I grew up in Wyo listining to the great ones like Chris Ledoux and Marty Robbins. They need to bring back style and class, that is for sure. I now have a ranch in California. We will miss the ol songs that still tell a tale like "Poncho and Lefty" if we don't get some new singers who follow the old traditions.

Just found this and I'm sorry I did't know about it earlier! Great tune and well done. It brings back a lot of memories of my younger days listening to Roy, Dale,Gene, Marty, Tex, Rex and all the folks that sang of the old west and it's heros and villians. I love to listen to Red Stegall and some of the modern day western singers, so I'll put you and this tune right in the mix along with them. Thanks again.

I like the lyrics and the melody. I wasn't impressed by the recording though. You could find yourself a better studio. I can relate to the sentiment of the song as I have been watching many of my old muscian friends slowly die off one by one. I'm afraid I'll be the only one who remembers the old songs that my dad used to sing to me.

Mr frank james i liked your song very much! I live in el paso and everytime i listen to marty robins song el paso i love it. im not a cowboy myself but my grandpa and father did live in ranches but in mexico. i would like to live as a cowboy one day have a ranch and all. i like to use a cowboy hat and boots i guess even if i never lived like one I love it. I dont listen to much to country music becuase i think it has become unoriginal but i do listen to mexican cowboy songs. very nice.
