I went hog huntin on the Savannah river in South Carolina...it was the most beautiful place I ever saw. Im from New Jersey, but I have a hunting cabin in PA and my family is from WV. I have Seminole in me and when it says "I listened close and I heard the ghost of Oceola cry" I get goosebumps and a chill runs down my spine I can sing the whole song it is just a great song showing my Native American herritage and I still hunt and fish and I use the animals I take in North Florida just as my ancestors would have in the Glades

I am 13 years old and I just love to hear this song because I am a country boy and it's so great to see that the Seminole way of life is being continued. I have Seminole in me and when it says "I listened close and I heard the ghost of Oceola cry" I get goosebumps and a chill runs down my spine I can sing the whole song it is just a great song showing my Native American herritage and I still hunt and fish and I use the animals I take in North Florida just as my ancestors would have in the Glades

I'm 21, and not a lot of people my age truly appreciate their heritage. I have a pretty good amount of Cherokee Indian in my blood still, and I absolutely LOVE it. I love my Native American side, and embrace as much of it as I can. :)

So, we are split up between Our original home in Florida and the Seminole Nation in Oklahoma.

You seem to miss the point. First the Cherokee nation was actually one of the largest because it would absorb other smaller tribes. Second according the government you only need to be 1/8th Native American to be considered legally for benefits. And 3rd my great grandfather was irish does that mean i am not Irish? Loved this song when it came out. It's kind of personal for me because my Aunts and Uncles grew up with Bobby Henry (the first Seminole man close up in the video). Such an honest song about Florida and the Everglades. They are protected till someone with enough money wants to build something.
