  • what is this piece?

  • how is the name of the entire song?

  • Hi I'm a newbie to Spinal Tap. I know they are based in comedy even more than the metal in the music they do, but do they actually play their own instruments?

  • @MrNostalgiaX yes they do. they are technically a "real" band, but they were created for the sole purpose of the mocumentary "This is Spinal Tap" - but the the actors who portray the band mates do in fact play and sing everything you hear. they have also toured in the past and preformed live shows as a way to promote the movie and just have a jolly good time.

  • @MrNostalgiaX yes.

  • i also love the laboured drumming at 0:15....oh yeah!! xD

  • Reminds me of satrianni...

  • Heavy Duty rock n roll!

  • LMAO!!!!

  • they look very gay

  • @heguli97 this si not gay compared to the 70s and 80s seach twisted sister, kiss on google Images. but its not gay. its thats kind of style

  • The Boccherini sounds fantastic on the guitar. I know they're being ironic, but I still love hearing it.

  • @mapleavenue77 I agree w/ you 100%. I love this solo!

  • Its Boccherini's Minuet from String Quintet No.5 in E major.......for those that want to comment and accually be right........HAHAHAHAHA I'm just kidding.....but seriously its not Mozart...

  • @UncleRusty69 You're right, I acquiece.

  • The 'solo' is note for note a Mozart piece. I think a wind ensemble, but not a syphony or concerto.

  • @MarquisEstelle Actually you're wrong, it's "Minuet" from the String Quintet No. 5 in E Major by Luigi Boccherini.

  • Isn't this poking fun at Jimmy Page going into the opening bars of Bach's Bouree in the live versions of Heartbreaker?

  • i personally would not call this "the classic solo", the classic solo for me is nigel soloing by himself using the the two guitars, his foot and an untuned violin lol

  • The composer is rolling in his grave every time someone plays this scene

  • Hilarious film.

  • its taken from the end of Umprheys Mcgee's "All in Time"...

  • @wholewheatbagel Other way around. UM took it from Tap. Doesn't make it any less awesome.

  • @dragonsho. ;) i knaw.

  • i liked it

  • foxlove, its Luigi Boccherini's "Minuet from String Quintet in E major"

  • lmao you actually know

  • it`s called an eclectic taste in music :)

  • fair enough :)

  • what is the solo taken from? sounds familiar

  • @foxlove224 im pretty sure ive heard it in opera form

  • Funny has hell!

  • This isn't a solo.

  • what tap song is this clip from?

  • @guitarshredda2

    heavy duty

  • It's never a bad idea to toss in some Mozart.

  • Well, it's actually Bach - Brandenberg Concerto #3...

  • Hehehe! Tufnel rules! Greatest movie ever made! Just listen to that shitty guitar tone! HahahaAH :D

  • Hey MUSE are making a living out of doing this kind of stuff for real now!!!

  • LOOL yea I love muse

  • k buena peliiiiiiii

  • it is some classical piec tho

  • dumbass, theyre meant to parody zappa, floyd, and led zep

  • Comment removed

  • They parody just about every rock band from 1959-1982. My bandmate says they reminded him most of Molly Hatchet, I thought they were a three-way blend of the Beatles, Led Zeppelin, and Van Halen, with a dash of Judas Priest meets Queen.

  • @chenalos

    Nigel Tufnel IS Jeff Beck

  • awesome solo

  • Whats the name of the mozart song ????

  • Heavy Duty is the Spinal Tap song

  • Minuet by Boccherini. TAP TAP TAP!!!!!!!!!!

  • what song by spinal tap is this?

  • Heavy Duty.

  • Comment removed

  • My channel goes to eleven! Check out gptvproductions. Saucy Jack you are a naughty one.

  • Nope.

  • as much as i love all of this movie and i really do appreciate you putting up this clip, the real "classic solo in this is spinal tap" has got to be from the vid here on youtube titled "Nigel Shreds." no question really. that's the one. but thanks for playin'!

  • this is such a blatant jab at Judas Priest! i love it haha

JP even has a song called "heavy duty"

  • I was thinking more of a jab at Hendrix, for the star spangled banner skit he did.

  • This popped into my head the other and I started laughing my ass off....truly brilliant

  • I've had that happening for 20 years

    Cheers!

  • Brilliant

  • I forget...

From which composition was that exert ?

  • the song is heavy duty

i'm not sure what the classical part was from though

  • Minuetto by Luigi Boccherini

  • why the fuck did you even comment? dummy.

  • man, that actually did sound great! i have to buy this movie

  • And they're still better guitar players than anyone in linkin park, limp bizkit, slipknot, korn, etc.

  • @jhohcable i dont like these bands too but what you are saying is just bullshit

  • I wish I could shred like that

  • AMAZING. his amp was at eleven.

    btw pause at 0:17

  • THat sounds awsome.

  • Rock on, Nigel. Rock on. \m/

  • wow, when they say classic rock, they mean CLASSIC rock! SWEET!

  • Boccherini String Quintet in E major Op. 11 No. 5 Minuetto in A is the piece I used to think it was Mozart but after years of listening to classical music i now know.

  • sounds like a stsanders piece xD

  • hhaha! but this is worse id have to say

  • This part threw me off for a few seconds

  • now this is a rite pain in the jaksie i kno the song is good but i cant find a fukin tab for it anywhere

  • haha thats so funny

only in spinal tap would they take a classical piece like that and put it with a song like heavy duty

    LMFAO

    awesome movie

  • not really - they're taking the piss out of a rock cliche where rock guitarists inject classical music into their solos to make themselves look "cultured".

  • Yngwie Malmsteen? lol.

  • SLAM LMAO You just made me spit Sprite all over my computer screen

  • @jazzx251 you realize this is a parody movie, right? it's meant to be funny

  • more specifically for any music nerds out there:

    Boccherini's String Quintet in E, Op. 11, No. 5

  • I think it's fucking cool you know that.

    :D

  • Thanks mate! But really the credit should go to Wikipedia, not me!

  • I wrote this!

  • jsjsjs

  • What song is it that they are payin when he breaks into the solo ?

  • heavy duty

  • i just pissed myself

  • if it was any more classical, it would have a violin in it.

  • hilarious

  • lol awesome

  • i think you meant classical solo

  • where can i get the tab for this?

  • that tongue wagging thing he does cracks me up so bad LMAO

  • Really parodies what Ritchie Blackmore was doing back in those days. Actually sounds quite cool.

  • Simply the best movie ever.

  • His facial expressions while playing the solo kill me! rofl.

  • That was the best part of and awesomely funny movie.

  • I started cracking up when I saw. I think it'd be hilarious if Ac/Dc all of a sudden broke into this on stage.

  • ClassicAL

  • It's so funny he's playing Baroque music when they're singing about heavy duty rock n' roll. Cracked me up big time when I first saw it.

btw the solo is Boccherini's String Quintet in E major

  • its a bach prelude i think, great movie.

  • That solo is very, VERY heavy duty rock'n'roll.

  • It's between a Mozart and a Bach... it's a Mach piece, if you will ;)

  • kickass classical solo

  • what song is that though that they are playing, i want to just break into that while im playing a song. its so funny

  • Bocherini's quartet or something like that

  • It's Boccherini's Minuet; probably the most famous minuet of all time.

  • yeah but its only half a minuet long...

  • it wasn't even in dobly

  • thats awesome man
