@KindHeartDream Yes Enya's studio- recorded and enhanced, multi-layered effects and tracks in a controlled location sounds OK.

The BIG difference is this is outside, no layering, no tracks, and 100% live Orchestra, soloists and choir. BIG difference, so I would have to say that the more difficult performance ranks as best.

I think rather than just bring one or two back as some would like, I think that for one special special performance, they should bring back every single member of Celtic Woman. Bring back Alex Sharpe, Órla Fallon, Lynn Hilary, Méav Ní Mhaolchatha, Deirdre Shannon, Hayley Westenra together with Chloe Agnew, Lisa Kelley, Lisa Lambe, and of course, Máiréad Nesbitt. I think their voices are a bit too "sweet" for this song, BUT one must keep in mind that Enya has heaven knows how many voice layers and these are only three girls (excluding chorus). But their versions of anything are always awesome, anyway ;)

@eatlivesinglove The reason is simple. This album was recorded during the show. The mics are fed to one mixer for front of house PA. A second mixer is used for the in ear monitors all the performers wear. The third mixer feeds a multi track digital recorder then is sweetened in the studio and any glitches removed.

IMO this is THE BEST version as it is an incredible arrangement, its 100% live and the percussionists are both masters of their craft and bring a depth to the music like no other orchestra. And as always the Ladies are in top form and absolutely gorgeous.

@Flygarbook Live, it isn't ruined at all. This version is set up to be heard in a concert hall in front of a real audience, so recorded, it doesn't sound quite as impressive. Once you actually hear it live however, it blows you out of your seat. I like both versions (Enya and Celtic Woman) and Enya was the one who did it first and got me listening to this kind of music. However, live, I'm afraid that Enya just doesn't quite cut it.
