You sped up Linkin Park. U2 are an AMAZING band, therefore, they are an everyday inspiration to many other bands. U2 fans should take pride in that. Linkin Park rock anyway, so there.

No they didn't rip off U2. That's one of the most common chord progressions ever. There are like a million songs with that exact same thing. Also, they melody in the vocal lines are very different between the songs, so no it's not a rip off. You could list about a thousand more popular songs that use the same progression.

Listen guys, here, Shadow Of The Day has been obviously sped up since Chester Bennington's voice isn't this high and chimpmunkish and secondly, so what if it is similar? U2 is an amazing band and it happens to be that new bands like, in this situation, Linkin Park have been influenced by their songs. Is that a bad thing? U2 seem to be fine with it and both bands are famous for theirown ways.

lol, I thought the same thing when I first heard that LP track. I have no doubt it was ripped or ( to use the nicer term) "strongly influenced" by With or without you. You can't just incidentally have such a blatant similarity to one of the most famous and recognizable rock songs of all time. Even though, based on the format of the song, I doubt it could hold up in court, if U2 wanted to sue.
