I could never understand why the human models are 'perfect' It's more difficult to draw a person who isn't perfect anatomically, who's to say adam and eve were... and I agree it is an inherent sexism. You have the line of her crotch and the nipples on her breasts but you can't define a penis, grow up man... Seriously. Personally I think the 'art' class should involve old people, lets's see how many mature students there are then...

I guess my next personal piece will be just a naked male with ALL the details he needs.

Although I have to say I was focusing more on learning basic anatomy and less on rendering male genitalia.

@Robertahausen, most our models were average looking people back in college. Some were absolutely beautiful, some not at all. You'll notice most everyone has a harder time drawing skinnier, bonnier bodies. It can be attributed to beginner's lack of understanding of negative space, I think. And BTW, the negation of the penis has always enraged me as well :D

@dtnyc5000 I've found it quite easy to draw bone skinny people, it's just anatomy. It's harder to draw wrinkles and saggy skin from age. It's got nothing to do with negative space really it's just the bones.

@Robertahausen It really depends. My figure drawing class have us drawing old people as well. I kinda wanna draw some more skinnier/fatter people though.

@InternetLawman obese people are hard to draw as the anatomy is essentially the same but people show the fat differently. Eg, more on the hips and not on the chest, pear shape, then there's the chicken shape and the rotund, and of course my favourite, large legs, that's so hard for me to draw

Okay guys, about the penis part: It wasnt a personal project, so there were restrictions. I wanted to model everything, BUT it's not a good idea to do this for a public end end of year project, people told me not to, so I kept it simple.

There was also a very tight time limit so I couldn't refine the models.

The most important thing about this work is the stuff I learned about anatomy and mesh topology. I started this project with zero sculpting experience.
