He just talks about the features like any other ad, and then throws in a weak joke or two.

These commercials represent everything that is wrong with HP's marketing strategy. Feature parity is not how HP will beat Apple here, they will have to out-Apple Apple. They need a narrative that draws people in and makes them *want* the product, which HP is in the perfect position to do with this closed WebOS ecosystem.

The purchase has to be emotional, not rational. That's what's defined Apple's success.

If that was the way to beat the iPad, than the vast array of Android tablets would have made a much bigger dent in Apple's dominance of the tablet space. This whole ad campaign is misguided, HP shouldn't be trying to show why they're better than the iPad, they should be trying to show why they're great in their own right.

Russell Brand is really good! But this HP TouchPad is not so much. I've used an iPad 2, but since I really like HP as a brand, I thought of getting my hands onto this one.

One, there's not much to do, apps are limited, hence less games. Talk about having powerful processor and so on, but I cannot see its use for this tablet. my iPad 2 was giving me enough power to run Tiger Woods 12, Fifa 12, Rage, Infinity Ward, etc.

Overall, HP has done a decent job, but iPad 2 still reigns until... IPad 3?
