coming upon you. Fucking amazing!

  • i have some respect for U2 or Radiohead...but I do not understand why Sigur Ros is not as popular as these groups.... they are the best ,no more no less

  • they shit all over U2, yeah yeah yeah im bono yeah

  • orri is like a fuckinga demi god.

  • TOTALLY F**KIN AWESOME, Keep it up Sigur Ros, You are the best of the best!!

  • If you watch the whole of this performance in a totally dark room, except for the screen you're watching it on with full volume in the dead of night...you feel things which cannot be produced by anything other than Sigur Ros - It's magical!

  • so true. it lifts you up and takes you miles away

  • @MagnusBruce

true, true. add some really loud speakers and the magic is overwhelming

  • @MagnusBruce where can I get this DVD? After reading your comment, I know I can appreciate exactly what you are talking about, I have to have it!

  • Untitled 8 aka The Pop Song <3

    Wonderful!

  • Someone can tell me the name of the song, cause its amazing and glorious this song....

  • I visited Iceland this year and have the Heima DVD. The film brought back every feeling, sight and sound when I was there. Sigur Ros are "one of a kind" that truly believe in "music" for "music". I get lost in this song every time I hear it. And these days we need to lose ourselves more often.

  • Regards to the drummer...he should win an award or something!

  • he is in the best band of the world....that's enough I think haha

  • @animeeclipse AGREED! Orri is an AWESOME drummer- the best I've ever heard.

Sigur Ros are the world's best "pop" band ever.

  • @animeeclipse drummers*

  • That girl at 1:37 is quite horny for a ginga!

  • One more thing...the word "ethereal" just isn't enough to describe their music. It's as if some spirit of chaos and creation that stalked the Icelandic landscape bled it's essence into the rocks and over time it distilled in to this essence that pemeated into the creative consciousness of the band like an echo that reverberated down the centuries. Their language is universal. Their sound is pure.

  • I know YouTube doesn't do the finale justice like actually being there, but if that captured a thimbleful of intensity, boy! Take me out and shoot me now cos that is music to die to!

  • Come back to Poland, Sigur Ros!!! We are waiting!

  • Incredible! It's just a shame about the 10 minute limit that YouTube puts on most videos. This track is nearly 12 minutes, and every second of it deserves to be heard, no, must be heard!

And by the way, Rapdas123, I think I agree with your point, "so unlike the usual Sigur Ros"? Yeah, I like some of their other music, but I wish they would do more intense mind-blowing material like Popplagid, the kind of music that grabs you, slaps you around, and doesn't let you back up for a while.

  • I watched this on a massive 42" HD tv and it blew my head away.

Just wish I'd got to see it live.

  • can't help but worry that they're going to take some commercial influence after touring the world and everything's going to turn a bit shitty. they've got such an etheral sound, all about slow progression, lyrics about...elves and haystacks...just hope it stays that way! amazing band :)

  • Sigur Ros kicks ASS!!!

  • It's incredible the ending of this video, THAT'S intense!

  • Mind blowing! Orri is a spectacular drummer!!!!! Oh to have been there...

  • they played this song at the end of heir concert here in mexico it was awesome!!

  • the soundtrack to an opiated life...........

    its beautifull

  • the best part for sure :)

  • The name of the song: Popplagið

  • It's the last song on ( )

  • I love love love love this song and this band! It is very harmonic!

Does somebody knows the name of the song?

  • it's the ending of "Untitled #8", from the ( ) album. =]

  • What's the name of the song?

  • Isn't this song about the end of the world or something?

  • I was at this show. One of the most cherished experiences of my life.

  • I wish i was there! You are a lucky person!

  • Where was this show at.

  • Miklatún (also knows as Klambratún), a public park in Reykjavík.

  • * also KNOWN as...

  • THIS is music, compared to all pop songs today.

This is just pure perfection of music.

  • um. britney? the jonas brothers? you gotta be kidding me

  • all you indie music kids hate produced pop music, you have no right to tell anyone not to like catchy songs. at least they're not boring! there is excellent pop music out there.

  • very true.

good music exists in all genres.

you just have to find it.

  • lol..

no offence but the quality of indie music in todays world is wayyyyy superior to mainstream bullshit.

sure they maybe an occasional awesome song, and ill admit, there is some good stuff. but compared to an indie artist, i.e you pick up an album from sigur ros, and you KNOW your gonna get an amazing experiance, you know nobody listens to it, you know its personal, you know its beautiful. Indie is just so much more unique and talent filled..

    thats my opinion anyway!

  • All i can say is..Post-Rock

  • I hate the mainstream "music"- it's all about image, social control/conditioning and superficial nonsense.

  • music is music. who cares where it comes from. if you tap your foot to it, enjoy if you dont just find something else.

  • The video contains the last parts of the track "Untitled 8" from the ( ) album. It's also called "Popplagið".

  • These guys rock.

Any one see that girl at 1:38? She was super cute.

  • big shit

  • this is the ultra soun, very nice,i like

  • very godspeed lol

    this band is so good

  • it loved the drums and all the sounds it was making, it also loved the way the sounds vibrates in my ears..but most of all it loved the dirty things your doing to yourself right now

    x Gustarv x

  • This is beyond amazing, probably the best build-up i've ever heard. I suddenly get urges to visit Iceland after seeing Heima. Beautiful country!

  • Heima made me want to go to iceland soon as possible. It would be great that i was there in 2006 in Asbirgi.

People, Amina deserve an ovation too. Beside you are beautiful, all of you, you make a dreaming sound that make sigur ros music sound even more beautiful.

Thank you Sigur Ros, thank you Amina.

  • This is my heroin...

  • life is beautiful again

  • My mind has been blown 31x over.

  • esto viene en el video de heima, no es así?

  • wich languaje it is?

  • Icelandic and Vonlenska, which isn't really a language. It's an agglomeration of sounds that express emotions that can't be expressed in any dialect or language.

  • holly shit, man... that's gotta be the HUGEST build-up ever in history of music (well, at least the most impressive). O.O

  • sooooooooooooooooo Beautiful...Sigur Ros...best band in the world :D

  • Sent shivers down my spine for 8 minutes. Sigur Ros are without a doubt the greatest band out there at the moment.

  • CRYING!

  • Awesome. Very nice to see Orri go berserk on the drums.
