@TheDiddlysquat You talk a lot of nonsense. All one needs to do is read the original Mersey-beat magazines printed in Liverpool in 1960 and 1961 to see how popular he was at the time. And the reason he never had a national hit is because he had fans in Liverpool only, which was not a large enough fan base to sell enough records to break the national charts! How does history prove Best was not the most popular beatle? Again, this is backed up by magazines printed at the time!
@sergeitalos452 I'm not sure it's fair to not like The Beatles because you didn't like John Lennon. They were young, stupid, arrogant kids when they sacked Pete. I'm not a big fan of John Lennon as a person in his early days either, but that doesn't stop me from liking The Beatles, because if their music was amazing. If you judged Oasis by the same criteria then every single person should fricking hate them, because Liam and Noel are way more assholic than John ever was.

@Carthsting No they couldn't, because when the Beatles were moving away from Hamburg, Germany for their next gig, Stu chose to stay in Germany with his girl friend, but sadly Stu died at age 21, because of a brain damage. Pete only knew how to play drums, and his drumming was very suckish. So, Pete was replaced by Ringo in 1962.

It's about the music, not looks. The chick fans may have noticed their looks, but that wouldn't mean anything today. It was about music & talent. I'm sure Pete's a nice guy & he was quite handsome. I got a book called "Treasures of The Beatles" for Xmas. There's this one bit in it:
"the following week, Martin gave him his chance to play, and was pleasantly surprised. Whilst not as good as a seasoned session man like White (Georde Martins regular session drummer), Ringo was a clear improvement on Pete Best"
recently , while "surfing" the Web , I came across a Site (don't remember the URL , tho) , where "Somebody" really did Their "HomeWork" , listing ALL of the "Known" Members of the QuarryMen/SilverBeatles/Beatles , in-Addition-to a Couple of OddBall Groups that George or Paul or Pete Best had been a Member-of.
I've always been led to believe that Alan Williams was still Their Manager when the Group met Brian Epstein ... I've seen (Legal ???) Documents indicating that the (Silver)Beatles were "signed" to William's "Company" , Jacaranda Productions ... does Anyone know if Epstein bought-out That "Contract" from Williams ??? ... or was It a Case of "sorry , Charlie" ???

lol... however, he was in the band in 1912... Best was fired a month before "love me do" hit the charts, there is a difference.

recently , while "surfing" the Web , I came across a Site (don't remember the URL , tho) , where "Somebody" really did Their "HomeWork" , listing ALL of the "Known" Members of the QuarryMen/SilverBeatles/Beatles , in-Addition-to a Couple of OddBall Groups that George or Paul or Pete Best had been a Member-of.

the beatles are wearing black leather? they look like a punk band. Best really does with his hair. They look like a punk band from 1977.

That's Allan Williams their first manager telling the story of their trip to Hamburg.
2:30 The I.O.U. from Paul for 15 quid will be worth more as a collector's item than to be paid off, even with interest.

Allan Williams thought they wouldn't make it far so he left them.
