  • Public works jobs in the U.S. go to GOVERNMENT WORKERS. These ASSHOLES are already WAY over-paid. Fuck this, I'm moving to CANADA.

  • The u.s.a. is only going through "rough economic times" because the criminal powers that be are making it so. Let's destroy this oppressive, worthless government and start over.

  • Canada is out of resssion ? . This dude is fucked in the head EDIT THIS YOU MAXHEADROOM FUCK . Ediot fuck

  • It didn't actually generate power until September 11th 1936, though - three days later. There's a plaque right on the damn that expressly states that.

  • Congraz stef for being in RT!

Freedomain Radio is amazing and I dare anyone to listen to it at iTunes

  • In a word, the answer is NO.

  • who knew that canadians could be corporate robots.

  • Those two need to get it ON... get some you two!

  • The environmentalists would NEVER allow the building of the Hoover Dam today. Obama would face a defection from the left. And, of course, we could only use UNION members to build it, which tells 93% of Americans that you need not apply.

    F*ck Obama.

    .

  • There is always hope. Will you be part of the solution or stand by and watch America crumble? EMPOWER YOURSELF!! And so, my fellow Americans: ask not what your country can do for you - ask what you can do for your country.

    .

  • My president is concerned for Americans, I hope to God it will be successful.

As a Republican, I'm not concerned who has a plan, only that it has viability.

If this is true and it could well be; I need and we as Americans have a need for a plan like this to be true. If sound, let it be passed and implemented, now and not later. Right? I'm not caring who comes up with a plan that works, but I do worry some would vote it down even w/o taking a look at it and that would be a great loss for all.

  • who the hell wants to work in construction????

  • Its good to see that RT offers multiple perspectives, even though Stefan doesn't really know shit about economics and is completely head up the ass about ALMOST everything he offers his opinions on I still like that RT gives everyone they can a voice. Keep the truth alive RT and I'll keep coming back.

  • @BlackTigerpro Stefan is anything but ignorant. His free online books "Everyday Anarchy" and "Practical Anarchy" offer a lot of insight about economics.

  • @TheManInBlackChannel Don't worry about it. Peter Joseph destroyed this guy in this clip:

  • it doesn't matter what blowbama says. it's just going to be total b.s.

  • well instead of our government contracts going to iraq, they could invest in infrastructure. high speed rail, clean energy, needed construction, needed maintenance, ext. cutting taxes is neccessary but not at the expense of cutting SS and welfare. these programs need to be reformed and in the case of welfare gradually minimized but nothing can be immediate. end military occupations, cut the military budget, corporate welfare, and foreign aid all should be considered before SS and welfare. imo

  • 08/22/2011 date to remember the US humanitarians enabled reactionary forces to cause their long planned genocide on Libyan people while entering Tripoli !

NEVER FORGET THIS WAR CRIME !

  • "Up here in Canada we are out of the recssion." This dude is fucked in the head.

  • @dynomike1964 He may be referring to data that determines it. For instance many people weren't aware that the Great depression had started til the stock market crash in Oct,but according to the data it really started in Aug of 1929.

  • Sure it will work, because it's only cement and steel contractors that are out of work. I was being facetious. Yet it's much better money spent instead of keeping fat cats afloat so they can go bankrupt rich! ie; Bank of America.

  • hyperinflation is caused by short selling. don't waste your time with this max headroom idiot. go see "the secrets of oz" by bill still and "the still report" on youtube on how to fix the economy. freedomain radio is full of humbug. governments should not borrow money and pay interest but print their own debt free money instead. see prof. steven keen, dr. michael hudson, prof william k black, webster tarpley on tarpley.net . stefano go jump off a cliff you austrain clown goon show.

  • Every single politician should be burned at the stake for heresy and high treason! Not just americans, all over the world.

Burn them all, cancel all countries, disband all armies and make all people aware it is a fucking planet we are living on.

No? Use your brains - you know: the spongee thing inside your heads. Your minerals come from africa, oil from the middle east, cars from asia and so on... sepparate contries are a retarded excuse to hoard resources at the expense of the helpless!

  • there isn't any hope for the us, Not even if Ron Paul becomes president. if Ron Paul doesn't do as they tell him to like Obama, he will be executed like JFK or mysteriously commit suicide. There is hope though, and that is to kill the source of the problem, the people we don't see on TV or in public. I'm sure you guys know who they are.

  • theres no jobs plan, either people start fucking hiring workers or they dont.

  • As far as the "great depression" goes......nothing happens, it's caused!! This is the smoke screen just talking about it. And as far as the infrastructure goes, we the tax payers are PAYING FOR IT!! Remember those shitty gas prices we have right now. They went down, but came right back up again. And people that have been making great money, do like the rest of us have been doing. MAKE IT STRETCH. Most have done that with far less!

  • First lets abolish the Fed,Wall street & the military complex. than we have millions of miles of rail roads & decaying bridges all over the country that need to be repaired that will provide hundreds of thousands of jobs for Americans. & then do what was stated in that video where the govt: needs to create regulation that will promote small business growth as well...

  • "We had almost no stimulus package and we are almost out of the recession." Don't say that too loud. The mobs in the US might lynch you for disagreeing.

  • Certain projects are fine if they serve a purpose, we need new technology, we should be expanding Geo Thermal and Thorium nukes..a program to replace old infrastructure and replace it with new is a good thing. We just need Glass Stegall to make it happen, getting rid of debt that doesn't fit will make it happen so there is no excuse for not doing it.

  • @C Exactly right new energy tech MUST be built, SM is spewing capitalist propaganda.

"Money/market" is ROOT of problems, how do we:

    1. stop corruption caused by profit motive?

    2. ensure everyone has minimum necessities?

    ANSWER

    1. FREELY Share ALL resources & knowledge worldwide, NO more money/property

    2. Use LATEST technology to create an ABUNDANCE of all our needs, NO more waste/theft

    3. Automate/localize ALL production and distribution, NO more central control/wage slavery

  • Its so dark in Ontario , Canada .

  • Sorry Americans, we took all your money and your children's money to use to blow shit up in the Middle east and then rebuild it. No jobs for you but you can join the military to kill and die to make rich people richer. They greatly appreciate it.

  • @127miles I do LOL them female host are hot

  • A better idea - start a WW, done it before. Cut both ways, reduce population and create jobs.

  • why don't we just have a bloodless war with water-bombs and supersoakers we can have full employment AND not destroy anything and use up precious resourses - oh yeah because war and fake alien invasions are a ZERO SUM GAME. they don't work. they're a pipedream

  • I fear we are fixing up the transit for the new global serfs. They will price free travel by car out of existence and we will all be left to go by train or bus, or God knows what else. There is method to Obama's madness, and I think it wise to look beyond the supposed good to what the real motivation may be. You can't expect corrupt crooks to suddenly change their game plan this late in the game. Let's call this for what it is.

  • If you build a train or a road, there has to biome purpose. Is it because people need to take the train to work? If that is the best they have, the government jobs will ripple into the private sector and stimulate the economy somewhat, but where's the long term once these projects are done? Where do the workers go then? Do they take the train to the unemployment office?

  • Speaking from personal experience, the government has created so many restrictions and guidelines for small businesses that they either go broke or pass on ridiculous prices to their customers just to stay legal. This prevents some businesses from ever beginning, or shuts down existing ones. To make matters worse, our factories are relocating because they make better profits overseas. Ask Obama's job czar, CEO of GE, who just moved 120 American jobs over to China.

  • @TheSpeckofdust Oh sorry I thought you were someone else. She is wild in the sack. She turns into a succubus and drains your soul. Totally worth it though lol

  • @TheSpeckofdust Sorry, Im not understanding your question

  • lol at the idea that cutting regulations and lowering taxes works, bush is the prime example of what happen when you do

  • I think what we're seeing here is the foundations of WWIII.

  • The truly creative become more self destructive when reduced to servant or slave, for their only peace came in dreams of a world to inspire and save and die in this modern market hell, where they only survive by what they sell.

  • Lol @ these fuckin people that just act like obama can hit a switch and everything will be fixed; this country is beyond repair, if u think otherwise youre in denial.

  • stop buying everything from china and start making it in the usa... duh!!!

  • if the government said they will create jobs! that means there warning Americans there about to lose a hell of a lot more jobs! just look at the history of what government says and its ALWAYS the opposite! End free trade! send troops to the southern borders! end the wars! arrest the central bankers! eliminate that fraud federal reserve! elect RON PAUL! just may be just may there might be a chance at turning around this luciferian new world order!

  • this guy is a Doush!! and he has a Homo name....an Iron worker should snap his neck like a chicken bone..

  • What we need to do is compete. We need equal competition against the whole world, then there is the war thingy.

  • It's just passing out more money to unions and global warming kooks.

  • @TheSpeckofdust Never married or dated her but we had some steamy sex on several occasions ;)

  • @wipemysmile was it when Lauren was working for THE 'free market' freaks team on TV after graduation ?

  • @MrViTopol I don't know. She didn't talk much. She just paid me for sex and went on her way. (LOL yeah right)

  • A "jobs plan" from government will only create government jobs. If they want to put Americans back to work they should just get the fuck out of the way. Eh who am I kidding, they know that, they just don't want to put Americans back to work. They want to turn us into a 3rd world country like they have the rest of them.

  • @wipemysmile

I'm sorry but how will the government "getting out of the way" magically create jobs? People like to speak of "free market magic" yet have ZERO evidence to back it up.

Do you know what separates industrialized countries like the US, Japan, Germany, etc. from third world countries? INFRASTRUCTURE.... Roads, power, communication, transportation, energy, we've let it crumble while focusing on stupid ass wars. People & businesses can't thrive with *nothing* to support them.

  • @oolong2 Just about every point you tried to make is incorrect. 1st the government gets in the way by putting too much regulation on businesses and products which makes companies want to hire overseas. The proof is the greatest country/economy ever. They haven't always been in the way. 2nd your explination of what separates countries like us from 3rd world countries is only half true. The back bone is the middle class which is what creates all the industry etc. TBC

  • @wipemysmile

    1. The "too much regulation" argument is propoganda from the oligarchs to fool you. YES there are a few bad regulations, yet many actually CREATE jobs and industries.

    2. Without social security, medicare, minimum wage, unnions and regulations of fair labor practices there would be NO middle class. How do you think we GOT a middle class in the 20th century?

    3. Crappy trade policiies and abandoning of tarriffs under Reagan & Clinton led to a mass exodus of manufacturing jobs.

  • @wipemysmile

So in other words... When you look at all the factors that have led to the decline in the middle class. Nearly every single one was caused by government "getting out of the way" NOT government "getting in the way".

Instead of keeping the union strong and protecting it's people it was serving the wealthy.

The only exception might be the Fed manipulating interest rates. However the Fed is actually a *private* organization that basically works on behalf of international banks.

  • @oolong2 You are confused. Unions do not consist of the middle class. They are a bureaucracy that leaches off the middle class with their unsustainable benefit packages and the fact that they don't create wealth. They redistribute it through government employment. Government doesn't generate any money other than what it steals from the people therefore what it pays out to its employees comes from the producers of private industry. The Fed is only applicable because it adds to the ponzi scheme

  • @oolong2

    1. Thats funny, because oligarchs consistently lobby for new regulations, and publically voice their support of democrats.

    2. Bullshit the middle class is hundreds of years old. The question you should be asking is why was the growth of the middle class slowed in the 20th century.

    3. No. It lead to cheaper products for americans. Without that the purchasing power of all americans might of droped instead of rising.

  • @ghostbuddy

    1. Bullshit. Money goes to whomever supports deregulation, tax cuts for the wealthy, and corporatism.

After the election money goes to the "party in charge", so that the oligarch can influence whomever is in power.

    2. Google "Income inequality in the United States" then get back to me.

    3. It led to cheaper products, dismanteling of our manufacturing industry, and fewer jobs. "Made In America" disappeared after the 80s, but hey at least you have your cheap Chinese shit...

  • @oolong2 Propaganda? lol Whoever told you that is the source of propaganda. Over regulation causes several problems. Employers become less confident in the market & reluctant to hire. It forces business overseas & it allows other countries with less regulation to make the same products easier & cheaper. Socialized programs didn't create the middle class jackass, Free market & industrial revolution did. As for your last comment, those 2 presidents presided over the 2 best economies so its invalid

  • @wipemysmile Regulation makes America less competitive and encourages capital flight. The question is not why businesses are outsourcing to China (that's not the problem), the question is why firms are downsizing in America.

  • @truevoice08 Because the economy is being destroyed through the destruction of the dollar, deficit spending and unsustainable government growth. Businesses (small business especially) can no longer support a large overhead. Another symptom to the problem.

  • @wipemysmile True, although large banks and politically connected corporations benefit from the rise in asset values due to money printing. We both know that's anti-free market.

  • @truevoice08 Absolutely. This is what you call fascism where the interests of the corporations (or banks) supersede the interests of the people. Simply put we are in a world of shit in a country where the people are finally beginning to wake up politically but far too late. Ignorance is bliss and then it all comes crashing down.

  • @wipemysmile I am not from your country but I sympathize with your cause. All eyes will be on America as long as it stays the top military and economic power. Those who pay closely enough discover the Ron Paul movement and hopefully take the red pill. It's an important cause, since the Left has won everywhere except in America where free market rhetoric of the GOP (as damaging it is to the real free market cause) still indicates public recognition of economic freedom.

  • @truevoice08 I am a Ron Paul supporter but I fear it is too late. I believe that even if by some miracle he were elected he would be assassinated like every other US president that has stood in the way of the establishment. Change will not come from the government. It will come from a people fed up who are finally willing to do what their founding fathers did under less tyranny. I pray this time it will be global because no matter where you live our enemies are the same. Its time we ALL realize.

  • @wipemysmile I also am of the opinion that a Ron Paul presidency will not be able to reform the whole government (after all, president =/ dictator) or might even be counterproductive as the market will be blamed for deeper plunge into depression. But the educational value of Ron Paul's political campaign is incomparable. Paul doesn't proselytize, people come to him. It is striking proof of the Nock's theory in "Isiah's Job". As for the shit intellectual scene, Illegitimi non carborundum!!!

  • @truevoice08 Good point. Paul is a voice crying in the wilderness and rather than hope for him to be a savior we would be more wise to just appreciate his message and hope that it expedites the change that must come from the people. My belief is that America is behind in the movement sweeping the globe. While other countries rise up and demand human rights we sit and argue over politics and ideologies while any remnants of freedom and democracy vanish. We must look so stupid to outsiders

  • @truevoice08 Good point. My belief is that America is behind in the movement sweeping the globe. • @wipemysmile Believe me, non-Americans are just as ignorant. As I said, the Left has won everywhere except America. The Repubs and Dems debate about how many tenths of a percentage point should taxes be lowered or raised but even that is taboo in the Philippines where the masses cry out for stricter penalties for tax evaders. As for "human rights" and democracy, SCREW THAT!!! Most 3rd world countries have been trying to copy the European welfare state for decades. The results are not pretty.

  • @truevoice08 And America is following suit. Many people of this country are willing to accept socialism as long as it is disguised by the name liberalism or "progressive politics" even though its policies can be seen as failures across the globe and throughout history. What a scam. It is disheartening how foolish people are. I often find myself amazed that the US ever came to be. We need the spirit that created this country to sweep the globe and rid us of our common enemy. My God help us.

  • @wipemysmile Yes, the intellectual battle is fought in America as it is the last bastion of freedom. There are of course freer countries but no intellectual leadership. Ron Paul movement needs to go global

  • @truevoice08 Precisely and not through trust in politicians that plagiarize his message but through the vigilant action of the people. Not we the people of America, but rather we the people of Earth. Sooner or later the animal will bite when hes been backed too far into the corner and I'm sharpening my teeth. :)

  • @wipemysmile or die of a heart attack

  • @wipemysmile

I can't believe people spout these talking points without a clue where they come from.

Employers are "less confident in the market"? Jesus... That is Wall St. talking.

Entreprenuers don't give a shit about "confidence in the market". They provide a product or service based on DEMAND.... They hire more people based on DEMAND.... *period*.

I actually know of two different entreprenuers who are CREATING small businesses purely out of new energy regulations.

  • @oolong2 Wow you obviously have no experience or knowledge of business. An entrepreneur who wants to start a business or offer a new product has an obstacle course of hoops to jump though to even get off the ground. Then he has to comply with all government regulations to hire employees & to develop his product. Then he has to hope that consumer confidence is high enough to even be interested in his product & if his demographic is small his chances are greatly decreased. Your post is 100% false

  • @wipemysmile

No unlike most who pretend to know how small businesses think. I've actually worked with small businesses and startups. I'm also in the process of starting my own.

They'd LOVE IT if all they had to worry about were regulations. Like I said, I know two people starting business from energy regulations, you keep ignoring that...

There is not enough demand. This is directly related to the tax code, trade policies, and the attacks on labor which has shrunk the middle class.

  • @oolong2 You have the symptoms correct but you are wrong about the problems.

  • @wipemysmile

And I'd say the same about you. The difference is I'm not following some idealogy based on an irrational fear of government. What I'm saying is backed up by recent history.

A few decades ago we had a 70% top tax bracket, tarrifs, and large powerful unions. Guess what? We also had a growing middle class. As the unions shrank, top tax bracket shrank, and tarrifs shrank. Labor has suffered and therefore so has the middle class. The oligarchy has been winning for a long time.

  • @oolong2 And what Ideology am I following. One where currency should be issued interest free and regulated by government and not private industry who can get the upper hand and seek their own interests while they have a strangle hold on the government and its people? Thats not ideology but histories proven truth. It is in fact the very reason along with taxation our founding fathers escaped to America. You are playing the devils advocate and you don't even know it.

  • @oolong2 The reason the rich aren't properly taxed is because it suits the interests of the people who are destroying us but even if they were taxed more they would still be there & would still be manipulating things as they are now. And the producers would be cut to size from the top down You have to cut the head off of the snake & taxing the assholes only gives them a flesh wound. No matter how much you tax the people it wont be enough until the integrity of the money itself is restored.

  • @oolong2 As for demand, it is only there if the economy is healthy and people have money to spend. This is the premise of a healthy economy. One which there is a demand for all and any product because of the surplus of money in peoples pocket. Without it there is less demand not because of lack of want but because of lack of means. You have no understanding of anything we are talking about.

  • @wipemysmile

OF COURSE, but what you don't realize is the 3 decades of history that has led to this point.

Why don't people have more money in their pocket? The tax code, attacks on unions/labor, & trade policies. You don't understand that a shrinking middle class is same as a wealth gap.

You somehow think that tax cuts to the rich (that we've been doing for the past TEN YEARS) and well as laying off thousands of federal workers will magically fix everything. It hasn't and it won't

  • @oolong2 The problems you are talking about may have added wood to the fire but you're not addressing the bigger problem w/o which the problems you are pointing out would be insignificant at best. Its not about the last 3 decades. Its about the last century. The issuance of currency through a private bank that devalues the dollar & controls the money supply and inflation. Prosperity has been robbed not through lack of taxation but rather through the enslavement of a centralized banking system

  • @wipemysmile

If you're going to go that far back. I'd say I have problems with the whole monetary system.

The profit motive will always be corrupting in government. Money intrests will ALWAYS try to buy politicians, influence elections, create monopolies, exploit countries (imperialism), and get the cheapest labor possible (slavory existed 200 years before a federal government), and subvert democracy.

The Fed was created BY banks FOR banks, so It's no surprise that it still works for them.

  • @oolong2 Finally we agree. Money is indeed the root of all evil and we can sit and argue the ins and outs of it until we are both blue in the face but until the world can learn to live without it we will never live in harmony where the needs of ALL humans are met. Doesn't matter what system you are under, if money is at the root it will eventually be compromised. Im only advocating a system when the money is more controlled to minimize the corruption that causes all the other problems

  • @wipemysmile

Agreed. The most powerful things in our society is government and capitalism.

So when you say gov't "get out of the way" To me you're effectively saying "money take over". Not all gov't is corrupt and many monopolies have been stopped despite lobbying (AT&T and T-Mobile)

The root problem is a failure of democracy, our system has always been flawed to allow collusion. Until we have a wall of separation between "governerment" and "profit" we'll never rid ourselves of corruption.

  • @oolong2 But how in the world do you accomplish that when greed and power are the motivating characteristics of the majority of people who gravitate towards government "service"? I think we either need a system that is based on meeting all human needs through technology and resources where money is null and void, or some kind of emotionless computer or machine run government with no personal interest at stake. Both seem too out of reach since we both know TPTB would never surrender to either.

  • @wipemysmile that'll take a fuckin while lol

  • @oolong2 Google "The Feds Block AT&T's Merger with T-Mobile Robert Murphy". History has proven that either the most corrupt individuals gravitate towards government OR benevolent individuals get corrupted while in government OR benevolent individuals are powerless in government. As for money being the root of all evil, have you asked yourself what is the ROOT OF ALL MONEY??? Google "Story of Money and Trade Walter Block"

  • @truevoice08

It's clear througout the entire artical that the author simply has ideological objections to antitrust laws based on his own irrational hatred towards government.

ALL industrialized countries have competition laws. You see a lot more competition in Europe & Japan and cheaper and better networks than we have in the US. A lot of that also has to do with infrastructure.

You CANNOT claim competition is good for "prices & progress" while in the same breath support monopolization.

  • @oolong2 "It's clear througout the entire artical that the author simply has ideological objections to antitrust laws" Does ideology make a person wrong? "You CANNOT claim competition is good for "prices & progress" while in the same breath support monopolization." I am AGAINST monopolization, that's why I'm AGAINST so-called "competition laws". Google "Myth of Natural Monopoly Dilorenzo" and next time, don't base your argument on the fact that an author is ideological.

  • @truevoice08

Ideaology doesn't make a person wrong all the time, just blind to the truth. Just like any religion, Ideology makes people ignorant because instead of looking at *facts* and *statistics* they'd rather just make unsubstantiated claims to support their belief system

Standard Oil was a myth? Microsoft is a myth?

As if every economists and every industrialized country in the world is stupid because they haven't figured it all out with a simplistic formula like libertarians have.

  • @oolong2 Where you have no middle class you have a 3rd world country where there is only 2 classes. A handful of wealthy ruling over a poor class. Its no coincidence they are destroying the middle class. They intend to turn us into 3rd world as I mentioned above. They have used this technique in every country they have destroyed and we are next.

  • @wipemysmile what is happening is this... The government is making man and women who are unemployed work for there unemployment benefits.. But here the kicker. they get to work for some corporation for 8 weeks and the corporation doesn't have to pay them or hire them. so basically the people are life slave and after 8 weeks the people get kick back out on the street and the pill in other unemployed people it keep going in a circle so its a "con game" what the young Turks video they explain

  • @KamidakeRed I would agree with that but I would also add to it. I think they want as many people on unemployment as possible to create an entitlement state where more and more are depending on government. This is how you usher in socialism in a free society if I dare call it that.

  • @wipemysmile I agree with you 100% because the more people dependent of the government the more control the have over us and the less people are willing to fight against them when the government is clearly trying to harm us for their own persona gain. People today just seem to me like cattle unwilling to fight back and just except what the government is doing to us. Its the peoples responsibility to keep the government in check but the people of this country are so brainwash that they just sit

  • @KamidakeRed Yep they've been working on the destruction of this country for a long time and have employed every trick in the book from social engineering to brainwashing to blatantly lying. I cant believe the shit we let them get away with. Shame on us for wasting the blood of our founding fathers. We now are under more tyranny than they were when they stood up for themselves and won our freedom.

  • The problem is that the Military budget is the elephant that sits on the living room couch that no one bothers to notice and these politicians are being bought by these corporations and giving them tax cuts.

  • @98bigbutt

    RON PAUL, WAKE UP.

  • @98bigbutt My problem is not with the TAX CUTS that the corporations get, its the TAXES that everyone else gets.

  • I do not like the clear bias RT is showing towards destructive and foolish stimulus packages. Once again, the host is cute but she is horribly economically illiterate.

  • In america, every president is a trojan horse for the next.

  • @SlingSalsa and every trojan horse is a president
