@joshuamyler its an early type of plastic called shelac but they were pressed with ground up slate to wear the needle down and help it fit the groove better, thats why these needles should be used ONCE only
and like pongboy1100 said they will crack or chip easily if knocked and if dropped it will just shatter, or in my case when my dad sits on them
Billy Murray's Victor and Edison renditions of "Waltz me around again Willie" are among my favorite Murray records. The cylinder rendition is available on my channel.
Thank you Ragtime, glad you enjoyed it. I have a definite preference for these early classics from the golden age of recorded sound. Just great stuff with clever and entertaining music and lyrics. If you have any suggestions as what you would like to hear, let me know, as I may have the record in inventory.
thank you for this :)

You can't hear music like this on MTV.
My college roommate had a Victrola w/
a horn over half a century ago. He also had
a coonskin coat from the 1920s.
Tnx 4 the entertaining post.

If you have "Huckleberry Pie"
A duet by Jones and Murray
That would be great.
I heard this record once before and have never bin able to find a copy of it.
It has bin one of the more elusive records in my search.
If you have a copy of it I would love to hear it.
Thanks : )
