  • kamaaaaaaaal hai buddddddddddyyyy

  • @cricketlover1117,even RD had told in 1985 filmfare interview that Kishoreda is the best classical singer in India.KISHOREDA IS THE BEST IN ALL TYPES OF SONGS AND HE IS THE GOD.

  • i cannot say the word god..........but dude i like ur comment...he is uncomparable

  • Alka Yagniks voice is so beautiful that i could marry it. Sweet, sexy, versatile and solid. She can sing any type of song with such ease it is amazing. And she idolized both Kishore and Lata. To me that says it all !

  • wow alka is great!

  • alka is such a great singer..........

she has won 7 filmfare awards.....

    2 national awards...

only indian to be nominated for 2003 BBC World Music Awards.

shares the title with Asha Bhonsle for the most number of filmfare awards won (7) by a single female playback singer........

    love her

  • "ut he could not sing half of what rafi has sung"

Ya thats why the songs like "Tum bin jayoon kahan" sung by Kishore and Rafi...the Kishore version was more popular than Rafi's. Poor Soul :(

Classically more perfect Lata's Mere Naina was far less hit than Kishores and Classically pundit Mrs Sultana's Humein Tumse Pyar Kitna was less popular than Kishore version. Poor Soul :( Acc to u Kishore cannot sing all song but only can win awards and make popular songs right? LOL again Poooor Soul! :(

  • again.. popular..

you can ask anyone who knows music, and they would always prefer the one with classical modulations in it. and as for lataji's mere naina, rd burman said that he preferred that one.. so yea.

  • Yes songs are made for only person right? If that person says that song is better, so it is better and if crores say the opposite it does not matter right? What a logic!

  • its sad that two "professional" singers are struggling to sing a classically-based song. Kishoreda sang this song so easily, despite having no classical training! Lataji is just Lataji.

  • there is huge amount of difference between live singing and recording. btw both did well.

    they are great singers.........

  • they are good singers, but not good classical singers. kumar sanu and alka yagnik are the quintessential 90s singers. can only sing romantic songs, and easy romantic songs. anything traditional or classical, they fail. alka and sanu are great when they're not asked to sing something difficult, cuz they're such inferior singers that they cannot sing anything difficult.

  • both alka and sanu have sung difficult song also with good amount of perfection.

using words like fail or inferior for these great singers does not sounds good, unbiased & mature

  • they're not inferior, that was an incorrect term on my part. my bad.

but, they just can not sing classical, and that is a major failure as an indian singer.

  • alka has sung classical with sadhna sargam and that too with perfection. she has sung classical songs for Refugee, umrao jaan etc.

to be a successfull bollywood singer one need not be a perfect classical singer......

  • the song she sang w/ sadhna, was dominated by sadhna. of the two, sadhna is the better singer in terms of classical. umrao jaan and refugee songs, do not even count as classical. they were so simple! refugee was barely classical. umrao jaan was the simplest kind, and alka still failed miserably! the easiest song, pehle pehel, she had no control over her voice, it was quite frankly embarassing.

  • alka is much more successfull than both kavita and sadhna. I admire all of them for there respective qualities and competence.

  • well, alka is more outwardly successful. what i mean by that is that the masses love her. however, the music cogniscenti have always preferred kavita and sadhna and anuradha. its no coincidence that rahman and ismail darbar and r.d. burman and naushad and khayyam and o.p. nayyar and laxmikant pyarelal and hemant kumar and asha bhonsle and manna dey prefer kavita. its also no coincidence that kavita has been awarded the Padmashree by the indian government, while alka has not been.

  • lata ji loves alka........

she has once said that alka's voice is similar to her..........

  • mm yes, lataji likes alka quite a bit. and kavitaji. ashaji likes alka quite a bit. and kavitaji.

its tough to not like alka, she's a very good singer.

however, you can't fool lataji and ashaji. they know their classical music. so, in terms of overall vocal skill and perfection, its no stretch to say that they prefer kavitaji. because kavitaji is more like them, since she is proficient in classical.

  • tum kabhi normal words ka use nahi karte kya..... to reply my comments.......

  • and yes, alka's voice is very similar to lataji. however, voice is god-given, there's no skill there.

i personally prefer kavitaji's voice to alka's, but voice preference is subjective.

some say sunidhi has the best voice, others would say anuradha. though if i had to pick my 5 favorite voices, it would have to be lataji, ashaji, kavitaji, alka, and chitra/shreya.

  • alka ji ka naam tumahari list mein ...strange..

  • its not strange. i do like alka's voice. but in terms of skill, kavitaji comes out tops.

  • kavita, sadhna , anuradha were never in question.....

  • "voice is god-given, there's no skill there"

Similarly I can say classical singing talent is God given. So there is no skill there!! What a logic. What u think as bad becomes God given and so no skill and hence no credit and what u think as good is not god given and so credit goes to subject!! Who are we to decide what is God given and which is Satan given or self made?

  • classical singing is not god-given, you have to work for it. you must train. bhimsen joshi was not born w/ that, he trained.

  • asha bhonsle , OP Nayyar, Naushad etc follow same kind of music and singing style....

asha and kavita have similar voice and singing style....

while alka and lata have similar singing style and song preference.........

  • i would disagree with you abt alka and lataji. lataji has said herself that she prefers classical songs to other kinds. and, well, alka doesn't know how to sing classical, so they don't have similar song preferences..

  • and yes, one need not be a perfect classical singer to be a successful bollywood one. alka is very successful, yet she is quite imperfect in classical. however, to be considered a good singer, by those who actually know what indian music is, requires a sound base in classical. you should be able to sing it well. that is why alka is nothing compared to kavita. both can sing simple songs, both can sing western songs. but when it comes to complex or classical based songs, kavita blows alka away.

  • admiring is an art and especially when one needs to admire somebody without hurting or insulting the other.......

words like " blows away or miserably or embarassing" etc do not form part of natural and unbiased admiration.

  • no no, listen. i truly admire alka yagnik. she is a great singer, whom i enjoy listening to. however, facts are facts. alka is not vocally superior to either kavita or sadhna.

  • admiration needs to be always unbiased and natural.....

    which does not seems here

  • without much of classical base and training , alka has been able to achieve a very good place in the singing world......

it requires a lot of gut and confidence to build a place in such a competitive indusrty..

when alka started with movies like QSQT we had singers like asha and lata.......

she deserves a appreciation for the same... she has been given the title of India's Singing Sensation by various bollywood magazines....

  • she deserves appreciation, but not more than singers who are much more skilled and knowledgeable in the art of indian tradition than she.

and i wanted to add another name to that long list. pt.jasraj prefers kavita as well; in fact, he has sung a whole classical album with her. but it makes sense that he prefers her; he understands classical music, so he understands how much more skilled kavita is.

  • there has never been a question of how skilled is kavita..... than alka.....

both of them are best singers after lata and asha

  • kishore kumar admired alka for her confident singing style when she sang duet with him.........

AR rahman and ismail darbar preferred her for sweet songs of taal , kisna, Hum dil de chuke..

  • well, kishoreda and alka are quite similar. both are very popular singers amongst the public. and they're both not very well classically trained (kishoreda not at all).

  • ab tum kishore da ke peeche padd gaye.....

    sudhar jao........

  • it is not a mystery that kishoreda was not classically trained.

  • plss spare kishore.......

  • i'm not trying to say anything bad abt kishoreda. i'm just stating the facts. he was not classically trained. period.

and for that reason, rafi sahab was truly the greatest.

  • facts can be stated without sarcasm........

  • how am i being sarcastic... to be sarcastic is to say something, but mean the opposite.

  • "i'm just stating the facts. he was not classically trained. period."

And that is exactly the same reason Rafi was far behind Kishore because he simply cud not beat a singer with no training even though Rafi had thousands of trainings...! Poor Soul :(

  • hahahah are you for real?

Rafi was always miles better than kishore. kishore was great, no doubt, but he could not sing half of what rafi has sung. kishore has no training so he can't sing anything classical in the same way rafi or manna dey could. so kishore can not sing classical songs, meaning he's already an inferior singer to rafi. what can kishore do? yodel?

  • Ha ha ha. You are definitely not real man. Might be a bot. Anyway I will reply for sure even to an automatic bot!

    "what can kishore do? yodel?"

Kishore can win 8 filmfare awards, while Rafi and Manna Dey combined cannot win. Ha ha. U seem to be crazy man. God bless u.

And my question to u is: What can Rafi do with his thin lingering voice? Cry during romantic tunes to Yahooo!! Chahe koi mujhe junglee kahe LOL

  • rafi can sing madhuban mein radhika, duniya ke rakhwale, khilona; i'd love to hear kishore sing something close to that.

and filmfares are not a good measure of talent, you see trash songs chosen for awards all the time.

by the way, i'd prefer it if you used proper english while talking to me, i don't understand fob english sorry..

  • U and ur classical singing!Gosh!! Why are u judging playback singers based on classical singing?

Playback singing criteria is different...some of them are ...

    1. Voice depth

    2. Voice clarity

    3. Sur and Taal and perfect emotions (not complex sur and taal but good enough to convey the right emotions)

    4. Voice Modulation

    5. Base and strength of voice

6 Stability and equalness of voice at high and low pitches

    7. Melody in voice.

Summary: sweetness + melody + clarity + modulation as per actors...

  • i judge playback singers as singers. i do not think that playback singers should be less than actual singers. lataji, ashaji, kavitaji, rafi, manna dey, talat mehmood, suresh wadekar, etc.

these singers are supremely classically trained and could pass as classical singers, and have all 7 of your criteria. of course, we may disagree on which voice we prefer the most..

  • " that is why alka is nothing compared to kavita. both can sing simple songs"

Wrong!! Completely wrong!! It is not like 'can sing simple songs'..even may be I or u can sing 'Zindegi ka Safar hain ye kaisa safar' by Kishore. It is so simple song. But point is not to just sing it technically correctly only but important thing is can that very simple song be sung better than Kishore? Similarly can Kavita sing the simple song more sweetly than Alka? No one wud agree Kavita can beat Alka in that.

  • i personally prefer kavitaji's voice, again that is a personal preference. i think that kavitaji adds an enormous amount of emotion in everything she sings. and you are absolutely correct in the zindagi ka safar example. however, all of these successful playback singers sing with much emotion; so we can only compare them on their voice control.

don't get me wrong, i think you might have, i love kishoreda and alka, they're just not the best when you compare them to such giants.

  • thank u Saswata98, u must have read my comments on the same......

i was trying to tell this guy that he is too far from realty........

this guy just talks everything ideal...rather classical......

  • Yes that guy is very traditional minded. I respect classical singing. I know Kishore's singing will have lots of fault if we judge by that. But point is, we are judging playback singing which has its own qualities. Imagine some classical maestro singing Pal pal dil ke pass! My God it wud be so awkward! It will be a joke! Playback has its own strong points. Thats why classical singers cannot be exprt playbacks. Both are different fields. But poor cricket lover will again say classical!!

  • classical singers can't be expert playback singers?

what about... lata mangeshkar? or asha bhonsle?

listen, there's a reason that all our singers go through classical training. it helps to sing everything else.

  • Lata and Asha are classical singers! My God! Then u need to learn few things about classical singing. They are good only in semi classical level. For e.g when the classical version of "Humein Tumse pyar kitna" was composed, Lata flatly refused to sing it because it was not her cup of tea. So classical mastro Mrs Sultana was called in to sing. Lata, Asha, Rafi are never classical experts like manna dey or any other classical guru. They know classical, not experts to sing any kind of classical...

  • indeed they're nothing compared to manna da, but if you've heard some of the more difficult classically based songs of lataji and ashaji, you'd understand why i say that they're pretty close to actual classical singers. you should hear the mangeshkar sisters sing ragas, and then give me your opinion.

  • what are you on about?????????????

asha bosle isnt classicaly trained everyone knows tht thts like a open fact! she even admits it!! thts why most her songs are pop related and upbeat where as lata's are slow and classical!! YOUUUU need to hear the mangasker sisters and before u tell someone else!

  • your lack of knowledge is so stunning that it is not even worthy of a response.

  • then why would you reply? twat

  • I wud like to tell cricketlover guy that if Rafi was to be judged from classical singing, there will also be lots of defects. I myself met a classical student who idolises manna dey and says Rafi is good in semi classical but cannot sing core classical difficult songs like manna dey. But that does not make Rafi any less or Manna dey any greater... Because both are different things. In present age the untrained singer Kay Kay sings so well a classical singer cannot sing his songs with same ease..

  • that's true, manna dey is the best at core classical songs. anyone who understands music knows that..

and don't make yourself seem stupid, cuz you really are good at that. kk is nothing compared to any classically trained singer.

  • kumar sanu is a legend and to me thier will never be a singer replaceing him or kishore

but i dont think his voice is as powrefull as it was when he first came into the market i have this on cd and it just doesnt sound as good

  • ya, but also bro its a live singing so off course will not be so clear.also u can hear to Alka, does not look liek alka's sound.also this sogns is a bit difficult.but k.sanu is a living legend, but ur r right also, here its look like a bit damages like voice of him and alka, but its a live peroformance, so off course will b a bit changed one.

    Yaseen,Beijig.

  • i like both singers individually but alka and sanu duet pair i dont like, sanuda overshawdows her a lot. anuradha and sadhna sargam suits best with kumar sanu's voice. how can you people say his voice is like a crying goat, this is the guy that got a hug from rd burman for singing beautifully to his composition.

  • kumar sanu is the living legend , a born singer

  • 'Kumar Sanu' is still the Legend :)

He is the best after, Rafisaab and Kishoreda.

  • Pls. don't insult Rafi and Kishore. Have some respect for genuine singers.

  • how dare you !!

to say that sanu is the best after those two..

how can you ignore the great manna dey? or mukesh? or talat mehmood?

Mohammad Rafi, Manna Dey, Talat Mehmood, Kishore Kumar, Mukesh. Then, maybe, sanu. uditji's better than sanu anyway

  • These two are a great pair. I cannot wait for more songs sung by them. Granted KS is nasal - but that's his trademark. I wish he would stop being so stubborn and sign more songs. So many of his fans want him back.

  • Gadhi kya janti hai zafran ki kadar

  • Ramesh you are a moron

  • yes ramesh is indeed a moron, gadhi kya janti hai zafran ki kadar

  • you are a ass . Dont know what singing is .!!!!!

  • he he .... well... don't even need to laugh at you... You deserve sympathy..

You love a crying goat voice... :-) May be u r a female goat. would be sacrificed this Eid! ;-)

  • Kumar sanu & Alka Rocks! kumar sanu is so good, he is the best singer in indian film industry.
