  • was it a easy to wire those mirrors

  • Stunning machine bro, well done. With that air filter, do u need to be worried about water getting in?

  • Is the sprung seat any more comfortable than the stock one?

  • @briggs5sboy

I installed the Harley solo seat on my Iron last year and found it slightly better than stock. Probably because the hairpin springs don't have enough give for my weight(156lbs).

  • Really well done!

  • Nice it looks like my old one I just sold. I like all the after market improvmets. NICE!!!!!

  • Nice bike man... Like the mods you've done.

  • I live in the US ive been looking for those mirrors w/ turn signals in black... No luck so far... where did you find them? thanks bro

  • hey mate, Im interested in getting one of these, thing is, im 6'4 and around 95 kilos and from what ive heard this bike is about as comfortable as a lawnmower for someone my size, i currently ride an r6 and ive customized it so its a little more comfortable but than again i didnt get an r6 for comfort, and advice ? thanks in advance...

  • I thought there was some kimd of computer box under the stock seat on the newer model irons

  • willing to sell your stock headlight? housing/bracket?

  • @13Geffen yes I am if the $ is right.

  • Where did you get the suction seat?

  • i wanna get this bike but i dont know if it would fit me well, im 6ft tall and 160lbs

  • Hey Man, I keep coming back to this vid, love your bike. Do the 6" risers require a new cable kit?

  • I would like to have like this one exactly with the Black denim

  • Love it! I think I asked you this a while back but I actually got my bike now and cant find your answer. How do you find the suction cups go on the matte finnish and where did you get your seat and sissy bar combo from and what brand are they. Thats the best solution I have seen thus far and I have been looking like crazy!

  • Awesome bike. Looking to do a mimic of yours, but on the black iron.

  • Where did you get the turn signal mirrors?

  • Hi there, Nice custom work! Question. When you fit the drag bars and 6" risers, were the original clutch and accelerator cables long enough or did you have to get longer ones?

    Cheers

  • kiero esta moto!!!!!

  • REPLY TO THIS!

i am 17 and i am going to get my first bike. i want something cool. never riden a bike before. is this ideal for me?

  • @sthlmsouthchapter Thanks bro. will look you guys up when I'm next there. are you near Malmo?

  • How do you like the Joker Relocate? I'm looking at that as my first thing I'm changing on mine.

  • @chrismcmullen Hey I've been trying to get the h-d dealership to take that plastic looking shit off the top of my light for weeks now but they don't want to drill the hole into the tree. Any info on that housing for the light would help a lot, going to try n do it myself.

  • @joltrogue It's a pretty substancial drill needed. go for it if you know what you are doing. otherwise I'd go to a custom chop shop. Good to get rid of the plastic shit though.

  • I haven't been able to find those curved risers anywhere lol, are they HD or aftermarket?

Im picking up my Iron late this year or early next year and plan to spend my summers cruising all over north america; hows your get up for LONG hauls?

I love the seat and the drag bar + the curved risers make it look really comfortable, Im a short guy, 5'7", so I figure not having to stretch too far our for the bars would be favourable...have you done any 1000km trips?

  • @theNABILcompany It was one of the first things I did but doesn't work well with the stock bars. HD supplied it.

  • Fuckin cool bike man!

  • i have the same bike... where did u get that seat?

  • @MrEfrainf HD catalog. comes in Black or Brown.

  • Awesome bike dude... though i have no room to talk you should get a brighter light in the housing or go HID with it. I dunno about you but I find the stock light bright enough to my liking. Just my two cents. Love the drag bars! Who makes them?

  • @welditup85 Thanx mate. It is actually the stock light, I only changed the housing. Prob just looks dull in the daylight. The bars are just yer standard drag bars. I don't even know what brand they are but I did PC them black. I reckon the risors help the shape too. Cheers.

  • Thanks for the reply mate, love ya ride!

  • g'day mate, would love to relocate my speedo as you have, where did you get the bracket from, did you have to cut anything?

  • @TheHarleykhan yeah man. you'll be happy for doing it. trust me. Just look up Joker Machine in the US they ship to Aus. No cutting needed and comes with brace. I got a mate to wire it for me though. Good luck!

  • Where did you get the fuel gauge from??

  • @NinjaRiderCoyle HD catalog. Its only new though so look in 2010 up.

  • I'm a Honda fan, but this bike is a beauty!!!

  • @Csirkefoga Thanks mate. I rode a shadow b4 this.

  • thank's i had the dealer install for me for 30.00..

  • seriously good video, thanks

  • @BeccyWall Cheers!

  • i don't know why but i keep saying that the Iron 883 is the lil' bro of the 48 ;D

  • @DC8370 yep I agree. I reckon the iron is better in Traffic and the 48 is best for the open road though. It's just a bit more nimble whereas the 48 has more power. I can't really fault either.

  • haha i was wondering why that voice sounded so familiar!

  • @michaelreedification Ha! Long time no see mate. Heard your fighting 4 the country now, Respect.

Say Hi to George and Connie for me and stay safe bro.

  • was it hard to install the speedo relocate brackit i bought one and don't now if i sould tri it myself?

  • @rbillington0001 The wiring is the tricky part but thats about it.

  • I have this same Sporty. I bought her out of the showroom last May, 2010. I love your modifications. Im doing the same thing now with the mirrors and you made the HL look super classy. The seat also accentuates the pure value of your bike. I lovemy Sporty and have been jotting down ideas for months, still havent touched her, just ride her until i get. But im def doing the headlight, controls and mirrors first thing. thank you!

  • Hey Chris where did you get that pillion seat from?????

    Cheers Mate

  • @chrisnorman83 The clip on back is in the Harley catalog and fits really well. The suction cap seat I picked up at a swap meet at Deus, they might be able to help you out. They don't stock them but they may be able to put u onto the guy that does them.

  • @chrismcmullen Cheers! Great looking bike by the way. That spring seat is all time!

  • @chrisnorman83 The Harley Catalog.

  • @chrisnorman83 The clip on sissy bar is from the HD Catalog. And the seat bit I just picked up at a swap meet.

  • really like this bike. But mate tell me, would this be something you would ride on long journeys say Adelaide to Townsville?

  • @NedKelly5580 Thanks man. Nah I'd go for something more powerfull for that kind of trip. Like a plane.

  • @chrismcmullen LMAO yeah no shit. But... lets say ya wanted the adventure, would this do?

  • @NedKelly5580 Nah. def get something more powerful (with a fifth gear and a really comfy seat). I actually downgraded from a bigger bike to this one cause I was after something small and agile with plenty of torque.

Most of my riding is around the city and through traffic so this suits me well. All the best mate and I envy the big adventure. enjoy

  • Wow man nice bike. I'm not a big fan of the silver bike, but you have done a great job with yours. I really like it. Great job.

  • Dude, you probably have the best looking Iron 883 on youtube imo...very clean and good call with getting rid of the "plastic shit"

  • also i run my own custom paint business if you ever fancy pimping it up a bit!

d-lucks custom paint workshop - brighton

  • @mission100uk Awesome. Cheers mate. I have been wanting to paint it matt green, army style for a while. just a pity I'm on the other side of the world. I hope to make it over your way some day so I'll def look you up, I have a few friends in the UK i've been meaning to catch up with. Good luck with the Iron and if you do put a vid of it up let me know.

  • @chrismcmullen well if you do come, then let me know! ill be posting a video soon.. though all ive managed to do so far is re-paint it.. those stock exhaust are killing me, they have to go soon.

  • nice set of mods there.. good idea with the headlight. not sure about those mirrors. had them on Street bob but think their a bit big and long in the arm for an Iron, but thats taste eh. love the rest dude.. very creative. im getting my 2011 iron next week.. ever down on the south coast (brighton) hit me up and ill show you around!

  • Why do you sound like you're exhausted?

  • @TheLemonWarrior cause life's a treadmill dude. ride away....

  • Hey man great bike. Ok i have a question. Im quite sure its unsafe but just wanted to confirm, do you think its possible to have your pillion seat without the sissy bar, cuz in my opinion the sissy bars ruins the whole look AND i do not wanna put the badlander or any other double seat. Thanks.

  • @vish6565 yeah , I'd feel pretty unsafe with a pillion who doesn't ride themselves. Its mainly when you take off. The iron has a fair bit of torque and it can catch the pillion off guard. I agree it looks better without it, but when someone is sitting there it more or less goes un noticed.

  • Think you'll find yr partner has been sending the link around cause he finds it funny. Some guys just don't get it... Can't do the ride, but will be at Deus shooting for Pipeburn from 10-12ish.

  • Chris

Nice bike. Hey - next time can we also have a shot of you in those leather chaps you were talking about?

    AJ

  • @Pamberjack AJ u funny bastard. How'd u find my link?

I'm hitting the southcoast for a ride tomozz if ur keen.

Then the custom show at deus for lunch.

let us know. I'll wear my chaps...

  • the mirrors on this bike are AWSOME ! nice work

  • How much did you get the pipes for? HD in Canberra want 820 with baffles installed. Did u install them yourself??

  • Chris, just a quick note to say your bike looks great! Bought my 2010 Iron in May this year and have just started changing a few things, nice work!!

  • @Mr79Sanchez Thanks. yeah I got mine in Nov last year. Took me about 6 mths to get it to where it is, just kept changing things, seemed never ending.

  • Hey man,

very sweet bike. The intergrated front indicators work really well. Where did you get them?

    Pillion seat = perfect solution

Do u reackon the 5" rise on the drag bars is a must?

  • @MrThejd69 Cheers mate. The indicators are from HD. you get the full mirror set up as one. Depends on comfort with the risers. A mate of mine doesn't have them and he gets a sore neck on the long runs. But it would be fine on short trips.

Personally I prefer them they make the forks look longer and the seating position is much more comfortable.

  • yeah mate, black denim, with bassani sweepers in matt black, forward controls, hd heavy breather, powered it up with a super tuner from hd aswell. also took the reflectors off the forks....love the bike and cant wait till the weather gets better so its even more enjoyable to ride.

  • Very nice bike........have a 2009 iron my self

  • @HD883iron Danka.

  • awesome ride mate, got the same but in denim . love the frnt indicators and the number plate relocation..will try to get a vid of mine up soon.

  • @883ironfan cool mate. look fwd to seeing it. By denim do you mean Black? The silver is also denim.

  • Amazing video mate, Cheers for posting it! Stoked you shoed the solution to a part time pillion seat I been wondering about that for a while. Didn't want to get a double seat.

  • Whats the "Plastic shit"?

  • @skaterock7734 The plastic bracket they mount the light on with when you buy it stock.

  • i have an 09 iron, how did u get that seat to fit on there...the harley shop told me it wouldnt fit..

  • @GlueMan16

Nah. fits perfectly. I did it myself. Not sure why they would say that.

  • @GlueMan16 Maybe wear the ECM is mounted? I know it wouldn't work on my 08 for that reason.

  • dude i love your bike i have an 09 iron 883 it's a bad ass bike!!!! where did you get that suction cup passenger seat and sissy bar? i need to get me one of those

  • @mrtacoff

The sissy bar is from Harley and I picked up the pad from a swap meet, someguy who makes them. not sure who now.

  • Love your bike, dude! Thinking of getting the same mirrors with the turn signals.

But where did you buy your license plate mounting? I can't have side mounted license plate mounting in Europe, and the mounting that comes stock looks like garbage. It looks like black and all i can find on the internet are chrome.

  • @saaklart Thanks mate. The mirrors are def worth considering to get rid of the indicators. The plate mount is actually made from a V shaped piece of metal (that I pained black) really simple and I picked up the lights on ebay. I don't know if it exists as a kit. hope that helps.
