Hey, just thought I would let you know how much I appreciate these lectures online. I'm a maths student at Edinburgh university and I don't think I have ever had a lecture so clear or as easy to understand as all of your lectures are!
I'm a first year MATH1151 student, and approaching my first semester examinations, you have clarified so many areas of the course that left me confused by my current lecturers for weeks on end. Thank you very much! I wish that you could have taught our lectures too.
Spectacular video, thank you very much sir. Im a 2nd year Civil engineering(edexcel) student from Sri lanka. i got maximum benifit from you lectures to my Eng math unit. may god bless you for your effort :)
I'm a 2nd year Mechanical Engineering student in Canada and your video lectures are EXTREMELY helpful! I've learned more in a few hours of watching your videos than I have with a month of lectures/labs. THANK YOU!
although it is not that easy to read the printed text, it is very helpfull that you write with your pen in real time as well - makes it very easy to follow, and the commentry makes it very clear what and why your doing stuff.
Really clearly explained; verythorough, with useful methods and reasons for things such as partial compared to normal differentiation. It's really handy to have someone work through it while explaining. Thanks!
Great effort Chris! I am one of these students that need to go over difficult bits over and over before they stick, and this helps heaps. Lectopia is nice, but in math especially just hearing the lecturer solve problems isn't a whole lot of help.
I also like the way you hand-write the problems for the video as you solve them. I prefer this over a "powerpoint" style approach you sometimes get on other math websites, so please stick with it!
You're not alone, alepro. I, too, need to go over stuff over and over until it sticks!
I guess the nand-writing makes the vid a bit more dynamic and less passive. I, too, have a dislike for powerpoint (but that's just me and it works great for others).
You're a gun Tisdell!!. Best MATH1231 2009 S2 Tuesday and Thursday Calculus Lecuturer EVER. :D
No but on a serious note, i missed the lecture on the chain rule as i was sick so I was thinking that i'd have to try and teach myself it out of the course notes. But Tisdel came to the rescue.
Cheers
Looking forward to you continuing to make maths fun See you in class!!
Its good that these videos are up because during the lecture, there would be some distraction or tuning out because of a long day. This is very useful because u can watch a section to understand it better.
Thankyou soo much you are awsme keep it up!
