  • I admire the parents, their fortitude, determination & ingenuity with keeping their children in speaking their native tongue. Many Filams don't speak any Filipino languages despite the efforts of their parents, perhaps the method used here can be effective in keeping Filams in touch with their Filipino roots.

  • Slippers sounded like "bakiya" in Paiwan. Bakya are wooden clogs in Tagalog. It's a Chinese word :-D

  • @csundita several words in the aboriginal taiwanese language are very closely related to tagalog names (:

  • hahah paiwan sounds like indonesian malaysian and Filipino language sounds similiar to each other hahaha xD

  • Kids can learn as many languages as you teach them, but if the kids don't learn a language, it is doomed. Three cheers for Tedrudj and his wise parents!
