Jadakiss sounds like a damned moron! His piece should have been edited out of this video. Busta, though a fool, at least answers the questions without sounding completely caught off guard.
Most rappers now are Bi-Sexual (GAY), thats why they have so many WOMEN (bitches, as they say) around them, cuz they have LOW self-esteem and they need to cover up the fact that they GAY!!! If they were not big artists, no girl would deal with most of them.
all that has nothing to do with HIP HOP its things that are going on in life period, HIP HOP is not about that stuff thats just guys rapping not all rappers are hip hop anyone can pick up a mic and rap just like justin bieber is doing now, but they dont represent HIP HOP , it was made to bring positive to people, but people who started rapping that had no knowledge of hip hop they just want to be rap starts
Now getting off of Nelly lol... This has turned out to be a very insightful documentary so far. I think more black ppl should watch this, it's very eye opening.
I think those women from Spelman needed to get those women in the video DEGRADING THEMSELVES to the campus to also talk about how they let me objectify them. IMO, when it comes to that issue its a 50/50 situation, you cant fully blame Nelly for something that those women allow men to do to them. btw: I think ppl fail to realize that Nelly was doing his bone marrow drive to save his sister's life who died from leukemia in 2005.
@DMJ9012 i don't think that they ignoring the women's involvement in the video. the women didn't show up to spelman asking for their help. nelly did. it strikes me as odd that he refused to have a sitdown with the the women who very well could have saved his sister's life. you can't ask someone for such a huge favor, then turn around and basically tell them that their opinions are so unimportant to you, that you can't even spare a few moments to hear what they have to say afterward.
IT STARTS IN THE HOME. IF YOU TELL YOUR KIDS THAT THEY ARE BEAUTIFUL, THAT THEY ARE VALUABLE AND THAT WHAT'S INSIDE THEIR BODIES IS WAY MORE IMPORTANT THAN WHATS ON THE OUTSIDE, THEY DON'T NEED OUTSIDE VALIDATION. I AM A MOTHER OF 4. 20, 19, 16 AND 15. 2 ARE IN COLLEGE, NO KIDS, NO FELONIES AND NO DRUGS. 2 ARE IN HIGH SCHOOL. ALSO NO KIDS, DRUGS OR FELONIES. MY MOST IMPORTANT JOB IS LEADING MY KIDS DOWN THE RIGHT PATH. CAUSE IF I FAIL AS A MOTHER, NOTHING ELSE IN MY LIFE WILL MEAN ANYTHING!
Russell (SMH), I expected some decent insight from you. You have profited from the hip hop game and helped lay a foundation, yet you have no constructive POV on the topic at hand?
@blurelic4 you expected more from russel simmons? a man who would attach his name to something like the rush card? a cards which not only takes a portion of YOUR hard earned money, but does nothing to help your finacial/credit situation. he should know better than to peddle something like that, given the fact that many AA have such poor money money management issues and things like this only make it worse.
@TONE5911 I think that this doc shows the lack of conscious thought in our community. The men don't think about how the image of being a womanizing pimp in a music vid effects our community and our women don't stop to think about how they present themselves effects our community. Nelly refused to sit and actually talk, think and discuss his work with the people who consume his product. This shows that he does not really value educated Black minds, but really dumb Black money.
Respond to this video... Russel simmons really got on my nerves in this doc. He is suppose to be some kind of Zen guru, he has books about spirituality. He is the father of two little black girls. I expected more from his comments than its not my problem.
NO ONE MAKES THESE WOMEN SHAKE THEIR ASSES IN THE VIDEO'S. SOME OF THE WOMEN GET PAID FOR SHOOTING THE VIDEO'S. IF YOU AREN'T A BITCH THEN YOU SHOULDN'T BE OFFENED. I WANT A PERSON TO RAISE THEIR HANDS IF THEY ARE TRUE BITCHES AND SOMEONE WILL, BUT THAT BECAUSE THATS WHAT THEY SEE THEMSELVES AS. IF YOU DON'T THEN DON'T LET THIS BULLSHIT BOTHER YOU. SOMEBODY CALLS ME A BITCH I KNOW I'M NOT, WHY YOU STRESSIN IT? I GUESS CAUSE WE ALL STILL HAVEN'T GROWN UP OR WE NEED SOMETHING TO TALK ABOUT HUH? I
THE STUDENTS OF COLLEGE IN THE DOCUMENTARY USED THE ARTIST AND THE FACT THAT HE WAS ON THEIR CAMPUS TO SPEAK OF SOMETHING NEGATIVE. ALL YOU ALL DID WAS SET THE MAN UP, EVERYONE IS FULL OF SHIT. NELLY CHOSE YOUR CAMPUS TO HOLD THE DRIVE, BECAUSE BLACKS IN AMERICAN ARE ALWAYS SEEN AS STUPID, BUT THE TRUTH IS BLACKS ARE IF NOT SMARTER THAN OTHER, ARE JUST AS SMART AS OTHERS. HE WANTED TO SHINE THE LIGHT OF HIS SUCESS ON TO YOUR INSTITUTE. YALL TRIED TO USE HIM JUST LIKE EVERY ONE ELSE DOES.
@GurlCaa yeah the bling-bling and the gansta rap is dead. but the bitch- hoe thing is still very much alive. just look at enrique iglesias new videos, bit bulls, and whats worse is now the women have started doing it to themselves like lady gaga and the pussycat dolls and alot of beyonce's videos.
Help me understand something here. How do you people not fault the corporations behind this nonsense. You can go back to Burt Williams and the mistral show and see the same nonsense there. Whenever there are white men with money, blacks will do just about anything.
The worst part about the portrayal of women in rap videos is that a lot of women don't care, a lot of them respond to it by saying that there are differences between whores and women....but they fail to understand is that people will always stereotype women by what is being shown to them...and that unfortunately is disgusting and degrading imagery.
4:42 said it exactly. it is the role of women in american culfure and media from the 2o's have always glorified violence. those gangsters and todays white male action heros are the same as the gangstas. A far cry from the bamboon racist character of the 20/s. Yet he arguablly still exsist in the one liner goof in maybe li' jon. this hasn't been brougnt up.
this is the most self destructive generation of black americans there has ever been. how can you enjoy each other's company when you are portraying yourself as a predator. i feel sorry for the sane ones that have a positive outlook about their future cuz it can be snatched at anytime by the thug wannabes that have swallowed the racist lie that to be black means anger and violence.
The girls talking about how they weren't offended by being objectified reminded me of that Chris Rock standup bit. "If you ask any of 'em why they're not offended by what this dude is saying they all give you the same answer: 'HE AIN'T TALKING ABOUT ME!' SMACK HER WIT A DICK SMACK HER WIT A DICK"

Very, very interesting. I'm currently thinking through where I stand with regard to women dressing in this kind of manner. On one hand, I'm like "women shouldn't be held hostage to other people's ideas about how they should dress, the problem is with mysognistic society" - But on the other, I think "if you're gonna dress like a 'ho, you gonna get treated like one."
@AfricansArise I agree with the dressing, but its imprtant to understand that women dress this way due to 'internal sexism' which is when women are so influenced by sexist images in the media, that they think dressing in skanky clothes will make them attractive and appealing. It's the same as 'internal racism' when people act a certain way because they think their race should act that way due to images portrayed and stereotypes.
im sorry but really alot of girls are just against that whole women thing is cause they dont look like the women that are in the video...cause wenever you get girls talking against it they usually ugly...
This segment is pure pussy worship. Without question men are the main targets of exploitation in rap, however in the media, exploitation has an exclusively female face. So many male rappers are fathers, college graduates, and entrepreneurs, but sold to the public as gangsters, pimps, and tricks. Male rappers are the target of real life violence and robbery, but somehow, topics about consenting woman shaking their ass on camera shares the spotlight.
As if "the poetry that reflects it" can't be among the catalysts that help perpetuate it? Russell Simmons, absolute DOUCHEBAG. Sad to say, but HIPHOP, just like every other "culture" used to degenerate a generation, is owned by ZIONISTS. (of EVERY "religious" background, not just "Jews") Biggy and Pac WERE INDEED sacrificed to breed this violent dynamic that has become so ubiquitous. Simmons and his ilk are merely ZIO-PUPPETS.
and "hiphop" is just another term perverted the superstructure that owns every organ of information dissemination you have access to. Except that pesky INTERNET.
the problem with hip hop and rap these days is that the gehetto culture which promotes pimping, drug use, and black killing as completely took over the music styles.
"Dear Mama" need more songs like that from ALLL MUSICIANS from all aspects of MUSIC to BE PROUD OF THE FEMALE BEING. Not subject women to titles such as "bitches" and "hoes". Putting females in such categories just belittle the female and make me not want to listen to that rap artist EVER AGAIN~
The fact that this brothers have no idea what they're doing and why they're doing it shows their ignorance. MASSIVE ignorance. Weak minds are the easiest to deceive, manipulate, and control. I swear, I'm beginning to think hip hop culture is part of some master plan to destroy black people in this country. Lol. My two cents.
america is sex driven and violence driven, so u cant just blame hip hop. mainstream hip hop just goes by what is around it. u gotta lokk at every thing in the world b4 u blame hip hop.
rappers like Kiss put up weak arguments on violence. i mean come on you say r.i.p to this person yeah i wish you were still alive yet that same thing you talk about on a record you uplift it??
this film is great and all but i don't like the fact of them focusing on blacks so much..i thought it was called Hip Hop: Beyond Beats & Rhymes not BLACK STATE OF MIND
@graffbx true say! never thought about it like that ...people like eminen, cypress hill, bubba sparx ...they all displayed male bravado too! good point
@graffbx hip hop was created by blacks and almost all black people listen to it and believe it and follow the lead there entertainer role model tells them is cool exspecially musicians even athletes follow the lead on whats cool from musicians and what the message the cool people been telling us is destructive and needs to change.
@killbbob well im from the bronx n its blacks spanish and asians everywhere n they all listen to hip hop/rap it shouldnt matter who made it it was something created for expression and that means its for everyone..my point was,if they were gunna talk about black awareness they should have named the documentary something much more fitting...hip hop is far beyond blacks, its in countries that dont even speak english..u cant talk about hip hop and only talk about one race or one state of mind
@graffbx the message of main stream rap is poison to all races.and to a people that has had everything stolen from them encluding their history you cant expect black people to not call it theirs regardless of who adopted it.i just feel the message needs to change and and the truth needs to be told they dont need to keep it real just be true.i respect and understand your statements try and do the same with mine.
I am bothered about how these men are grabbing, touching on these women and not to mention filming underneath the shorts or skirts. No man has no right to touch these women like that. They need to learn self control.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
@iltns22 it also will help if the women don't dress like whores and sluts, don't you think if someone want's respect, they'd carry themselves that way? my lawyer doesn't sag his pants....
I agree and good point on the lawyer comment. It is true that if you want respect you have to command it. Part of that respect is self control and those men didn't show it with these ladies. They no right to do that to those women.
you can only objectify yourself and affect others as you do so... these women with the bras and panties on outside are to blame... dave chappelle- "just because i am dressed this way, does not make me a whore" lol "well you are wearing a whores uniform"
In Part 2 Fat Joe ended his interview with I don't know. Jadakiss mumbled it in his interview. They don't know why they do and say what they do yet influence others to do it with them. This is the state of all hollywood. And ppl talk about sell outs. Who you gonna sell out. nobody even knows or thinks about where they are going. And they still think that they will get there.
A Man can cheat on his girlfriend 1thousand times, with her mother or sister, or even her brother. What can you say? That he is wrong? Not according to law. But on that same note stealing milk from a corner store to feed your child will get you thrown in jail. What is the Global solution?
key word stealing milk.. how do you think a dear feels about a wolf. "it aint fare, they got big teeth and are faster than us" OH WELL equality brings imbalance nature knows that and if we mess that up, there will be hell to pay, quite literally
to treat sum1 as an equal doesn't mean to treat them the same. All ppl are not the same. Checks and balances. But the first step is to determine what is right and what is wrong.
We are all gonna die. Some ppl just wanna have as much fun as they can. How is it possible to tell them they don't have that right? If killing rape lieing stealing makes you happy then you don't get to be happy? Ppl will say yeah you don't. But what happens when they ask why?
@robeau23 everyone has the right to happiness not at the cost of someone elses. What if getting raped don't make you happy then those people don't get happiness.
That's my point. Happiness doesn't happen in this life. Not total happiness anyway. Because no matter how much stuff you get or do at the end of the day you still gonna die. You and every one you love are going to die one day. It could be 2day. If you live long enough you will eventually need a diaper again. Bet that will be fun. My point is you need to know why you were created and fulfill your purpose. It's the only way to eternal happiness. We do have a purpose. And it is quite obvious.
I like some of all kinds of music, but I've learned that African-Americans started the Delta Blues in the poor segregated South a hundred years ago or so from traditional African Slave roots. I like old stuff like Skip James, Robert Johnson, and later BB King, Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, etc. The notes burn deep into one's soul. They influenced many later musicians all over the world. I say the glamour, greed, violence, sex and excess of Hip-Hop is bad for us. We should learn from the past.
It's funny how the one 18 year old, distinguishing between sisters and bitches reminded me of a white person saying there's a difference between black folk and niggers.
I think for the most part, it is "black folk" that distinguish between black folk and "niggers". For the most part, at least historically - all black folk have been viewed upon as niggers to Whites.
@kruger97 Maybe, I've also seen young white dudes my age draw some kind of distinction between "black people" and "niggers." If this is your view, keep thinking about the subject, because you still don't get it yet.
... that's an old belief. Chris Rock was not original in saying that. I think the earliest that was said on TV was in the TV show East Side/West Side (1963) where the father of a white family was talking about the differences between "gentlemanly" black folks and niggers.
You could ask any old black person that used to play music for parties for white folks. It's not a black thing.
At the end of the documentary they discuss how the idea of manhood should be re-evaluated but we also need to re-evaluate womanhood. We don't need this external validation
Works of Philanthropy isn't sincerity! Secret societies (along with the Elite) make pacts to mock poor people in need. Their "charities" are not done in genuine concern. People need to check out these so-called "Philanthropists" as Oprah, Russell Simmons & Bill Gates as well as these other mediocre celebrities. I know someone personally who had their entrepreneurship idea suddenly robbed by Russell S. Where is the heart in that? Nelly's disrespectful ways should be a wake up call.
JazzyK3000....I don't pass it up at all that he possibly done you wrong. I can't wait for these sinister demons to be officially exposed out in general public for their snake eye tactics! YOU guys enlighten many of us in your behind the music industry etc. stories. Whenever I see a well informative documentary for sure everyone I know will hear of it if not see it. The millions of dollars they make, 9 times out of 10 they done ripped it off from some poor hungry struggling soul. I ain't fair
Jadakiss sounds like a damned moron! His piece should have been edited out of this video. Busta, though a fool, at least answers the questions without sounding completely caught off guard.

Cinn0man 1 year ago 3
america is sex driven and violence driven, so u cant just blame hip hop. mainstream hip hop just goes by what is around it. u gotta lokk at every thing in the world b4 u blame hip hop.

this film is great and all but i don't like the fact of them focusing on blacks so much..i thought it was called Hip Hop: Beyond Beats & Rhymes not BLACK STATE OF MIND

@graffbx true say! never thought about it like that ...people like eminen, cypress hill, bubba sparx ...they all displayed male bravado too! good point
LoveBuzz3 1 year ago
@graffbx hip hop was created by blacks and almost all black people listen to it and believe it and follow the lead there entertainer role model tells them is cool exspecially musicians even athletes follow the lead on whats cool from musicians and what the message the cool people been telling us is destructive and needs to change.
killbbob 1 year ago
@killbbob well im from the bronx n its blacks spanish and asians everywhere n they all listen to hip hop/rap it shouldnt matter who made it it was something created for expression and that means its for everyone..my point was,if they were gunna talk about black awareness they should have named the documentary something much more fitting...hip hop is far beyond blacks, its in countries that dont even speak english..u cant talk about hip hop and only talk about one race or one state of mind
graffbx 1 year ago
@graffbx the message of main stream rap is poison to all races.and to a people that has had everything stolen from them encluding their history you cant expect black people to not call it theirs regardless of who adopted it.i just feel the message needs to change and and the truth needs to be told they dont need to keep it real just be true.i respect and understand your statements try and do the same with mine.

I am bothered about how these men are grabbing, touching on these women and not to mention filming underneath the shorts or skirts. No man has no right to touch these women like that. They need to learn self control.

@iltns22 it also will help if the women don't dress like whores and sluts, don't you think if someone want's respect, they'd carry themselves that way? my lawyer doesn't sag his pants....
getmoneystayreal 2 years ago
I agree and good point on the lawyer comment. It is true that if you want respect you have to command it. Part of that respect is self control and those men didn't show it with these ladies. They no right to do that to those women.

What is the Global solution?
robeau23 2 years ago
key word stealing milk.. how do you think a dear feels about a wolf. "it aint fare, they got big teeth and are faster than us" OH WELL equality brings imbalance nature knows that and if we mess that up, there will be hell to pay, quite literally
onofomi 2 years ago
to treat sum1 as an equal doesn't mean to treat them the same. All ppl are not the same. Checks and balances. But the first step is to determine what is right and what is wrong.
robeau23 2 years ago
We are all gonna die. Some ppl just wanna have as much fun as they can. How is it possible to tell them they don't have that right? If killing rape lieing stealing makes you happy then you don't get to be happy? Ppl will say yeah you don't. But what happens when they ask why?
robeau23 2 years ago
@robeau23 everyone has the right to happiness not at the cost of someone elses. What if getting raped don't make you happy then those people don't get happiness.
XaldinX 2 years ago
That's my point. Happiness doesn't happen in this life. Not total happiness anyway. Because no matter how much stuff you get or do at the end of the day you still gonna die. You and every one you love are going to die one day. It could be 2day. If you live long enough you will eventually need a diaper again. Bet that will be fun. My point is you need to know why you were created and fulfill your purpose. It's the only way to eternal happiness. We do have a purpose. And it is quite obvious.

why do women dont say the same about porn????

I like some of all kinds of music, but I've learned that African-Americans started the Delta Blues in the poor segregated South a hundred years ago or so from traditional African Slave roots. I like old stuff like Skip James, Robert Johnson, and later BB King, Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, etc. The notes burn deep into one's soul. They influenced many later musicians all over the world. I say the glamour, greed, violence, sex and excess of Hip-Hop is bad for us. We should learn from the past.

The MAIN problem is that people can't think for themselves.

It's funny how the one 18 year old, distinguishing between sisters and bitches reminded me of a white person saying there's a difference between black folk and niggers.
lavinder11 2 years ago 23
I think for the most part, it is "black folk" that distinguish between black folk and "niggers". For the most part, at least historically - all black folk have been viewed upon as niggers to Whites.
kruger97 2 years ago 14
Not so in at least Columbia, Goose Creek and Charleston, SC. Even some of my Asian friends have had that mentality at some point.
lavinder11 2 years ago
@kruger97 Maybe, I've also seen young white dudes my age draw some kind of distinction between "black people" and "niggers." If this is your view, keep thinking about the subject, because you still don't get it yet.
o0Mav0o 9 months ago
"reminded me of a white person saying there's a difference between black folk and niggers."
---->actually it's Chris Rock who said that originally
Jugglable 2 years ago
... that's an old belief. Chris Rock was not original in saying that. I think the earliest that was said on TV was in the TV show East Side/West Side (1963) where the father of a white family was talking about the differences between "gentlemanly" black folks and niggers.
You could ask any old black person that used to play music for parties for white folks. It's not a black thing.
lavinder11 2 years ago
Ah, I stand corrected.
Jugglable 2 years ago
@lavinder11 really there is a difference between Black people and Niggers thats a belief that a lot of Black People have

@lavinder11 I get your point man, but remember this, Hip Hop exist because of a white man: Abraham Lincoln.
