I am a white girl and grew up going to underground shows and I love PE BDP Wu Tang after all we all came from the same 2 people in Africa so we are.....evolved from Africa everything is everything
yo, real hip hop was and still soooo powerful. it's so universal. look at all them heads out there in this vid. mad white folks out there. its a beautiful thing.
Sometimes, it's hard to tell what came first: entertainment or the message. I can't think of any act that has combined them better, although Rage Against the Machine deserves mentioning. They do each other honour.
it's so cool to see how that this breaks through time and space to remain even
more relevant to this day. SIt down, read the entire lyrics of this track.
It's a mind blower..aside from the other aspects of the song! Ultra classic
with meaning and heart, from the start..who I trust...ME that's WHO. peace thanks for posting these clips. To bad the souls been bought and sold to the soulless who made it without a soul.
This is good because it is real art, not the manufactured crud that is force fed to you by the media today.
PE had a hard time getting even soul radio stations to play their music because it was considered too controversial. You won't hear lil wayne talk about the US government the way PE does. Todays performers are just that, performers. PE were artists and activists.
Also look up BDP, KRS1, NAS for social commentary rap.
Greats of music, of hip-hop, and of energy. This is when they'd been around a while, and they STILL brought an energy that you don't see any more. Mostly because now we have jokers that should be a "hype man" headlining shows by themselves.New crap like weezy, soldier boy, drake, everyone except Jay and maybe Luda, or Kanye, they are all glossy, talented retards, who back in the day would have been hype men, accompanying an MC with real nutz, and something real 2 say. My opinion.
this is a real hiphop show..real mc's real dj that actualy sctratches live..not fake dj looks like he scratching when thers no scratching on the song..public enemy true hiphop
fuckin incredible i saw pe in edmonton, alberta, CANADA! in 99 the original hard rhymers!! hip hop today is dead, i hate to say it but compared to groups like pe, eric b & rakim, kool g rap, big daddy kane, kool moe dee, grandmaster flash, hip hop is dead lyrically, thank god ice-t did away with soulya bitch
My favorite hip-hop group of all-time. We have yet to see any one come close to accomplishing what Public Enemy has done. I don't mean record sales, fuck that, I mean actually standing for something and starting a world movement. These guys weren't being watched by the FEDS for their good looks back in the day. What other rap group had kids and adults alike marching in the streets all over not just in New York for civil and equal rights, also police brutality. A RIOT ON WAX....
@88era SO TRUE!!! 100% MY WHOLE ATTITUDE WAS BECAUSE OF A BELIEF IN MYSELF BECAUSE OF THESE GUYS. I WAS ONE OF THOSE BLACK KIDS WHO FELT LIKE THEY DIDNT BELONG. UNTIL I HEARD THEM.
@montrealfrancedub White people be still gettin down with Old School REAL HIP HOP than Black People today, Black People are too busy with Lil Wayne, Souljaboy, 50 Cent, Other Dumbass South Rappers.
@qwandiddy Thank you for speaking for a entire race obviously your not to smart but anyone who speaks for a entire race of people 100% of time is wrong so speak for your self brotha.
That statue was of OJ Simpson - I was at this concert - The Vh1 people are responsible for the the video... Can't remember why Flav had that statue - it had something to do with how "they" took OJ's Heisman trophy in legal proceedings. Flav never makes much sense in comparison to Chuck.
I had my denim jacket with a sow on patch of NWA ... my mate had his with public enemy sown on ... awesome times!!!
