it's no coincidence... i'm in an unsigned band and linkin park have outright stolen one of my old myspace tunes. since learning of this my band has created a campaign video BUT since posting the video all we have recieved is abusive comments and ridicule from linkin park fans. spare some time to check our video and see for yourselves
Ha when I started to release that Led Zepplin are a huge rip of band my friends gave me no end of abuse, then when I finally compossed some evidence they never wanted to hear it, case closed they never wanted to talk about it again to be honest it really annoyed me, anyway well done for fighting against it, oh and to Op4Blueshift homages are done through crediting your source, this is plagairism.
i would call it more of a tribute.. not a ripoff. And like people have said u2 was a big influence on LP so i guess this is lp paying homage to them..
You sped up Linkin Park. U2 are an AMAZING band, therefore, they are an everyday inspiration to many other bands. U2 fans should take pride in that. Linkin Park rock anyway, so there.
No they didn't rip off U2. That's one of the most common chord progressions ever. There are like a million songs with that exact same thing. Also, they melody in the vocal lines are very different between the songs, so no it's not a rip off. You could list about a thousand more popular songs that use the same progression.
Listen guys, here, Shadow Of The Day has been obviously sped up since Chester Bennington's voice isn't this high and chimpmunkish and secondly, so what if it is similar? U2 is an amazing band and it happens to be that new bands like, in this situation, Linkin Park have been influenced by their songs. Is that a bad thing? U2 seem to be fine with it and both bands are famous for theirown ways.
yeah chester doesnt sing that high, but still it sounds like a pretty obvious rip off, Im not even a U2 fan (no offense but I really cant stand em). Also dont really like LP
lol, I thought the same thing when I first heard that LP track. I have no doubt it was ripped or ( to use the nicer term) "strongly influenced" by With or without you. You can't just incidentally have such a blatant similarity to one of the most famous and recognizable rock songs of all time. Even though, based on the format of the song, I doubt it could hold up in court, if U2 wanted to sue.
the linkin park dude sounds like a gay little bee...and even it is even worse next to Bono's superb voice, it's sounds like Bono should stop singing and tell the guy: Ok lad, singin lessons are on my tab!
it does sound semi-similiar, but you raised the pitch of Chris's voice and the pitch of the music, and its not exactly simple, fine you guys can say that "LP are rip-offs and U2 owns them" but don't spread that shit on LP vids or i'll sue you, ok?
oh my god you found beats to two songs that match!!!! No wait, bridges where the singer holds out a note a few times??? I CANNOT BELIEVE THIS IS HAPPENING YOU MUST BE SOME KIND OF GENIUS RIGHT

@eatpineapples1 A little too late to say this, but U2 is one of LPs bigggest influences. It's definately a tribute, not a rip off.
