  • Every single person in the video is dead from radiation poisoning.

  • Where did you get this documentation?! I want to see the whole thing!

  • @ArabianImages NOVA - Inside Chernobyl's Sarcophagus

  • @IamNotTamed "my numbers" are from the Chernobyl forum reports. You know, the most comprehensive scientific assesment of pretty much all aspects of the chernobyl disaster ever made; involving the cooperation of the IAEA, FAO, OCHA, UNDP, UNEP, UNSCEAR, WHO, the world bank and the governments of Belarus, Russia and the Ukraine?

So yeah, take your anecdotal nonsense and shove it.

  • watching this video gave me cancer

  • Me and my friends actually wrote a song about these guys. Regardless if in communism you work for the good of others or are forced to work these guys saved the rest of Europe from being like this. Its chilling to read articles about but these guys were heroes.

  • Yup these guys had balls... Isn't that one of the major points to communism? That everyone is equal and will do what needs done for the greater good of others? I havnt looked into communism enough to know for sure but those guys did a lot of good in sure death

  • Every single person on this planet owes these men a debt of gratitude and the utmost of respect.

There are people at Chernobyl today and will likely be hundreds, if not thousands of years later trying to contain this threat to every one of us. The world salutes you all.

  • These guys make me cling to hope for the human race. Still some good left.

  • @IamNotTamed FUCK you.THERE DIED THOUSANDS OF HEROES.HEROES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @IamNotTamed Only 28 emergency workers, firemen included, have died of causes directly attributable to their "volunteering" at Chernobyl, with the remainder of directly attributable deaths being reactor staff and excess thyroid cancer deaths.

Lifetime cancer mortality among Chernobyl clean-up workers is expected to be a few percent in excess of the natural rate according to the LNT model.

All in all, highly undesirable but less so than "volunteering" to fight in a war.

  • @soylentgreenb That's true.Only one fireman didn't die.

  • A coal-chernobyl occurs every few days; no one voluntered to get COPD, lung cancer or heart disease from coal particulates.

The sending of "volunteers" onto the roof in fields as high as ~100 Sv/hr seems more evil somehow; but this is probably a bug in human moral software that doe0s not attribute moral agency to coal plant owners for the virtual genocide caused by coal power, but does to the USSR for the ~50 directly attributable deaths caused by chernobyl.

  • @soylentgreenb well then get the fuck off of your plastic computer powered by electricity and stop watching youtube videos and go live in the fucking woods then or just eat a bullet on the way out there.... one less consumer raping mother earth, right?

  • @johnqdope Are you suffering from some sort of rectal-cranial inversion? I have not mentioned nature at any point.

My computer is powered by nuclear and hydro because I don't live in some backwards shithole that still burns coal. It's not about nature; coal kills people; it kills people in droves. Using the standard EPA statistical value of a human life the 30 000/year who die from coal particulate polution is a loss of $180 billion/year.

    Go suck a tail-pipe, scum.

  • Part of this life

  • By the way, people on video are volunteers who were called "biorobots".They substituted Japanese robot, who worked only for a half an hour, then went down due to radiation and american robot, who showed major malfunctions right after it was delivered on the rooftop of third block, which was full of extremely radioactive debris from reactor active zone and needed to be cleaned up in order to built sarcophagus.they were given limit of 30 seconds or 4 blocks of uranium\graphite debris droped from roof.

  • @GIRLIKESTACOS

and the last one. Please,do not forget that it was first full scale nuclear disaster in the history.Nobody new what to do.And problems were solved in order of their appearance.By the way,do you know that soldiers were only people, who were ordered to be there others volunteered for Chernobyl all over the Ukraine and Soviet Union. They did great job to save our lives and didn't let radiation emission spread all over the Europe,Soviet and all over the world. They died for me to live.

  • @GIRLIKESTACOS

Second-there were no electronics in firetrucksthey were as simple as truck could be.

So they were serviceable and reliable all the time of liquidation. And what do you mean telling "and they still remain to this day, close to their old drivers bodies" O_o it's a horror movie you are describing? Do you think my nation would let it happen? I mean that all,who were liquidating are buried with honor in the coffins made of zinc.Half of them in Moskow and other half in Kiev.

  • @GIRLIKESTACOS

some of your statements are not good enough.Nobody sent first firefighter teams to extremely high radiation zone on purpose. They were on duty that night and took fire alarm as an ordinary fire that they used to fight. Almost for one day nobody could say nothing about situation in engine room of the reactor block.Government and scientists received so much contradictory facts, that nobody could do nothing. At first days they even thought that reactor is harmless and still working.

  • this is the saddest thing I have watched in my intire life..

  • The robot they were using in the video, you can still "visit" him at Chernobyl:

    lplaces [dot] com/en/technique/robot

  • It is indeed terrible that so many people died, but if the reactor wasnt sealed, and exploded to the full extent, the europe would be gone by now.

  • @sawo1337 I'm not sure where you're getting this, but read the report by the Chernobyl forum(consisting of WHO, IAEA, UNEP, FAO, UNSCEAR, UN-OCHA among others): “Chernobyl’s Legacy: Health, Environmental and Socio-Economic Impacts”

  • @soylentgreenb if i remember correctly, discovery predicted that if the melted nuclear materials made their way through the concrete to the tank below the floor of the reactor, there was going to be explosion so big, the entire Europe would be contaminated

  • @sawo1337 "Contaminated" is an unquantified weasel word. If I destroy a tritium key chain fob the entire world we be contaminated. There will be radioactive atoms of tritium going absolutely everywhere and avogadros number is huge so there will be many of them, but the dose to anyone in particular is going to be effectively nill.

Now they know better. The fuel just mixed with the concrete forming a "lava" incapable of sustaining a chain reaction.

  • this is what happened when the public is ignorant and let the gov' do what they want- they pay with their lives. gov' is the entity that killed 120m people in the 20 century alone.

never trust the ruling class!!! they see you as human resource nothing more. and they raise their children with that superiority mentality.

  • It fries their circuits. It's impressive, but believable if you see the photos taken from up there. the radiation came up from the ground and burned some of the negatives. you can see vertical white stripes along their bottoms.

  • potential stupid question, but how would the radiation affect the robots and make them not work anymore?

  • @Billdude21 Donno, probably quite similar to the radiation that makes you not work anymore ;).

If you can imagine just one ionizing particle smashing into those electrons within the electric current scattering thousands them, not to mention digital circuits, then multiply that drastically, it's amazing if you can even get that robot moving according to your wishes.

  • Volunteers my ass.....

  • Red Army ''Voulanteers''.....

  • God bless all fallen People there.

  • Nuclear, Clean Clear. Bull SHIT

  • мать его

  • "Electronika' дозиметр бытовой

  • they are real people. all of them who did it.

  • my mother by miracle avoided this job just because she had a secret level.

but ohther mother with the same age were reserved for liquidation. that was terrible queue in military commissariat my mother said. And chief said to my mother: "go away through the back door while other dont see you". It was very long ago but I can remember when I checked radiation level in our Saint-Petersburg flat a few times per day.

  • @dmitryvvlasov we we equiped by a special digitar dosimeter

  • @dmitryvvlasov Once, a woman who wanted to host children from Chernobyl asked

    "Children shine at night?"

It seems a joke, but now see how far the "intelligence" human.

Incidentally, this is true, no lie.

  • suit full of plomb they would have been better without the plomb

  • poor guys :(

  • terrible disaster in mankind history...

  • the robot can take how the man can?

  • Those poor bastards...during the inital fire extinguishing after the explosion, they sent fire crews out there well knowing that the place was ridden with radiation, and they didn't even give them any protective gear. Most of the firetrucks that they came in were disabled because of radiation, and they still remain to this day, close to their old drivers bodies. Then, they use their own men as expendable tools to clean up their mess with. RIP

  • @GIRLIKESTACOS Its not they're fault ...... i can write 2 pages of what happend to prove its 1 guy's fault. and not THEY'RE fault , and after writing it i should snap ur neck for not showing respect.

  • @gazzxr Take a chill pill, buddy. Watch the video and you will see what I mean. Don't make blind threats. Especially over the internet.

  • @GIRLIKESTACOS whose mess? so the entire soviet union is guilty because of an accident? "they" wanted it to happen? do you blame the japanese for the recent earthquake too?

  • @deviantan021 I never said that the explosion was their fault. Maybe if you actually bothered to read my comment AND watch the video, you might understand what I was talking about. Look up"Chernobyl Firefighters Memorial" if you don't believe me. They sent those fire crews out there knowing damn well they were sending them to their deaths, and then sent those men onto the roof to grab rods from the FUCKING REACTOR, instantly irradiating them to deadly levels. Nobody understand, figures.

  • @GIRLIKESTACOS Fuck off.

  • @pastrychef1985 You mad, for some reason.

  • volunteer my ass! they were given orders to do so and told their military time would be paid in full for the work they did. but they all died. some within minutes, others suffered for years with cancer and such. but ALL the fire fighters droped like flies. The world owes them all for the work they did.

  • @PHARRAOH Russia owes them, they built the crappy reactor, the rest of the world builds solid containment so this does not happen to the outside world. I know I am thankful for the courage and sacrifice.

  • @mbsmike1 it was the guys fault who was in charge. he tried to speed things up, skip over detail, and over heated in a quest for a bonus and to brown nose.

  • @PHARRAOH It happens here too, one of a thousand reasons for the containment building, look at Three Mile Island, the operators made huge mistakes and let the water run out of the core, and look at the Rocketdyne melt down in 1958, no containment building, and it is the worst atomic leak in U.S. history, and no one knew about it for almost 50 years, people are still dying because of Rocketdyne contamination from many mistakes. There have been many other problems, but they were contained.

  • @mbsmike1 yeah, the u.s. are angels right? when I went to the sight, i learned that America the great and a few others are paying to add to the Ukraine disater by shipping their waste neer the sight for storage! this is fact! Money talks and the money grubbing leeders take it and keep it all hush hush, not caring what it does to the risk of the kids. all govs are the same. its just that secrets are kept better here.

  • @PHARRAOH

Just myths circulated in Ukraine to cover up the extent of their own personal fuck-up. Absolutely no way sovereign states could engage in this without a million watchdog authorities knowing.

  • @KingOfTheShrews hey jr, i was there. didnt you see the vid? go to the city and see for your self. wake up jr. your own gov fucks you at every turn and lie with a smile in their eyes as they poison out children. your a fool jr. get back to your vid games and spanking your tiny monkey, while stuffing your face full of bullshit food the same gov says is ok.

  • @PHARRAOH

Quit the patronising tone, I have a degree in Intl. Politics and I'm pretty far left on the political spectrum, I would rather see the end to all governments as they exist and let the people rule via syndicalism. However, having studied international law, atomic energy cooperation etc. I can assure you that for states to engage in such activities, there would certainly be whistle-blowing, and the Ukrainian government is a very corrupt puppet of the United States, prone to such lies.

  • @KingOfTheShrews ok, then believe as you wish, what you read in school and what goes on in the real world are often far different. But I was there in 2005. Did you know the new cover was to be rolled in on rails last year. did you see this on the news? i doubt it! we didnt. it's all hush hush and always will be. I encourage you to go, see it first hand. grow some balls and go learn the difference between what youve been told and whats real. Take your dagree, maybe you can trade it for a beer.

  • @PHARRAOH day of April 26 I always look at the news but never goes out news about chernobyl. One day he sent a letter to the TV, but nothing. the world is full of secrecy (and unconsciousness). chernobyl I can not go because I have 17 years when I have the chance to go (I think it will be my first vacation).

  • @Chernobylcolaborator great. its eye opening. the city from airport to the zone is filled with kids abandond or run aways. be careful. they are desprate and a serious risk. but be cool and help those you can. when i left, i removed my boots for a teen who had shoes with no soles left. theres a book i recomend, if interested, contact me direct and ill tell you a bit. cheers
