Who among the Palestinians is meant to hold hold criminals and radical armed groups to account if the police are bombed? Surely if Israel honestly wants a two nation peace agreement, this is a step in the wrong direction. Palestine needs a "honest broker" police force rather than political militias and thugs ruling the streets.

Hamas are the corner into which Israel has driven the Palestinian people. When the secular PLO were in the ascendant the Israelis deliberately encouraged Hamas to weaken Fatah. If you do not like Hamas then know that it is the illegal occupation, the blockade of Gaza. the apartheid wall, the non-return of the refugees and the murder of civilians that causes people to support them. If Hamas are destroyed the Palestinians will support some other extreme.
