You are what you eat, healthy body equals healthy hair. Yogurt and carrots are great for hair growth. It all comes down to healthy eating and exercise.
I have no idea how her hair is today and if anything has worked so far. But i do have a tip for you, garlic helps the hair grow...i now it sounds stupid but try it. Just take a piece of garlic and rub on the bald spots. don't forget to eat healthy and another thing thats good for the hair is to have a hot oil treatment once in a while.
OMG....that is so weird because me and my family hair is the same way but it's just on the left side, ours runs in the family!!!! we have tried everything in the book but nothing seems to work...
I'll tell you what else works eat green apples the skin of the apple has 300% hair growth.. taking DNC Spectural hair growth drops has 7 ingredients and the 8the our famous med, Minoxidil 5% and there is a shampoo dnc revital. has emu oil in it biotin and several other ingredients. taking MSM is the biggest important part peole miss out in their supplement. biotin need not 5mg, it needs 2300mg thats a lot but u need to get your hair grow going soon, and massage the scalp for blood flow
Also, I wouldn't recommend doing braids for hair that's so thin. It's probably best to just wash and go. Other tips: don't sleep with wet hair (it causes split ends), don't sleep with a ponytail (causes breakage), always sleep with a satin scarf or pillow (to reduce breakage), drink plenty of water, wash and deep condition weekly. And don't bother with any miracle pills. Just take a daily multivitamin that contains biotin (vitamin H), which is very good for hair and nails. Good luck!! :)
i am in beauty school and a girl that i go to class withm, her mom's hair fell out because of meds and she took biotin and it really worked wonders! it grew really quick she went to a pharmacy/healthfood store to get it
Grease is HORRIBLE for the hair because it contains petrolatum, which clogs the pores and makes it difficult for the hair follicles to breathe. I'm also wary of mega growth products. However, the tea tree oil is good. Also try pure 100% African Shea butter and vegetable glycerin. That's all you really need. Most of these other products you find at Sally's are owned by white people who either don't care or don't know what's good for our hair. Peace.
Be careful of products targeted towards black women. Hint:The products are often spelled wrong, "Nu Gro", for example. Also try looking at product ingredients. There are things that African American women especially (and just people in general) should NEVER put in their hair. 1) ISOPROPYL ALCOHOL 2)MINERAL OIL/PETROLATUM 3)Petrolatum 4)PEG 5)PROPYLENE GLYCOL (PG): 6) SODIUM LAURYL SUFATE & SODIUM LAURETH SULFATE 7)CHLORINE 8)DEA, MEA ,AND TEA 9)FD & C Color PIGMENTS 10)FRAGRNCE
you have to STOP braiding hair like for quite some time.
like put the hair in a pony tail, or on big braid but do it loose.
and shampoo it and use vitimans. also use ALO PLANTS rub it where it's balding that'll help. use cocoa butter and tea tree oil as well. and just use any "Black hair." solution to HEALTHIER HAIR. vitiii. E. and just try that for a few months. you'll see some results. i promise you that.
Tell her to stop putting braids in her hair and braiding her hair too tight! Too many black females especially older ones abuse their hair or had their hair braided tight when they were young and hairline balding is the result. Your sister or friend is young but when she reaches 40 years old she may become bald. Black women, if your hair is thin, and you don't have a thick hairline, don't bother putting braids in and use mild perm! I never had that problem but my thin haired friends did!
You know what would be good, biotin and prenatal pills. ( I know that for the summer she is wearing a wig, right) Biotin is good for nails, skin, and hair, and it helps thicken the hair. The frolic acids in prenatal pills and b12/b6 and other enhancers help stimulate hair growth as well. (You can also use these for you if you would like) and when she washes her hair, she should use some all natural products that you can make at home so harsh chemicals don't chew and dry out her hair.
I pray her hair continues to grow...do you think that the braids cause too much strain on her hair??? Have you considered wigs w/ your pills and regimine?
She should try an ebay seller I get my wigs from called professionalonly. They have the best wigs and the hair on them is sooo soft and most of all they are cheap. This was the first time I bought a wig online and they look just like they do in the picture. The first time I bought one I walked into work and everybody was like whoohoo look who go her hair done. LOL!!! Looked like I got a relaxer!! But I don't. I did the big chop and cut all my hair off. My hair short and natural now.
Your very welcome!! I just bought a wig for my mom and she wore it to work, everybody thought she looked cute. She works in a nursing home and one of the residents said to her "you look different". Now I"m getting wigs for her and another nursing assistant at her job!! lol

The same thing happened to me. I'm not sure what caused my hair loss, Was it the ponytails? The glued in weaves? The perms? Maybe all three. Anyway, I had a quarter sized bald spot in the middle of my head & noticed my hair was shedding badly all over. My hair was still thick enough so it wasn't noticeable to other people. Still, I went to a dermatogist once a month for injections. In my case, they didn't work. They just left a deep dent in my scalp. I stopped going & started wearing wigs ....
Hey Jacenta, this is Jacenta from school. I just so happen to come across this video cause I saw my name then I saw you and I was like oh okay that Jacenta from school. Girl I am going to start posting videos too. I'lm going to subscribe to your videos. See ya on youtube and myspace. I no longer go to school. I am going to choose another school closer to my house. Online is killin me guess I need a real classroom.
wow best of luck. I see you were taking products from your dermatologist please continue to take them and give it time. Sulfur products like MTG/Sulu Max, Mega Tek, Bee Mine Growth Serum, Claudies Elixer I know they speed up growth but if you have alopecia none of those products may make a difference.
I had this in my early to mid 20's and they say that this type of Alopecia happens in most teen or young adult women.
I would recommend just going natural. I just wathced a few you tube videos and it looks like Apple cider vinegar works well has a hair rinse and is natural.
I have tha alopecia, so this video (if you continue watching, the girl grows the hair back like it has been normal) really inspire me. P.S. I did go natural and that didn't do anything to help my alopecia, however, I do plan on using coconut oil and apple cider almost exclusively in the future.
i had a problem with alopecia. I honestly don't know where it came from. I think it was from nerves. I took steroid shots and used creams from a dermatologist. Going natural does help because the relaxers thin the hair. That is what makes it straight. It's just going to be a very looong process before your hair grows back properly.
I said the same thing in one of my post as well. People disagree with the whole going natural thing but I had alopecia as I stated above it comes from a lot of things, tension on the hair, relaxers ect. and when you have alopecia going with out the chemicals maybe the best option for you. I also recommend professional chemical application or really studying how to apply relaxers many ppl leave it on the hairline the longest which is the weakest part of the hair.
Choline Inositol (both are members of the vitamin B family) encourages hair growth and can help prevent baldness.
Do not take with NSID's or during Chemotherapy. Do NOT take more than the recominded dose and always check with your MD before taking any vitamin or herbal remedies.
hair grease actually clogs your hair pores you would not put it on your face so why put it on your scalp hair wont grow properly if your pores are clogged
I had an issue with alopecia and I had to leave the braids, ponytails ect. alone. Anything that puts traction on the hair. You may want to go to a dermatologist for steroid shots that's what I had to do
I understand and I in no way implied that simply not perming was going to resolve the issue. I was taking steroid injections and I decide to stop relaxing to see if it made a difference and for me it did. You may have to see a dermat. or try otc hair prod. to get the hair to grow back. It is a very slow process & everyone is different. It took me well over 2 yrs. for mine to start growing again and it is still not fully filled in yet. Biotin or Phyto Specific hair vitamins may help. God Bless
Thanks. Well, I saw a natural dermo. and he gave me some products called DECCA. They made my hair very soft, however, my temples are not growing back yet. I've been using the products for a few months now. I stopped using them regularly after a month or two after seeing no results. Then I went to see a famous Dermo (her name is Dr. Susan Taylor) and she started talking about all these surgeries and stuff. I'm like "hell no"
I've read on the Decca hairproducts. They have good reviews. I can tell you from personal experience that it is going to take you longer than 2 months to know if the hair is going to grow back. Decca is expensive. I would continue using it along with Sulu Max. I think your hair can grow back with a little time and patience. It's a very sloooooooow process. And you will have to keep tension off your edges when they start to grow back. God Bless
Grease is NOT GOOD for hair, it clogs your pores, your hair sucks up or drinks the oils. The other oils you can get from wal-mart, local health food store or the Vitamin Shoppe. I hope it will work and where protective styles, like front lace wigs, buns, no tight braids and glued weaves. Also everyday seal your ends with a moisture and a couple of drops of the oils. Try it for 3 months and let me know, I am trying to grow my hair long getting my front lace wig very soon.
I have been doing that for a while. All the things you said is good, but the thing that REALLY started making my hair grow was changing the way I used relaxer... that just totally changed my hair-life!
my hair used to be exactly like that, do to some perm a beautician left in my head. i never used that though i head it's good. i just kept my hair conditioned, trimmed and braided, and my hair is a totally different texture now.
I'm so sorry to see your sister's edges like that.. yes, she is NOT alone with it. I'm glad you're helping her out as much as you are. Please consider no braids, or other tension on her hair & no relaxers either. Or do the braids in such a way where they kinda wrap around & cover the front alot, but no pulling or tension anywhere near her trouble spots. Always sleep w/satin bonnet ok. Good luck... we're wishing for the best for her.
i use the product call profectiv growth renew on my temples and etc and it did a wonderful job. all my temple and etc has thicken and got fuller try it it might work for her it did wonders for me :)
good 4 u girl..and good luck with the hair growth...I know the balding prob can make ur self esteem drop...cuz listen..I used to glue my hair 4 yrs ago...started off wit just pieces for extra volume..now 2008. I cant even use half a pack anymore cuz I dont have enough hair..I started getting headaches and now I barely have enough hair to cover tracks..I just hope my hair can grow back as right now Im wearing a half wig...what vitamins is she taking..did she see a doc? (Im embarassed to see 1
i've been down that road myself!!i had gotten sooooo used to tracks that i forgotten all about my own hair!!.i had bald spots everywhere!!but in time it all grew back.i had to wear a wig for about a year.my grandmother help me to get it back right.i know this going to sound really disgusting but
it works.the shampoo you use fill a cup with it.here we go........use a teaspoon of your urine in it.urine has a acid like formula that
kills anything that stops hair growth.but also check youtube
Funny???? I'm not laughing at you, I was laughing at mizzqueena saying you should wash your hair with urine. If you don't want to take my advice don't...no one has a gun to your head.
She's right don't be embarassed to see one. Dermatologist see this kind of problem ALL the time. You never know, they may be able to help you. They have cortisone shots, which are not painful. You can also try washing your scalp with dove SOAP, not shampoo, its all natural and it helped my scalp alot.
I would mix the oil with egg protien and wrap it at night (This works really well on natural hair), My hair grew 3inches in 1 month. I have coarse nappy tight hair. it went from that to becoming permantly soft like baby hair.
Grease if fine for the hair, because it acts as a sealer and holds moisture in,BUT DO NOT PUT IT ON YOUR SCALP.
Emu oil is 15$ dollars a bottle and vitamin world for a 6oz bottle.
I used to relax my hair every 2 weeks, and to make a long story short my hair fell out. As I began to go natural I used texurizer lotion and olive oil mosturizer, as my hair began to grow longer I started using emu oil which is VERY VERY close to the oils that your body makes for your hair.
what yall need to do is get her some virgin fertilizer( i believe its for cancer patients) and mix it with the pine tar grease and make her drink the ultra hair shake made by natures plus. also let her take prenatal pills they will be good for her because its a multi vitamin for women. Last but not least stop gluing the weaves. that bond remover is horrible . They sell a full weave set thats comes with a closure and the rest is on a net get it and that will help your sister out.
Hi, just some information for you. I think it's great that you are trying to help your sister's hair grow, but the grease which has mineral oil and petroleum are the worse things you can use for hair growth. The products(blue magic) that you are using will not help. Try to find natural hair oils(olive oil, sage oil, coconut oil or a hair growth oil with a combination of oils. Just some tips I hope it helps
blue magic is NOT the biz...that messes up your hair and clogs pores...and the braids in her hair is a NO NO!!!...i hope everything works out for her...
yeah thats what i was thinkin, shes sittin there with a toothbrush in her hand and im thinkin (try taking the braids out her head).. and i thought we have come a long way since blue magic, all i like about it is the way it smells.
OMG! Come one now, Stop with the braids and ESPECIALLY that Blue Magic Grease PLEASE. Her hair line will CONTINUE to receed if yall keep putting those braids in her hair. And the GREASE does nothing but clog her pores and restrict growth. You guys are doing all the wrong things. If you want that child's hair to grow please join Longhaircareforum or BHM ASAP.
Yeah... join LHCF or BHM or something! Braids put so much tension on the scalp and can really damage the edges... And the added weight of the extensions don't help either!
WOW!!!! I remember yall from the other videos and women kept telling you what you are doing to her hair will cause her hair to break off even more.
Your response was cursing and saying nonsense. Well I guess you know who was right. Poor girl: you done jacked her hair up more: WAY more than from the weave video.
wow, i'm glad i read your comment! I had my hair braided by somoene who didn't have experience and jacked my hair (it's fine and curly). Now I go to my cousin who is very good and my hair and grown about 5 inches. This video should be a warning of what NOT to do!
i would suggest the Nixon system it works wonders! The pills then the follicle stimulator you will see results within a week, you can purchase online or at a upscale salon.
Wait but you should use like the most 2 things at a time because then you wont know which is working use the tea tree oil and the glover's mane definitely and take your vitamins.
I've watched your other videos and her hair is growing. I didn't catch it but how did she start losing her hair? I did see that you said that she went to the doctor. Was it alopecia? Keep helping her out! Good job.
U can also try MTG I just got some like 2weeks ago and it has my hair growing, I can see progress!! She would be able to grow up to 3 inches in one month!! Alot of ppl try to bash the product because they sell it for horses, but it was made for humans by a barber!! They also made another product for humans called Sulu Max Gro and I have been using that as well! U could go to my page and check out the video that I made talking about MTG!!
yes, I've been following the progress of her hair and trying to learn how to do weaves and stuff, and i have to agree with ledra, you should get some MTG. I've seen progress. But you're using glover's mane too, huh...so you should still see some progress. Keep up the good work.
wow, its growing good....good job!!! im gonna get some of those pills just to make my hair longer and order some of that mega grow cream since they dont sell it over here in japan
It seems to me that the problem is braids. They pull ur edges out and in my opinion damage the hair. try using wigs.

I don't know.
Jacenta1 2 years ago
The same thing happened to me. I'm not sure what caused my hair loss, Was it the ponytails? The glued in weaves? The perms? Maybe all three. Anyway, I had a quarter sized bald spot in the middle of my head & noticed my hair was shedding badly all over. My hair was still thick enough so it wasn't noticeable to other people. Still, I went to a dermatogist once a month for injections. In my case, they didn't work. They just left a deep dent in my scalp. I stopped going & started wearing wigs ....

gd luck girly girl
naturalgirlygirl 2 years ago
wow best of luck. I see you were taking products from your dermatologist please continue to take them and give it time. Sulfur products like MTG/Sulu Max, Mega Tek, Bee Mine Growth Serum, Claudies Elixer I know they speed up growth but if you have alopecia none of those products may make a difference.
Best of luck to you.

Blue magic grease is too thick, it weighs on the weak hair, thats how mines was until I stopped using the heavy grease.
whydubu 3 years ago
I had this in my early to mid 20's and they say that this type of Alopecia happens in most teen or young adult women.
I would recommend just going natural. I just wathced a few you tube videos and it looks like Apple cider vinegar works well has a hair rinse and is natural.
essentialsbychana 3 years ago
I have tha alopecia, so this video (if you continue watching, the girl grows the hair back like it has been normal) really inspire me. P.S. I did go natural and that didn't do anything to help my alopecia, however, I do plan on using coconut oil and apple cider almost exclusively in the future.
quitejaded 3 years ago
I wish you luck
Jacenta1 3 years ago
i had a problem with alopecia. I honestly don't know where it came from. I think it was from nerves. I took steroid shots and used creams from a dermatologist. Going natural does help because the relaxers thin the hair. That is what makes it straight. It's just going to be a very looong process before your hair grows back properly.
NaturalBeauty0708 3 years ago
I said the same thing in one of my post as well. People disagree with the whole going natural thing but I had alopecia as I stated above it comes from a lot of things, tension on the hair, relaxers ect. and when you have alopecia going with out the chemicals maybe the best option for you. I also recommend professional chemical application or really studying how to apply relaxers many ppl leave it on the hairline the longest which is the weakest part of the hair.
NaturalBeauty0708 2 years ago
what would really help her grow is stop using relaxers and let your hair breathe!
CHAKAKHANISMYHERO 3 years ago
Choline Inositol (both are members of the vitamin B family) encourages hair growth and can help prevent baldness.
Do not take with NSID's or during Chemotherapy. Do NOT take more than the recominded dose and always check with your MD before taking any vitamin or herbal remedies.
makezmuzic 3 years ago
hair grease actually clogs your hair pores you would not put it on your face so why put it on your scalp hair wont grow properly if your pores are clogged

JustAThoUghtxxx 3 years ago
I had an issue with alopecia and I had to leave the braids, ponytails ect. alone. Anything that puts traction on the hair. You may want to go to a dermatologist for steroid shots that's what I had to do
NaturalBeauty0708 3 years ago
Well, I have not been perming my temples for at least 2 years now and ain't nothin' changed. So...
quitejaded 2 years ago
I understand and I in no way implied that simply not perming was going to resolve the issue. I was taking steroid injections and I decide to stop relaxing to see if it made a difference and for me it did. You may have to see a dermat. or try otc hair prod. to get the hair to grow back. It is a very slow process & everyone is different. It took me well over 2 yrs. for mine to start growing again and it is still not fully filled in yet. Biotin or Phyto Specific hair vitamins may help. God Bless
NaturalBeauty0708 2 years ago
I'm like "hell no"
quitejaded 2 years ago
I've read on the Decca hairproducts. They have good reviews. I can tell you from personal experience that it is going to take you longer than 2 months to know if the hair is going to grow back. Decca is expensive. I would continue using it along with Sulu Max. I think your hair can grow back with a little time and patience. It's a very sloooooooow process. And you will have to keep tension off your edges when they start to grow back. God Bless
NaturalBeauty0708 2 years ago
Grease is NOT GOOD for hair, it clogs your pores, your hair sucks up or drinks the oils. The other oils you can get from wal-mart, local health food store or the Vitamin Shoppe. I hope it will work and where protective styles, like front lace wigs, buns, no tight braids and glued weaves. Also everyday seal your ends with a moisture and a couple of drops of the oils. Try it for 3 months and let me know, I am trying to grow my hair long getting my front lace wig very soon.
misshoney26 2 years ago
I have been doing that for a while. All the things you said is good, but the thing that REALLY started making my hair grow was changing the way I used relaxer... that just totally changed my hair-life!

my hair used to be exactly like that, do to some perm a beautician left in my head. i never used that though i head it's good. i just kept my hair conditioned, trimmed and braided, and my hair is a totally different texture now.

Sweetheart, if you can, please get rid of the sponge rollers because that will just pop her hair off really bad.
Godschild002 3 years ago
I'm so sorry to see your sister's edges like that.. yes, she is NOT alone with it. I'm glad you're helping her out as much as you are. Please consider no braids, or other tension on her hair & no relaxers either. Or do the braids in such a way where they kinda wrap around & cover the front alot, but no pulling or tension anywhere near her trouble spots. Always sleep w/satin bonnet ok. Good luck... we're wishing for the best for her.

good 4 u girl..and good luck with the hair growth...I know the balding prob can make ur self esteem drop...cuz listen..I used to glue my hair 4 yrs ago...started off wit just pieces for extra volume..now 2008. I cant even use half a pack anymore cuz I dont have enough hair..I started getting headaches and now I barely have enough hair to cover tracks..I just hope my hair can grow back as right now Im wearing a half wig...what vitamins is she taking..did she see a doc? (Im embarassed to see 1
caramixedshawdie 3 years ago
Yeah she went to the doctor but it was no help, dont be embarassed millions of people have problems with their hair. I Wish u luck.
Jacenta1 3 years ago
i've been down that road myself!!i had gotten sooooo used to tracks that i forgotten all about my own hair!!.i had bald spots everywhere!!but in time it all grew back.i had to wear a wig for about a year.my grandmother help me to get it back right.i know this going to sound really disgusting but
it works.the shampoo you use fill a cup with it.here we go........use a teaspoon of your urine in it.urine has a acid like formula that
kills anything that stops hair growth.but also check youtube
mizzqueena 3 years ago
lol. try vinegar...its very acidic.
freshy401 2 years ago
Why whould I take the advice from somone who thinks it funny.
Jacenta1 2 years ago
Funny???? I'm not laughing at you, I was laughing at mizzqueena saying you should wash your hair with urine. If you don't want to take my advice don't...no one has a gun to your head.
freshy401 2 years ago
She's right don't be embarassed to see one. Dermatologist see this kind of problem ALL the time. You never know, they may be able to help you. They have cortisone shots, which are not painful. You can also try washing your scalp with dove SOAP, not shampoo, its all natural and it helped my scalp alot.
freshy401 2 years ago
Thanks but the dermatologist did not help
Jacenta1 2 years ago
I would mix the oil with egg protien and wrap it at night (This works really well on natural hair), My hair grew 3inches in 1 month. I have coarse nappy tight hair. it went from that to becoming permantly soft like baby hair.
Grease if fine for the hair, because it acts as a sealer and holds moisture in,BUT DO NOT PUT IT ON YOUR SCALP.
Emu oil is 15$ dollars a bottle and vitamin world for a 6oz bottle.
adesa1 3 years ago
I used to relax my hair every 2 weeks, and to make a long story short my hair fell out. As I began to go natural I used texurizer lotion and olive oil mosturizer, as my hair began to grow longer I started using emu oil which is VERY VERY close to the oils that your body makes for your hair.

stop braiding your hair, no more weaves, go natural for some time and focus on serious protein deep conditioning. try the aphogee hair care line
ncobbold 3 years ago 10
what yall need to do is get her some virgin fertilizer( i believe its for cancer patients) and mix it with the pine tar grease and make her drink the ultra hair shake made by natures plus. also let her take prenatal pills they will be good for her because its a multi vitamin for women. Last but not least stop gluing the weaves. that bond remover is horrible . They sell a full weave set thats comes with a closure and the rest is on a net get it and that will help your sister out.
lanitila 3 years ago
She looks so sad, I wish her well and I hope her hair comes back soon = (
I really want my hair to get longer, it's been the same length my whole life, and I am tired of it...
xpiratesforeverx 3 years ago 2
Hi, just some information for you. I think it's great that you are trying to help your sister's hair grow, but the grease which has mineral oil and petroleum are the worse things you can use for hair growth. The products(blue magic) that you are using will not help. Try to find natural hair oils(olive oil, sage oil, coconut oil or a hair growth oil with a combination of oils. Just some tips I hope it helps
suzziqq 3 years ago 5
blue magic is NOT the biz...that messes up your hair and clogs pores...and the braids in her hair is a NO NO!!!...i hope everything works out for her...
MissMysticalMist 3 years ago
yeah thats what i was thinkin, shes sittin there with a toothbrush in her hand and im thinkin (try taking the braids out her head).. and i thought we have come a long way since blue magic, all i like about it is the way it smells.

lol. that mega growth stuff doesn't make your hair grow. it keeps it from breaking off.
relaxers and tight braids is tearing that girl's scalp up.

YOURNICKED 3 years ago 5
If you want that child's hair to grow please join Longhaircareforum or BHM ASAP.
ayanharr 3 years ago 5
Yeah... join LHCF or BHM or something! Braids put so much tension on the scalp and can really damage the edges... And the added weight of the extensions don't help either!

true- a wig would be better until the edge grow back

Your response was cursing and saying nonsense. Well I guess you know who was right. Poor girl: you done jacked her hair up more: WAY more than from the weave video.
PLZ stay out her hair.

wow, i'm glad i read your comment! I had my hair braided by somoene who didn't have experience and jacked my hair (it's fine and curly). Now I go to my cousin who is very good and my hair and grown about 5 inches. This video should be a warning of what NOT to do!
