@esmereldatitswallop I haven't heard any other versions of this song. However, there were two other songs named "Tommy" out around the same time. One by Connie Francis and one by Angie and the Chicklettes, each one a different song.

@TheLimePopsicle Back in 1966, my mom gave me a recording of "Tommy". I remember it was a female group and the label was yellow. The record came inside a bag of potato chips. My sister deliberately broke it in 1967 because our mom gave it to me and since we were living with my dad and STEPMOM, anything connected to our mom was "evil".

Today, I am the only one of three kids who still has contact with our mom. My brother and sister have grown up bitter and disowned the entire family. Sad.

One of the absolute best of the 60s girls groups. They should have attained more stardom. But we can still treasure their sweet contributions. Thanks for posting this.

This was their second biggest hit in the US. The biggest was "Whenever A Teenager Cries". "Captain Of Your Ship" was their biggest hit in the UK. You can call me Tom, lol.
