  • good vid, i seriously dont see how this wouldnt work. as long as you push hard and drive your feet it seems to be a given

  • gsp's calves are like human heads!

  • I like for the street as pulled it off once. Is that same situation as in the video. Than I go over with my arm over his arm and lock it and with my other arm I push with my hand the chin. You ll see he will walk backwards like in this video with his chin the air. Then immidiatly as you see the neck exposed give an ellebow to the troath with the arm that holding the chin. Thats right away the end of the fight on the street.

  • My technique is nipple twisting. It can stop anyone.

  • muytai???

    MUAY THAI!

  • lol i do kyokushin (georges original MA) and the other day we did clinch breaking only a few different things but they were really effective. first thing we did was a choke using their collar, as the opponent grabs u puull them towards you to neutralize punching and grab their collar then press your fists together on their neck. it works really well...OSU from australia

  • am i the only one tht has noticed his name is georges st. pierre not george. and yes it makes a diffrence idk y it just bothers me when the s isnt there

  • haha funny thing is the guys clinch is complety wrong. hes suposed to clich on the head not neck and not interlock his fingers

  • maybe its wrong, but obviously its working for him.

  • look how GSP takes the thai-clinch grip, thats the way to do it

  • correct; if you interlock the fingers like that you have a shitty hold and are putting your fingers at risk. We shout at noobs in our gym for doing this.

  • another great thing to do at 0:47 is to wrap your left leg around the guys right leg and take him down to the mat :D

  • na if ur muai tai ur much rather prefer having the clinch over him than to take him down.

  • true but hes showing how to get your opponent on the clinch as he trys to put you on it

  • Check out GSP and BJ Penn in Never Surrender... Out on DVD- Watch the trailer on our page

  • Whoever that was gsp was demonstratin on needs to learn to clinch properly,, never interlock fingers when clinchin,, notice how gsp clasps the bak of his hand with his other hand! correct technique

  • nice catch

  • yeah that was bugging me haha, and also the dude has his hands round the back of the neck, whereas gsp has the crown of the head. this means that gsp actually has the leverage to pull the head in to his chest properly

  • and his elbows are not pinched in tightly

  • Is it dangerous or more ineffective to lace the fingers like that?

  • dangerous for you

  • Your right, apart from having less potential to break their posture with the hand positioning and it being harder to release your grip if you choose it (especially with MMA gloves on) also means any explosive attempts escape from your grip are going to wrench your fingers potentially dislocating them or pulling ligaments.

  • thanks

  • Does anyone know what shorts he's wearing right there? .are they full contact fighter shorts?

  • damn, george st. pierre has become as good a kickboxer as cro cop or do you think i'm just fuckin around?

  • you're definitely just fucking around, george st pierre isn't on cro cops level because his kicks aren't nearly as good but kick boxing isn't his style, kick boxing to karate is kinda like the difference between an out fighter and an in fighter in boxing... you just can't compare them because the strategy is different.

  • GSP's kicks are easily just as good as cro cops.

but i'm sure that each of crocops legs is probably like 10 lbs heavier then GSP's

  • no way

im a huge GSP fan and i even have his autograph on my wall

but there is no way GSPs kicks are as good as cro cops in his prime.

"right leg hospital. left leg cemetery"

  • i never said the kick wouldn't hurt more , i meant they are equal in technique and if anything gsp has better technique behing his kicks

  • @ PR00H:

yeah. cause i do have his autograph you stupid fuck hahah

GSP is my favorite fighter hands down

but cro cop in his prime was arguably the best kicker in mma.

in the kickboxing world i would give it to either alex gong or andy hug.

and before you ask, the hardest puncher in my opinion was igor vovchanchyn in his prime. or of course a prime tyson

  • thats true

  • shut the fuck up

  • in my opinion the ground game is the harders ant most technical part of the fight for the fighters

  • frank shamrock thinks its the stand up thats harder. i tend to agree

  • no standing up is definitely the hardest. when you get good on the ground, it can become second nature, and you can also control another person's movements and know exactly what he is capable of doing at every point... but on the stand up, it's basically a guessing game until someone actually does something. a truly skilled striker, not just someone who hits hard, is also a lot more impressive technically... see cung le

  • its all varied, some people will pick up some parts better than others, i know guys who are great strikers that can't grapple to save there life, and vise versa.

  • I agree about ground game not been boring i myself am a boxer but i am now expanding to ju-jitsu and other forms just because been able to control the fight in rea life situation you will need to be able to control it on the ground too where all real fights end up

  • Street fighting is useless against a good martial artist. And I fully agree with the person a little lower about how ignorant fucks go to UFC shows and boo at ground fighting, which is just as cool as striking. Is that Dana White he's explaining with?

  • Yes, poke someone in the eye in a MMA fight. Good thinking.

  • there's 3 kinds of fight enthusiats as far as i can see.

    1. Real fighters that train or practice in reallife

    2. People that understand the art and follow the rankings, but for whatever reason choose not to train.

3 people who watch highlight video and TUF and think they are fighters cause they know what the moves look like.

It's harder then it looks and if you dont know then keep it closed.

  • Thanks to TUF I can pwn Fedor.

  • theres also these morons who go to UFC shows and boo at anything besides mindless standup and blood. god i hate that. People get on the forums sometimes and will say..I PAYED TOO SEE A FIGHT, WITH BLOOD,NOT ART. Well anyone who knows MMA knows its an art and science. for u fuckers who boo...learn some respect, and go to another sport. Cause it sure the fuck isnt gunna change for u. Take it or leave it.

  • Good point, can't agree more! I'm the type 1 guy anyway!

  • Personally I prefer to use an eye attack, or nerve attack (the carotid artery works well, as does the hollow of the neck if you can get to it) as a clinch breaker. It can be hard to get to the opponent's throat if they keep their head in close (to the side of your head.

  • hes not trying to teach us how to street fight... although ur technique is perfect in a street fight :)

  • Right on. Although, I don't really see why applying pressure with your forearm to someone's throat is considered "sporting", but applying pressure with your thumb isn't. None of the techniques I mentioned are going to cause the opponent any permanent or serious damage (if you know what you're doing), so why are there rules against them? I guess I just never liked how limiting the rules of MMA were.

  • Thast called a choke and you can easily defend that and works great in a street fight too :), applying the pressure with thumb can easily make the fight boring, think about it, your watching an MMA fight and someone quickly uses the thumb pressure tecnique can end the fight very fast and boring. but that tecnique works great if you really know what your doing in a street fight.

  • Boring? Well, perhaps to the untrained eye, yes. Personally, I'm more concerned with who is the best fighter, not what technique they use to win. Also, yes, it's sort of a bar choke, but not really, it's more of a throat pressure using the forearm, and yes both will work in a street fight.

  • For MMA a thumb could push through and cause damage, but also keep in mind how utterly and completely you're handing your arm over for an armbar if you straight choke someone. It's also very easy to reverse/sweep someone who is going for a straight choke.

  • do u faggots know who GSP is ? if u dont, dont talk shit about him. thanks

  • fought pro in thailand, so yes, i guess i have fought. get your eyebrow split open you will lose ona TKO buddy. ..and a good crack on the jaw will get you knocked the F out. punches to the face dont hurt....ha ha ha give me a break Lol

  • well I been many fights.. Actualy when I didn't practice kickboxing peaple could hit as hard as they could and it wouldn't hurt. But when I started training I discovered that it realy hurted.. It's because your body will release hormones in to your body so you wount feel a thing.. But when it comes everyday thing your your body gets used to it and punches and kicks will hurt more.. ofcorce if you train you will learn how to take punches more effectivly

  • Doubt that your that good. Considering a punch/elbow/knee/kick in the face can not only break your nose but can break many small bones throughtout your face.

  • Nisp you doubt he is that good? dont you think anyone in the UFC has to be good? if you even know what the UFC is. Hes the champ. Or was untill last saturday when he lost to matt serra. But still prob knows more then you. doosh.

  • I wasnt talking about GSP you asshole. I was replying to some random comment. GSP is awesome and he will have the WW belt again! Read what im commenting too if your gonna comment douche. By the way... blow me

  • nice vid. one thing i dont like about puting your hands down to defend knees like that is someone decent with elbows will just start bouncing them off your head as you cant defend. just a thought.there are better ways.

  • yeah but during an actual fight ur not goign to do taht really slow. its all one motion.

  • yes, in a fight yuor opponant wont throw knees or elbows very slow either, as soon as you drop yuor hands to defend knees you can get attacked with punches or whatever. its just better to keep your hands up defending anyway possible than to drop them down like that.you can take more damage to the body.whatever, i dont care, we have to figure things out for ourselves, sometimes its the hard way.

  • LMAO whatever the fuck. Have you ever been in a fight. Punches to the face dont hurt. Bodyshots do. I rather eat a pucnh than a Muay Thai Knee to my abdomen.

  • that guy he was demonstrating on has a pathetic muay thai clinch, or as they call it, "muytai clintch"

  • stfu you dont know hes ufc 170 pound champion ithink he knows what he is talking about u dumbass

  • Baahahahah... Dana White.

That's an insult... he's short and fat, this is Eric Boudreau from Moncton, NB Canada who is in fact tall and skinny (hard to tell when hunched over in clinch position). He trains at my Kung Fu school, as well as grappling with GSP in Montréal.

  • That's my boy

  • Awesome stuff moe, do you get out to roll with him on video?

  • i rolled with him at the end of the seminar but its not on the video, he wasnt trying until like the last 30 sec adn got me into a gullitene.

  • Thanks!

  • lol no thast george and his training buddy (a kickboxing champion)

  • no

  • is that Dana White?

  • Yeah, at first I thought it was Dana White, too...
