Oh, the pure condescension that John Cleese is able to make drip, no, gush from his words....it's just brilliant! And I love the monotone that Mike Palin uses to say "No...No.." - it's just perfect for the sketch.
And to think all of this was borne from John Cleese feeling seasick :)
I don't care how excrementally runny it is, hand it over with all speed.
I also love that they speak French so badly I am able to understand them. Hand over la fromage de la belle France qui s'appelle Camembert, s'il vous plait.
You know another of the most brilliant things about them is how non-traditional the form of the sketches are. When John first comes into the cheese shop, he's the insane one, and you think it's going to be jokes about the way he talks. And then there's this tertiary weirdness with the music that has no place in the sketch whatsoever, but it wouldn't be the same without it. And jesus christ, how many sketches can Monty Python have that are funnier than anything else ever written?!
I think Terry describing the show so far is brilliant. It's so great how embarrassed he is by it. When he hears it read out loud, he's embarrassed by it because he can hear how ridiculous it sounds.

The show so far-bit is definitely one of my favorites from Terry. He usually seems to try too hard but in this the awkwardness is just right

They could have only shown the Cheese Shop sketch and it would have still been a great episode.

You know at 2:09 you can see the set for the cheese shop sketch and if you look hard enough you can see the prop guy holding that big hammer.
