I proposed this weekend. I sang and played this song (on guitar) before asking the question. I also squeezed in some "The Day You Came Along" in the middle. She was crying from beginning to end (and that's before she even knew it was a proposal!). Tons of fun.
The year 1933! From one of Bing's best early films "Going Hollywood" . Paramount loaned him to M.G.M. who wanted to revive the flagging career of Marion Davies, the paramour of William Randolph Hearst. Because the film took so long (due to Marion's passion for drink and good fun), Bing made $75,000. There are some fabulous songs, I love "We'll make hay while the sun shines. We'll make love when it rains."
@oldkiesel Hello there, I noted your interesting comments regarding Going Hollywood. I am interested in your source material. Going Hollywood was released in December of 1933.(?) When did filming begin? I believe this audio is from the original Brunswick recording. I am interested in the live film recording of this song. When was it recorded?
I would be very interested in communicating with you further if possible. Regards, Chris.

actually its kind of a funny thing, i was at a half price books and i found an LP set called Bing Crosby-Early Gold, it was a few years back, so i didnt recognize many songs, but i figured why not. Im telling you, best $2 ive ever spent. i think it was four LPs.
One of my favourite singers! What a voice! Smooth as butter. Long live Bing!

Haha, that certainly would be the best $2 anyone could spend! I'll have to keep a look out at those types of places from now on.
