I keep looking for more of your more recent recital...only to be disappointed. You keep improving, and the hand movement fits better with the lyric. Personally, I'd like to see you step out of the art song period and try both earlier and later music. Oh, what the hell. What ever you post, I'll be looking....and listening,,,
@TheMrpatyk So flattering! I have to work on the hand motion thing constantly, because it still feels unnatural, but I'm working on it. And it just so happens that I've been doing a lot of early music recently— Monteverdi's Rosa del ciel (and maybe Possente spirto soon) and some Purcell. I've been singing some new works by composer friends, but nothing more than that. I'll get to Britten stuff eventually.
Thanks for telling me about this video! *Much* better with the breathing and support...but more importantly your passion was much more evident here. There are quite a few measures of this in which you sound almost identical to Juan Diego Florez (though God knows he'd never sing anything like this - I'm pretty sure he has a phobia of German aria).
Robert May!!! It's been since Tanglewood that I've heard you and you sound absolutely fantastic! Your voice has grown so much. I wish I could attend your recital....toi toi toi!!! ~Suzanne
@Flicksta101 Thank you, Dr. Flick, for watching this video! I'm so honored that you'd watch it. I'll see you next year; I can't wait to music history with you.
You are incredible! Who is your voice teacher?
