I agree this a way better cover than some I've seen. At least they are playing the song (see the REAL LIFE guitars?).

it's not really the accent that makes it lose its funny, it's the enunciation? i mean with jemaine there is a distinct lisp on some of his words which makes it hilarious and no one is going to have the timing of fotc

Actually I think this is a great cover- one of the best FOTC covers I've seen. From the difficulty most people have covering this kind of stuff I think the order is: first learn how to cover this stuff well- which is hard, but you guys have done a good job- then only later apply that to creating your own stuff. Best way is to learn from the masters right? Well done.

As if you've ever come up with your own joke, every day, for the past 120 days a year... 2hrs worth for a full on, one man show... c'mon, we've all copied our heroes, our inspirations... regaled at the telling of a manly joke in the locker rooms...

wait a minute.. I remember when i was in high school, you cant do covers in talent shows you gotta come up with ur own stuff..

On a SIDE note..its never funny ripping off comedy skits, the audience apparently find it funny because they have never heard of Flight of the Conchords so it seems fresh and new to them..just Stop doing covers of FOTC.

ahaha, this was pretty similar to the original. I'm impressed. I think you guys should have changed it up a bit, though. Made it your own.

i agree with some of the people here, who say that you rushed through it. a lot of the humour in the original comes from the awkward silences. try to think about that for the next time, if you guys ever perform it again.

That's sick, I love you see something that inspires you to pay tribute to it. And the folk parody style that The Conchords came up with is a great thing for 2 people to perform.
