Make sure you plug the phones into a stereo adapter, not 1/4 inch to 1/8 inch mono. Are they plugged in all the way? Have you tested you phones with another device?
Hello, I bought a yamaha 95 from a music store which i shall not name. When I connected the new piano for the first time the record option was already used. the play button had a green light. I was wondering if anyone knows if a new Yamaha p95 does have a prerecorded song on the record option (not talking about the 50+ songs). Because i think i came home with a 2nd hand.
@kcprodut10n It could have been used at the music store you bought it at. In example, they kept the piano out for show in the store and someone who was trying out the piano recorded a song with it.
Yes, you can connect the P95 to your computer using a MIDI to USB interface (about $30). You are then free to work with any music production programs or software instruments. Feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns.
You can take the headphone output and connect it to an amplifier using a splitter cable...1/8 inch male on one end, two 1/4 inch male on the other. When you plug into that headphone jack, you will disable the internal speakers. Feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns.
Hello, I have a question I want to buy a digital piano whit a real piano sound. I have seen the Korg SP 250 and the SP 170, the Kawai CL 25 and the CL 35, the Yamaha P 95 and the Privia PX 730. Which one do you think has a better acoustic piano sound?
I just took the 1/8 inch headphone output of the P95 and connected it to the inputs on our HD camcorder. Feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns.
Hi, I have a P95 and Midi to USB interface. I wonder if I can play the midi files directly on my computer and hear it via the P95's speakers? If not, is it possible to upload a midi file on my computer to P95's user recorded midi storage?
I don't believe you can load a MIDI file into the P95's internal memory. However, you should be able to play a MIDI file from your computer into the P95 and the P95 will play the file through it's onboard speakers. Feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns.
Hello, great video! But I have a question.... Which is better? The Yamaha p-95 or the Casio CDP-100??? It's hard for me to decide one of this two, I need help ASAP
Hi, I am trying to decide to whether go with a yamaha p95 or a casip privia 130x. I'm mostly leaning towards privia due to it having 128 note polyphony. Is 64 voice really that limiting when you play very fast demanding pieces.
The 64 voice polyphony would only be an issue if you were sustaining many notes with a layered sound (Piano/Strings)...this would cut your polyphony down to effectively 32 notes. Please feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns. Thanks for watching!
'm kinda of worried about the gh of yamaha, they said that high notes touh are less graded. I'd like them to have all the same weight do you think i can find it in a korg?
Generally speaking, all modern digital pianos have some kind of graded action. The low notes are a bit heavier than the high notes, accurately simulating the feel of a real piano. It's a slight difference in weight from low to high, and I wouldn't worry about it...the action on the P95 feels good. Please feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns.
Hi, I'm an intermediate self-taught player who owns one of those horrible synthy cheap workstation yamaha keyboards. Hi, thanks for your interest. The P95 does have weighted keys that accurately simulate the feel of an acoustic piano. The P155 does have an improved action known as the Graded Hammer Effect. This action is heavier and smoother than the P95 action and is a noticeable improvement. That being said, the P95 is one of our most popular instruments and is a great choice for many players. Thanks for your interest in Kraft Music and the Yamaha P95. The Yamaha P95 has FULLY WEIGHTED keys that accurately simulate the feeling of a real piano. A semi-weighted action implies a lighter action like an organ or synth. Please feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns. Thanks for watching!
Hi, Thanks for your interest. The audio in this video is taken directly from the audio outputs of the keyboard, so you are hearing basically what the instrument would sound like through headphones or when plugged into a recording device. Please feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns.
hi goodday to you brother, i just wanna ask whats better? p-95 or dgx-630? im just a student or beginner, thanks!!! ----> respect here from philippines
I need a keyboard for jazz gigs. I'm doubting between Yamaha P95 and Casio PX130. Which one do you think has better reliability and durability? Which one do you think is more suitable for this task?
@jsevi83 i tested the two instruments, definetely yamaha's sound is much better than casio. Yamaha is much much clear and dynamic than casio. I think the yamaha have the best sound in the category to 1000-1200 EURO.
@jsevi83 I own the casio px130, and play a yamaha p95 everyday at school, and in the $500 range I think the casio is better. The keys feel better, the sound is really good, but the sustain doesnt last as long as on the yamaha but that can easily be fixed using a vsti. Once you start getting in to the $700 and up range, yamaha is definitely the way to go.
That was actually the previous model, the Yamaha P85. The P85 had an angled section on the underside of the keyboard that made it difficult to position on an X frame stand. That design flaw was corrected on the P95. Please feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns. Thanks for watching!
hi, is it best to get two speakers for stereo output when gigging with this piano, just the one in mono wouldnt sound as good no? A PA system you would recommend? Also I believe there is distortion on speakers because there is no aux outputs on this piano, does the headphone output really work as well?
The headphone output works just fine for connecting to a PA system. I used the headphone outs to make this video, and the sound is clean. I would recommend a stereo PA system like the Yamaha Stagepas 300 or Stagepas 500. You'll want to use a splitter cable on the headphone output to separate into left and right sides.
@kraftmusic really appreciate your reply Dave! Is there any cheaper alternatives, my budget is about £100-200 max. It doesnt have to sound the greatest, just as long as its clean and goes fairly loud, thanks, Mark.
Hi! Can you tell me if the speakers of the yamaha p-95 sound loud enough so i don't have to buy an amplifier if i want to play in open space in front of approx. 50 people? I 've read they have power of 6 Watts. Is this enough power or i'll have to buy anyway an amplifier? (i'm only speaking for solo piano in front of max 20 to 50 people) Thx very much.
A quiet and attentive audience of 20-50 people would be about the most you could cover with the P95. If you're talking about a coffee shop or club with any extra noise or conversation you would want an external speaker system. Feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.
For an inexpensive solution I'd recommend a Yamaha MSR100 powered PA speaker for $299. Or, for a little more power, an MSR250 for $399. Feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns.
@IFrancyISantosI there are 10 sounds, you can see them at 1:34. Grand piano 1 & 2, Electric piano 1 & 2, jazz organ, pipe organ, strings, choir, harpsi-chord, and finally vibraphone. You can play up to 2 sounds simultaneously.
I just got the Yamaha p95 recently and I am curious of how you recorded the audio from the p95 in this video? Did you record through headphones or from the speakers? If you recorded from the headphone jack please explain how this was done.
Hi, Thanks for your interest. For this video, I took the stereo headphone output of the P95 and connected it to the line inputs of my camera. You just need a splitter cable (sometimes known as an "insert cable"). Please feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns.
Thanks for your interest in Kraft Music and the Yamaha P95. All of the music you hear in this video are original compositions or improvisations by Kraft Music Team Member Adam Berzowski. You can check out more examples of his work at cd baby dot com slash cd slash alephmotivus. Feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns.
Yes, the keys on the Yamaha P95 are weighted and simulate the feeling of an acoustic piano. The same action is used on the YDP141 (current version of YDP140) and the main difference between the instruments is the furniture-style cabinet and speaker system. Thanks for watching!
Sure, the P95 would be a good choice. It provides all the essential sounds (piano, organ etc) along with a weighted key action that pianists prefer. You may need to plug into an external amp or speaker system...you can do so by plugging into the headphone output of the P95. Thanks for your interest!
I think I would definitely pick the P95 over the NP30 for a couple of reasons. The P95 features a fully weighted action. The P95 also features larger, more powerful built-in speakers. Feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns.
Thanks for your interest in Kraft Music and the Yamaha P95. The P95 does include a single sustain footswitch. You can also add a piano style sustain pedal, such as the FC4, or the Yamaha LP5 triple pedal (when attached to the L85 furniture-style stand). Please feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns.
Firstly thanks for this video. I'm gonna buy a new stage piano but there are lots of options and it's hard to chose one of them. I can't decide to have yamaha p95, p140 or cp33. If those were at the same price range (p140 and cp33 are close to each other) which one is more rational option for you?
I was wondering, if I connect my piano's midi in and out to the midi in and out of an audio interface to my mac using a Midi cable would I be able to record on garage band?
Yes, that should work. Connecting the MIDI In/Out ports of your digital piano to the MIDI ports on your interface would allow you to send MIDI note data to garage band for sequencing, etc. Please feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns.
Well, I've plugged in everything so should I be able to hear the piano on garageband? Its weird because when I don't have my condenser microphone connected to the audio interface it doesn't pick up the piano@kraftmusic
You might be confused about the difference between MIDI and audio. The MIDI ports on your P95 send MIDI note data...bits of information that tell the computer what notes you're playing, how long you're playing them, how hard, etc. This does not transfer the sound of the instrument. To record the audio of your P95, you'll want to take the headphone output and plug it into the line inputs of your interface. Feel free to contact me with any other questions.
oh right! okay so what type of cable would I need to connect the headphone output to the line output? And I wouldn't still need to have the MIDI ports connected even when I have the line output connected to the headphone output right? @kraftmusic
Most likely you'd need a 1/4 inch stereo to dual 1/4 inch mono cord. This is sometimes called a splitter or "insert" cable. We have them available for about $8. Thanks for watching!
So I bought the "insert" cable and plugged it into my audio interface which I then plugged into my computer. When I opened up garage band I tried to record my piano but it still didn't work. Is there a software that I need to download or something for my yamaha piano in order for me to be able to work this out?
You have to assign the inputs of your audio interface to audio tracks within garageband. You are recording from an external audio source, ie the audio interface.
Yamaha P95.. It seems really good! A lot of great reviews and comments! It's even a good price! (: I hope to get the Yamaha P95 when I can! I love piano. ^^
I have a few questions about the p95 can you get back to me? Or i see your number? xD but do you do text? I'd rather text because ill probably feel really stupid the way ill ask the question so yeah... :D
Feel free to contact me at the number below with any questions. This is our business phone, so no texting. Also, feel free to email me through youtube with questions. Thanks!
Sure, you can take the audio output of the P95 (headphone jack) and connect it to the audio input of your computer's sound card. The MIDI ports would only be used for MIDI sequencing or notation, not for audio recording. Feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns.
The Yamaha P95 and MO8 actually use the same weighted key action. They will feel very similar in action. Please feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns.
Hi . I really like this video. I've been thinking about buying this product. Do you recommend this for someone who wants to teach himself to play the piano? thank you.
Thanks for your interest. The Yamaha P95 is one of our most popular digital pianos, especially for beginning students. This would be an excellent choice. Please feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns.
Thanks for your interest in Kraft Music and the Yamaha P95. You can plug in the triple pedal option without using the L85 furniture style stand. The pedal section detaches from the horizontal pedal board and would fit under a portable stand. Please feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns.
Thanks for your interest. OK, the two models are Yamaha P95B and P95S. The only difference is the color of the cabinet, black or silver. Please feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns.

Hi, could you please tell me the difference between the P-85 and the P-95, and possibly even the P-155. I've noticed that some of the sound choices differ. Is this the only difference, and are they modeled after the same piano voicings. Thank you.
-a satisfied past and possibly continued future customer-
Thanks for your interest. The piano samples have been slightly updated, and there is a small design change on the underside of the keyboard that allows placement on a traditional X stand. The speakers in the P95 are also slightly improved over the P85. Please feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns.
All of the pieces you hear in this video are original compositions by Kraft Music team member Adam Berzowski. You can hear more examples of his work at:
Thanks for your interest in Kraft Music and the Yamaha P95. I would recommend the Kaces brand XKP15KB rolling bag. This bag offers great protection for the keyboard and doesn't add a lot of extra weight. The case sells for $99.95 and we generally keep it in stock. Please feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns.
Yes, you can plug a set of headphones into the Yamaha P95. Doing so will mute the built-in speakers. Please feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns.
I would like to know what are the differences in the weighted piano keys with the P95 and P155. Does the P95 have GHE? I am also considering Casio px130 but I am interested in key action most because I am a music major and enjoy Chopin very much so I would like a good portable piano with good feel.
The P95 uses the Graded Hammer Standard action and the P155 uses the Graded Hammer Effect action. The P95 has a nice weighted feel, but the P155's action is definitely an upgrade. Please feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns.
Thanks for your interest. This digital piano can definitely be used in conjunction with any Mac or PC. You will need a USB to MIDI interface which runs about $40. Please feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns.
Thanks for your interest. The audio in this video was taken directly out of the digital piano and sent into the line inputs on the camera. Every time you hear the piano playing, you are listening to the direct outputs of the P95. Please feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns.
Glad you enjoyed the demo. The P95 has on-board speakers that are suitable for home practice or a small performance. You can also plug the P95 into an external speaker system or amplifier for enhanced sound quality and additional volume. Please feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns.
pleaaasssee teach me that rift at 1:05.. Ive been playing for 7 years now.. where do you find this stuff and learn it.. is there a name for that type of rift. im sure u didnt make it up sicckkkkk. also do you know if the p95b has the same keybed as a yamaha kx8 controller
All of the pieces you hear in this video are original compositions by Kraft Music team member Adam Berzowski. You can hear more examples of his work at:
Thanks for your interest and I'm glad you enjoyed our video demo. Unfortunately, our dealer agreements with Yamaha prohibit us from shipping outside of the US. Please feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns.
Thanks for watching. Well, I guess it depends on what you need in a digital piano. The P95 is a nice entry-level model with weighted keys and nice sounding built-in speakers. It's a relatively lightweight and portable model that can also be placed on a furniture style stand. Do you need the instrument to be portable, or would you prefer a furniture-style look?
@kraftmusic Well, a friend of mine is a professional pianist, and he insists that I get 88 keys, weighted keys, and 3 pedals. I am really hoping for something that I can connect to my Mac, as I like the piano lessons and the artist lessons on Garage Band. I am thinking I may want some sort of self taught piano lessons, if that is possible. I don't want a large piece of furniture, but I think I need something that promotes good posture, etc., when seated at the instrument...
Thanks for your interest. Yes, you can definitely connect the P95 to your computer if you'd like to work with music production software, notation software, or computer-based lessons. Please feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns.
Thanks for your interest in Kraft Music and the P95 digital piano. The P155 definitely has an advantage in terms of sound quality and key action. The P155 also features more sounds and some extra features like 1/4 inch line outputs and USB to device functions. Please feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns.
How do you get the audio to come out both headphone speakers? When I record the audio only comes out the left side.

I would recommend a stereo PA system like the Yamaha Stagepas 300 or Stagepas 500. You'll want to use a splitter cable on the headphone output to separate into left and right sides.
Thanks!

@kraftmusic really appreciate your reply Dave! Is there any cheaper alternatives, my budget is about £100-200 max. It doesnt have to sound the greatest, just as long as its clean and goes fairly loud, thanks, Mark.

I don't have any other stereo options that are cheaper. You could try a small mono keyboard amp like the Roland KC60 or KC150...

Hi! Can you tell me if the speakers of the yamaha p-95 sound loud enough so i don't have to buy an amplifier if i want to play in open space in front of approx. 50 people? I 've read they have power of 6 Watts. Is this enough power or i'll have to buy anyway an amplifier? (i'm only speaking for solo piano in front of max 20 to 50 people) Thx very much.
biotasss 5 months ago
@biotasss
Hi,
A quiet and attentive audience of 20-50 people would be about the most you could cover with the P95.

And, what's the difference between a Yamaha P95 and a Yamaha YDP-140 ARIUS? I really want to know this things. Thanks.
Monikoue 8 months ago
Hi,
Yes, the keys on the Yamaha P95 are weighted and simulate the feeling of an acoustic piano. The same action is used on the YDP141 (current version of YDP140) and the main difference between the instruments is the furniture-style cabinet and speaker system. Thanks for watching!

Hello! I am in a Church Praise Band, and we need an on stage keyboard. Would you recommend this for live stage performance?
ipodlover15 10 months ago
Sure, the P95 would be a good choice. It provides all the essential sounds (piano, organ etc) along with a weighted key action that pianists prefer. You may need to plug into an external amp or speaker system...you can do so by plugging into the headphone output of the P95. Thanks for your interest!

Hi Dave,
would you prefer the Yamaha P-95 over the Yamaha NP-30 when it comes to pure playability and tone?
I know the former is twice as expensive, but that doesn't always have to mean much.
I sadly don't have the opportunity to test them..
denimdnmd 10 months ago
I think I would definitely pick the P95 over the NP30 for a couple of reasons. The P95 features a fully weighted action. The P95 also features larger, more powerful built-in speakers. Feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns.

Hi,
Thanks for your interest in Kraft Music and the Yamaha P95. The P95 does include a single sustain footswitch. You can also add a piano style sustain pedal, such as the FC4, or the Yamaha LP5 triple pedal (when attached to the L85 furniture-style stand). Hi Dave,
Firstly thanks for this video. I'm gonna buy a new stage piano but there are lots of options and it's hard to chose one of them. I can't decide to have yamaha p95, p140 or cp33. If those were at the same price range (p140 and cp33 are close to each other) which one is more rational option for you?
Thanks.

Hi Dave,
I was wondering, if I connect my piano's midi in and out to the midi in and out of an audio interface to my mac using a Midi cable would I be able to record on garage band?
MarceyGaie 1 year ago
Hi,
Yes, that should work.

MarceyGaie 1 year ago
You might be confused about the difference between MIDI and audio. The MIDI ports on your P95 send MIDI note data...bits of information that tell the computer what notes you're playing, how long you're playing them, how hard, etc. This does not transfer the sound of the instrument. To record the audio of your P95, you'll want to take the headphone output and plug it into the line inputs of your interface. Feel free to contact me with any other questions.

Most likely you'd need a 1/4 inch stereo to dual 1/4 inch mono cord. This is sometimes called a splitter or "insert" cable. We have them available for about $8. Thanks for watching!

Is there a software that I need to download or something for my yamaha piano in order for me to be able to work this out?

You have to assign the inputs of your audio interface to audio tracks within garageband. You are recording from an external audio source, ie the audio interface.
